nice vid, even though i dont give 2 shits about the broncos, i was actually trying to get an idea of how cameron wake would be used by nolan on the phins, so i looked up Dumervil. By the way thanx for BMarsh too. good luck broncos.
Elvis Dumervil is my cousin. My dad told me, but I havent even met him yet. My last name is Dumervil and I'm Haitian just like him, but I was born in Florida.
@flaccojoe You're joking right? Patrick Willis is by far the best LB in the league as of now. Willis will only get better as Lewis will only get older.
@flaccojoe I hate saying never to something, because it's hard to predict the future. Instead I'll somewhat agree by saying that Ray's role on that Ravens defense is what help keeps that unit so dominate.
Awesome video. Dumervil is the best in the NFL at his position. On top of that, he's a class act, not like that piece of crap Shawne "Roids In" Merriman.
Dumervil is 5'11 and weights 248, That is his official height and weight. However, the length of his arms and the wingspan of his arms are a completely different story. His arm length is about someone who is about 6'5-6'7 which makes him a menance since he cant get so low to the ground at 5'11 and easily people beat with his freakily long arms
Is he Haitian. Oh yeah I like him better at OLB because he is a bit small for an end to stop the run but he is athletic enough to play linebacker. He already has 8 sacks in 4 games beast!!!!
I"ve been saying this for years. But Dumervill may be the most underrated player in the NFL... i.e. in Madden 2010 they rated him 61 not even rookie OLB's are rated that low. In the first 3 games of the year he already has 6 sacks... I hope everyone keeps overlooking him because in the 48 starts he's made he has 32 sacks. Thats including all of last year where he played on a shitty D line, with a broken hand...
Easily a top 5 pass rusher, yet nobody know's who he is... YET!!!
I cant wait for the draft... Just think if we get Rey, in the draft... Him along side DJ in the middle. With Elvis, Jarvis, and possibly Boss on the outside... our LB core will be nasty, one of the best in the leauge!!!
As for the size thing, Elivis is much stouter than Merriman. he gives up 15lbs but he's also 5"-6" shorter.
Jarvis Moss is close to Merriman size a bit more slender but quicker than Merriman but physically pretty close any way.
JArvis moss is the biggest bust on the broncos roster. Hes neither fast or strong. He barely even made 3rd string. From a guy drafted what 12 overall?
Yes and no... he was injury pleged while playing in a 4-3 wich didnt help his cause. But now he's a 6'6" 270lb DE trying to play OLB... it may take a while to transition to a brand new position. Not everyone can switch positions like Elvis did!
FYI, he's a very fast man for his size! When he was drafted he was 6'6" and around 270lbs and he ran a sub 4.7 40 yard dash. To put that into perspective Knowshown Moreno ran a 4.6!!!
DUde you have no personel knowledge, a pass rusher who runs a fast 40 time doesnt mean shit, and it certainly doesnt equate to what a running back does. Those are 2 COMPLETELY different positions.
Wanna know why the chargers went after Larry English, and the Pats moved out of the first round as soon as he was taken? He didnt have a blazing fast 40 time. It was because he had the fastest first 10 steps of anyone in the draft. And when your a pass rusher those 10 steps are all that matter.
I'm awhere they are 2 completly diffrent possitions. But the 40 yard dash mesures quickness, not top speed... i.e. the first 10 steps you speak of. His shuttle time, 10 & 20 yard splits are also very fast for a guy who's 270 lbs. And the later 3 are more of agility tests than speed! Meaning they mesure his lateral movement, which is what Moss is good at, he's a fanice guy. In the 20SS he's faster than the 215lb RB. That vouges for his quickness, off the line!!!
Man I remember when he was louisville he was a savage! He played with a guy named ROBERT MCCUNE he plays with the ravens right now but that dude is swoll!!!! He is fuckn huge! Someone should get some footage of this guy! Google him he is fuck'n monstrous!
Dumervil is not even close to the same body style as merriman, dumervil first of is a DE and merriman is a linebacker, second dumervil is only 5'11 260lbs and merriman is 6'4 270. and elvis is going to have a better oveall career that merriman because he hasn't had any major injuries and he didn't take any steroids. i think merriman is never going to be the same after this knee injury he suffered this past year.
I just said in the 3-4 system an outside linebacker plays the same as a DE in a 4-3 system.
And no elvis isnt sorry, merriman is considered one of the top 3 pass rushers in the league without question, elvis is not. Merriman has had a year to recover from his knee injury
Chargers have one of the worst defenses this year and Merriman is not looking near what he used to be. And Dumervil is blatantly underrated and has been overlooked his whole career because of his size.
i was fortunate enough to see Elvis play at louisville and i have to say he is the most underrated player that may be out there. i think he is headed to the hall of fame.
If i were you I wouldn't be so proud that i have so many good players but they're asses keep choking in the play offs and if you dislike the broncos so much don't watch these videos. And Btw players get in the pro bowl by how popular they are not necessarily by how good they are. I can name you a ton of players that should belong in the pro bowl but stupid fans like you ignore them and only vote for the big names in football.
"key word "potential" too bad that doesnt translate into good players much less probowlers good try though" you saying this makes you the biggest hypocrite ever you know what analysts say about your beloved chargers? they have alot of "potential" but they need to break the barrier and win the superbowl. Have they done that yet? nope they keep fucking losing in the playoffs so as far as im concerned your "pro bowl team" doesnt translate in to a good team, it translates as an overrated team
So the first 2 years they go to the playoffs in 13 years with this team and they lose you think thats a bad thing. The chargers dont have 1 shot wonder teams like denver, this team is locked up in long term contracts, we will be around to own afc west for years to come.
0whitealex0 is your basis for a player being "good" only based on if they go to the fucking pro bowl? cause that what is sure seems like cause you keep bringing it up. I got a news flash buddy your team the cowboys and the patriots had more pro bowlers than the majority of the other teams, did they win the super bowl ? no they're asses lost in the playoffs so stop yapping about pro bowl players being the ingredient to a good team
I agree, look at the giants only 1 probowler. Its not the basis, but if the player has made probowl sometime in the past then that means that player is in the top echilon of that position in the nfl. A lot of players dont make probowls who maybe should, this is not one of them.
okay Im a true Bronco fan I bleed orange and blue....John Lynch made the pro bowl last year...did he deserve to be there...I dont think so...The pro bowl is a fan favorite deal...Dumervil had 12.5 sacks last year...Hes a good player with nothing but upside...I cant stand the Chargers as a team but hey they have some talent...If Rivers wasnt such a punk and hid behind his team as he talks trash from across the field then I would not wish for him to get his clock cleaned by ANYBODY.
I think its funny that the ONLY team that hates rivers is the broncos. I wonder if its out of frustration since they cant win, or even score 1 TD. Or maybe because its just funny.
It's also funny how the ONLY quarterback the Broncos don't like is Rivers. A lot of people hate Rivers. The Colts organization (who are very classy) have stated their dislike with Rivers and his comments to their fans.

Cutler hasn't reached his max potential yet. Rivers was in his 5th year, Cutler his 3rd. Of course, die hard Charger fans since 2006 don't realize this.
Cutler didn't start his whole rookie season idiot. He started 5 games. More proof that you know absolutely nothing about football, and didn't start following until the Chargers had a 14-2 record in 2006. Sitting out benefits a quarterback his first few years, just ask Steve McNair. Ever wonder why Rivers, Rodgers, hell even Cassel had such good seasons their first year starting? They were all backing up great quarterbacks. Still waiting for a response why 65 yards "isn't far" according to you.
OMG he started 11 less games than rivers, that makes the difference between a vet and a developing qb. Actually Rodgers had a bad year, shitty example, but nice fail. wtf are you talking about 65 yards?
well if you knew anything about football, 3-4 DE are different from 4-3 DE. The outside LB are equivalent to the 4-3 DE and we do have a pro-bowler and next year we will have 2 since philips is considered a top OLB.
Yes I know about the 3-4 and 4-3 defense schemes and you forgot to mention that 3-4 defense suffers from the passing game and that you HAVE TO HAVE A GREAT D-LINE, GOOD LB'S AND A DECENT SECONDARY to be consider a good defense. And we do have players with Pro-Bowl potential like D.J. Williams, Elvis Dumervil, Marcus Thomas and maybe Jarvis Moss.
Let me just put this straight any team that is running a 3-4 defense will make any decent LB in the NFL look good since the D-line is doing all the work. And where the Chargers are running that defensive scheme will make their decent LB's look good when one of them is on steroids.
In the 4 total games that rivers has played against the donkeys I have yet to see that. This guy MIGHT make backup on the chargers roster, hes mediocre at best.
