  • ชอบ +++++++++++++

  • why did find this vid?! lol

    btw, Specifically watermelon in Thai is "Thang Mo".

    "Thang" just means melons in general.

  • I made the video with the shitty Windows Movie Maker software, the song is from a CD I bought when I lived in Bangkok.

    I'm aware that watermelon is "tang mo." In the song, though, he uses the word "tang" by itself. I asked some Thais which "tang" he was talking about -- tang mo or tang gwa -- and no one knew. In the end I went with "watermelon" over "cucumber" because the word Tang on its own is a popular girl's name, and the girls assume they're named after watermelons, if you ask.

  • Sorry but "Thang" in this mean to "Thang Mo"

    Then this song mean to watermelon

  • Is he a Laotian?

  • @rajamysay Surapol was in Suphanburi central of Thailand. Not Laotian. He sang some songs that contain Isan words, but pronounce not well.

  • @rajamysay He's Thai. Many Thai country music songs and points of reference come out of Isaan, the NE region of Thailand, which borders Laos. The Isaan dialect has many Lao sounding words so it's not unexpected to hear what you might at first think is the Lao language when you're listening to a Thai country music song

    (I think I'm saying the same thing that teppasit9 is, actually.)

  • @rajamysay No, he's Thai. He's the first looktung singer. Nobody else produces the skillful technique of his singing.
