Theoretically, a 200cc 2-stroke has about the same power as a 400cc 4-stroke. It hits it's power stroke twice as often as a 4 stroke (hence a 2-stroke 1/2 the size of a 4-stroke, having the same power).

It's no surprise seeing a Blaster beat 250-350cc sized quads. A piped, modified intake, and jetted Blaster is a GOOD race with a 400ex. Now, a 240 kit Blaster smokes a 400ex no problem. 2-strokes rule if you don't mind the aggressive powerband, often times extra work, and a little blue smoke. :)

looks like the honda got the blaster on take off..but the yamaha had the overall better top end.change the gearing on the honda by going 1 to 2 teeth bigger on the front sprocket and reduce the the rear sprocket by 3 to 4 teeth..this will take away some of your low end take off power but you will gain in top end speed.
