  • Oooo i could jump off a dolls house.

  • my mum lives round the corner from him

  • @julieanddavid stu francis

  • I hate Stu Francis five times as much as Hitler based solely on this video.

  • the great suprendo is victoria woods husband

  • @tiasarahellielorna Er, was. They divorced several years back!

  • Oooooo I could crush a grape....

  • Thanks for uploading this.

Brought back a lot of memories!

I was at junior school when this was broadcasting.

I am nearly 39 now LOL.

  • They should use the question as i.d, to see if you're old enough to buy alcohol etc:

Ask them It's Friday, it's five to five, time for........?

And if they don't answer Crackerjack!! they're not old enough to buy the items!

  • The CCs are funnier than the script :)

  • I dont recall the script being that poor....it seemed hilarious 30 years ago! I must say, what a professional Stu Francis was getting through that rubbish!!

  • 0:59-1:04 who is that band?

  • Was it Jimmy The Hoover? It looked like the singer, sounded as crap as him and he wore a jacket like that when the band were on TOTP playing the god awful Tantalise. That is on Youtube so watch it and weep at the dreadfulness.

  • Ooh I could crush a grape!!

  • Oooh i could test drive a tonka. Oooh I could wrestle an action man.

  • 5.15 - 6.00 every Friday evening on BBC 1. I don't think I've ever seen any clips of this since back then!

  • Might not be the fondest era of Crackerjack but it's the only one I remember - I was 4 when Stu Francis took over! But I loved it as as a kid!

  • Isn't that Downtown Julie Brown on the left before she crossed the pond to join MTV?

  • oooh i could crush a grape stu francis always had the best adidas track suits on and crackerjack was fuckin mint back in the day

  • Can someone please tell me who the 'limp 80's pop bands' are??

  • @lotte781 No idea but the second one singing on his own is Nick Haywood ( Haircut 100)

Couldn't stand Stu Francis or the krankies.

Only wanted remember just how much i loathed this show

  • @kevinturvy

Go on you daft old bugger i bet you had a soft spot for Julie Brown, i know i did.

  • @Thetellurianvortex Would that be the Julie Brown that ended up on MTV..

If so then yea it was one reason to watch it i suppose.

  • @kevinturvy

    Indeed it was.

  • i was only 3 at the time and remember really loving this!! even the krankies!!

  • This was the first use of the "Gunge Tank" in the history of Television. Not Gunge, but the Gunge drop tank. And Francis was either thick as shit during Take A Chance or the visual effects guys didn't like him, because he was gunged every week!!!

Someone PLEASE upload a few episodes of the francis Era!

  • Ooooh, I could favourite this video clip!

  • The great Soprendo looked like Harold Bishop with a hair and sun job.

  • @womblediehard LOL Still can't believe he was married to Victoria Wood!

  • @rainbowpride76 lol Poor Victoria, she must have got fed up with his fish bowel glasses hogging the bed of a night time, as for Stu i could crush a grape, bet he turned into a alcoholic after all that grape crushing he did, looking back now this show sucks, as a kid loved it, but now oh dear lol

  • @womblediehard I know exactly what you mean. When I was five I thought Stu Francis and his 'Ooo I could crush a grape' was the best thing ever.. Still great memories though =)

  • Crackerjack - The BBC's answer to ATV's TISWAS but I still think TISWAS was better!!

  • @twocky61 Tiswas was on Saturdays while Crackerjack was midweek

  • @leparc2008 Oh yes I remember now - It was Multi Coloured Swapshop that was on Saturday mornings!!

  • Stu Francis. Talent has indeed left the building.

  • Genuinely I was GUTTED when I found out the great Soprendo wasn't Spanish.

  • @The7HOFM

Wasn't he married to Victoria Wood?!? Or were my mam's mushrooms a bit dodgy back in the 80s?

    Respectable replies only please!!!

  • When Stu Francis took over, it marked the point in my childhood when I suddenly thought 'Hang on, even for kids telly this is bloody rubbish!'.

  • God I hated the great soprendo. He was as much of a tit as chris biggins!!

Loved the rest of crackerjack though

  • Ha ha, Adam Ant's phone number! I remember Julie, but not Sarah. A stunning blonde called Leigh Miles was one of the female assistants for 2 series. I can recall that in one season of the show, Keith Harris kept alternating with the Great Soprendo as guest star, week by week.

That Nick Heyward was possibly the most beautiful male popstar I've ever seen; I was just a little too young to appreciate that, at the time.

  • Thanks for this upload brought some great memories back!

  • I loved this show. And after it dungons and dragons was on.

  • Isn't Stu Francis now living and working under the name "Vernon Kaye"?The actor who plays Dev in Corrie seems to have based the character on The Great Suprendo.

  • Lol, that little musical fanfare as The Great Suprendo walks out on stage, I'd love that to accompany me everytime I arrived somewhere. I'd never ever tire of it. XD

  • hehe just seen stu francis in panto today :) dont remember crackerjack so this is good education! :D

  • i remember crackerjack though i didnt like stu francis he kept coming out with crap catchphrases and told awful jokes

  • Fantastic!!!!!!
