Barcelona do get some favourable decisions at times, but they always play excellent football and outplay their opponents. At least they're not Man United who always get decisions, play shit, scrape a win and still moan after.

@4435123 nah..messi is extraordinary player..one of the best .but his style of play suits more to La Liga which a bit slow ,some may argue more technical..the defenders are also awful compared to EPL ..the camp nou pitch is always wider so messi gets more space.m not sayin messi wont survive in EPL..a player of his ability will make a mark irrespective of the league in which he plays..but he "might" not look tht majestic playin in EPL coz its a bit more physical ,fast paced and wid bttr defndrs
I agree with that, but not all of la liga defenders are awfull, only the ones of the weaker teams.For example Real Madrid has Pepe and Ricardo Carvalho and Barça has Puyol and Piqué, all top class defenders, mate ;D

Messi's dribbles this season can't be compared to those last season, but he has become unselfish and makes a lot of admirable passes, and one of them was an assist to David Villa at Emirates Stadium.

watching arsenal or barcelona on a weekly basis against other teams is beautiful enough and at many times breath taking but being blessed with this fixture for the champions league we shouldnt be watching and arguing over whose the better team and who has the better philosophy or who deserved to win or not but rather appreciating this artwork on show

The people who say that Barca was far superior to Arsenal are half-right - Barca were superior at keeping possession - but there are no prizes for keeping possession. Arsenal used their possession to greater effect by breaking further, breaking faster, fighting harder, working harder, and didn't visibly tire as Barca did - Arsenal were maybe a little lucky - hope they are just as lucky in the return leg.
Also, I don't think we'll win at Nou Camp. Good thing is that we don't need to!
We will have our best defender back, Sagna, which should help. Mikael Sylvestre won't be available for Messi to play 1-2s with so thats always a good thing. Don't forget this was nasri's 1st game in a month so he'll be more fit when we travel to Spain.
For all you neanderthals claiming Barca took us apart. We were the better team in he first 20 minutes. Barca 'dominated' the remainder of the half. Second half we were the more dangerous team. Yes Barca had much more possession but thats a useless statistic.
Territorial advantage was 53-47, which is a much more accurate representation of what the team actual does with that possession and where they keep the ball. We seem to be forgetting that it as Arsenal who had more shots than Barca.
Arsenal fan here. Great game maybe the best game this season. Both teams played Attackin football. Barcelona were terrefic at times and so were we. Both teams stuck to there principles. btw if any of you barcelona fans thought Arsenal were gonna jus defend and sit back u were wrong. Arsenal one style of football and thatz to attack. We will attack at the Camp nou. :) Hope the second leg is as great as this first. Come on Arsenal

In this logic, Dortmund would be the only good team in Germany just because Bundesliga is now a single-horse race. But I don't think any team in Europe dare treat Bayern as a pushover.
@soul1786 Teams under the shadow of Barcelona and Real Madrid are not necessarily mediocre. Despite this match, nothing at all SHOWS that they wouldn't have been equally dominant in the Premier League. You may say some top English teams would be Barca and Real's matches, but the same can absolutely be said of Valencia (who have already lost David Villa and David Silva), Villarreal, Bilbao, Espanyol and - you know what? - not only them!
@soul1786 Just watch the games. The reason why La Liga teams can't win as much as Barca and Real is that their average level of skills is very high, so their matches are tighter. Those who play a good match again Top 2 are not necessarily those who do well in the league table.
@soul1786 Sorry to say, unlike England, whose very best team in World Cup couldn't dribble and pass, there are many good Spanish players who can't get many caps. Fabregas and David Silva are world-class players but they often can't start for Spain. And look at De la Pena's clips here. You may be shocked that such an amazing players have got only 5 caps.

Unlike you, nobody in HK is weird enough to think that Barca won't be able to compete in the Premier League on the one hand, that Arsenal lost 6:3 last year just because they played badly, on the other hand, as when they lose to average teams back in England, or that Manchester United are the best team in the world.
I've been in the UK for two years, and the Brits have never stuck me as provincial. In HK, most football fans have watched English football for very long, so we, including those who love Barca, are very happy for Arsenal.

I think Arsenal have a good chance now that pique is out for the 2nd leg and puyol might not make it .Arsenal will be defending the whole match becuase barca are to good with ball so that means good opporptunities when they get the ball to hit theo on the counter attack on that big pitch could work well for Arsenal.
Honestly, I ecstatic that Arsenal won yesterday. But Barcelona are still the best team in the world. Last year we drew them at the emirates. Then Messi destroyed us at Camp Nou. La Liga may be a comparatively weaker league than EPL, but Barcelona and Madrid are no joke. Lets not overreact to this victory - both teams played well and either could have won. Barca's got the away goal. They're still favorites to win. Now we have to go to Campt Nou and Pull off at least a Draw!
Arsenal and Barca are my two favourite teams in the world. They are both amazing to watch and both really do have great morals and spirit about them. The majority of Arsenal and Barcelona players are some of the most modest people in European football. And both teams can hardly be criticised along with the likes of Chelsea, Man City and Madrid for spending insane sums of money on players. Both teams focus on home grown talent. (Look at Wilshere, Messi, Pedro, Walcott, Fabregas, Pique etc...)
God help us(Arsenal) inthe second leg. We rode our luck last night a bit and the fans played an important role. That was the most energetic crowd I have seen supporting us last night. We all knew we had 2 go for broke and play all our cards and we were fortunate to be still in the game late on until we sealed victory. It just amazes me how Barca manage to create chances at will against any team. Must be something in the Barca training ground

It's fine if you don't care for Barca, but if you don't know how they are, keep your mouth shut. They're arrogant? After Ibrahimovic left, they may be even more modest than Arsenal. They don't insult their opponents with anything other than good football. Before every game you hears Guardiola tell the media that he expects a tough game. Iniesta and Xavi seem to have no ego at all. Barca won 6-3 last year but they treated Arsenal as their equals.

I notice nearly all of you silly people don't realize that a 2-1 win is a very close tie and in my opinion, with much more pragmatism, Barcelona has the upper hand for scoring in England, while I have a strong assumption Barcelona will win in Spain while Arsenal will not score. Last time I checked it was 4-1 to Barcelona, in a very owning style and to be honest, even with 2 loses over the season, Real Madrid are currently the 2nd most balanced club in the world. @4435123 nah..messi is extraordinary player..one of the best .but his style of play suits more to La Liga which a bit slow ,some may argue more technical..the defenders are also awful compared to EPL ..the camp nou pitch is always wider so messi gets more space.m not sayin messi wont survive in EPL..a player of his ability will make a mark irrespective of the league in which he plays..but he "might" not look tht majestic playin in EPL coz its a bit more physical ,fast paced and wid bttr defndrs

Messi's dribbles this season can't be compared to those last season, but he has become unselfish and makes a lot of admirable passes, and one of them was an assist to David Villa at Emirates Stadium.

The people who say that Barca was far superior to Arsenal are half-right - Barca were superior at keeping possession - but there are no prizes for keeping possession. Arsenal used their possession to greater effect by breaking further, breaking faster, fighting harder, working harder, and didn't visibly tire as Barca did - Arsenal were maybe a little lucky - hope they are just as lucky in the return leg.

For all you neanderthals claiming Barca took us apart. We were the better team in he first 20 minutes. Barca 'dominated' the remainder of the half. Second half we were the more dangerous team. Yes Barca had much more possession but thats a useless statistic.
Territorial advantage was 53-47, which is a much more accurate representation of what the team actual does with that possession and where they keep the ball. We seem to be forgetting that it as Arsenal who had more shots than Barca.

Despite this match, nothing at all SHOWS that they wouldn't have been equally dominant in the Premier League. You may say some top English teams would be Barca and Real's matches, but the same can absolutely be said of Valencia (who have already lost David Villa and David Silva), Villarreal, Bilbao, Espanyol and - you know what? - not only them!

Honestly, I ecstatic that Arsenal won yesterday. But Barcelona are still the best team in the world. Last year we drew them at the emirates. Then Messi destroyed us at Camp Nou. Arsenal and Barca are my two favourite teams in the world. They are both amazing to watch and both really do have great morals and spirit about them. The majority of Arsenal and Barcelona players are some of the most modest people in European football. And both teams can hardly be criticised along with the likes of Chelsea, Man City and Madrid for spending insane sums of money on players. Both teams focus on home grown talent. God help us(Arsenal) inthe second leg. We rode our luck last night a bit and the fans played an important role. That was the most energetic crowd I have seen supporting us last night. We all knew we had 2 go for broke and play all our cards and we were fortunate to be still in the game late on until we sealed victory. It's fine if you don't care for Barca, but if you don't know how they are, keep your mouth shut. They're arrogant? After Ibrahimovic left, they may be even more modest than Arsenal. They don't insult their opponents with anything other than good football. Before every game you hears Guardiola tell the media that he expects a tough game. The reason Arsenal fans are talking the way they are is because of the FACT that the world saw Barca destroy a second/third string Arsenal last year and now have a full Arsenal side (which BEAT Barca) has shown the world that Barca is only good amongst shit teams (La Liga). Many of the fans watch La Liga but why would they follow it as it a SHIT league with only two good teams as opposed to the Prem which has five world class clubs (and Tottenham) lol.

@ElAlonso14 yeha barca might be gr8 on the pitch infact i love o watch barca play..but off the pitch well u hear almost every other day barca players saying that "cesc has barca dna"...its time "cesc shud come to home"... yeah right this is humility..players talking about another team's captain to come and join them with the media..u know there is nothing wrong in barca making an offer for cesc but it angers me everytime i read a barca player asking cesc to come to camp nou..btw gr8888 video:D

Have they been respectful to Arsenal supporters? Look at all those comments trough the year about Arsenal, those are Barca supporters and most of them have been negative really. So my point is that the general reaction of Barca supporters have not been very different.

I'm a fan of both teams, and think both of them have a chance, especially after watching Barca's poor performance against Athletic Bilbao. Really take full thought on this...3/4 of Arsenal's squad are made of glass! Robin van Persie is a great player but too injury prone...Maxwell pretty much kept Walcott quiet in the first leg. And Fabregas is doubtful. Really never get happy over a first leg. I don't, even if we win big time I won't be happy until the round is over!

@awnplmigo i dont think barca players or guardiola are arrogant. many of their fans and their clubs directors are arrogant in they way they behave at times andd especially when it comes to the way they behaved towards arsenal over cesc fabregas. some of the reaction to last nights game from arsenal fans is probably down to anger at barca's behaviour in the summer.

Personally, I don't think even those Barca players themselves expect Fabregas to join them soon (and Guardiola just said he won't sign him in the next transfer window), instead they want them to replace Xavi when the latter is in decline.

He also admitted that "Cesc has a place for Arsenal in his heart", though he claimed "he has Barcelona in his blood". Before the match he also praised Walcott lavishly.
I agree that Xavi is arrogant, but for another remark. It's he who has directly slagged off Arsenal.

@portugalskrilla I was a bit sad to find, inadvertently, that Pique may be just even more cock. By Barca's standard, they played very badly against Athletic Bilbao, and that was obviously a very tough game for them, but Pique still said his team didn't have to work really hard to beat them.
Anyway, I think Guardiola and Iniesta are really classy and lovely guys.

I am a fan of say it's the strongest team In Europe at the moment ,but I respect strong teams like Barcelona and as everybody it's the strongest team in Europe at the moment . but I want to say that Barcelona doesn't have what the most beautiful football.becuz what I've seen that when Barcelona meet strong teams they pass many passes and eventually it goes back to Messi every time . this isn't a beautiful football this is just a cover to deliver the ball to Messi so he can make the difference

I notice nearly all of you silly people don't realize that a 2-1 win is a very close tie and in my opinion, with much more pragmatism, Barcelona has the upper hand for scoring in England, while I have a strong assumption Barcelona will win in Spain while Arsenal will not score. Last time I checked it was 4-1 to Barcelona, in a very owning style and to be honest, even with 2 loses over the season, Real Madrid are currently the 2nd most balanced club in the world. A Spaniard club will be champ.
