  • This is one of those rare instances where a song is executed perfectly. It may not be the greatest rock song ever, but it's flawless.

  • SWAG

  • this is fucking amazing

  • fuckingreatestshitever

  • He's gonna sneeze!

  • @noobcake19 Hahahahahahah !

  • 7 people love justin bieber

  • <3

  • This is real music !!! love it !! <3

  • Science fiction space rock

  • Buy it. Sounds better. This song was about a dream Jimi had about his mother I believe. The Hendrix estate has mostly no relation to Jimi I believe. Check out the original album. Electric Ladyland,i Is a masterpiece my fav album in existence.

  • Overall, Gibson seems to be a more popular guitar. If you listen to hendrix and Blackmore though, you see that the stratocaster is akin to a manual automobile. It's a little harder to drive, but if you get it right it will always win the race.

  • @drockkclapton

think david gilmour from pink floyd too

  • @thebenhavens gilmour, clapton, beck, and so on...i love both brands but fender comes out on top!

  • 111

  • amazing song i love it and its not popular enough but god its amazing

  • 7 deaf people must of visited this page

  • when i ask my dad , what music do you like? He answers : "they don't make the music that i like anymore" .

  • @nexes1337 Not anywhere near JIMI ;s standard and Im prob same generation as your Dad, but another oldie is still churning it Out (-: Check out my recent upload, (instrumental version) called Killing Me on my channel )0(

  • the 7 HATERS DONT LUV THEM GYPSY EYES or jimi hendrix obviously

  • One of my favourite Jimi songs :) And it's stuck in my head today, my neighbours probably wish it wasn't :))

  • @ledzeplinchesh wish you were my neighbour.

  • I realize I've been hypnotized. Read Infinite Jest.

  • castrated lol i think that's a little bit of an over reaction personally

  • @badazzfeliciano mine 2

  • Jimi alive in the studio today wouldn't last 5 minutes. Gov't. would say 'that's not nwhat's hap'nin',go away litle black boy, play your harmonica in the pepsi commercial, but if you try un iting anybody, ANYBODY, we'll have you choking on your own vomit by sunrise, ain't aFRAID TO DIE WHEN IT'S MY TIME TO DIE

  • well I realized that I'd been hypnozited, I love your gypsy eyes <3

  • oh man... think this has to be my favorite jimi song.... AMAZING!!!!

  • ELECTRIC LADYLAND FTW!

  • Electric Ladyland le meilleur album de tous les temps.

  • 5 people dont have Gypsy Eyes.

  • Still no-one can touch him.

  • That was 5 lady Gag Gag fan's!

  • @sn00pyize What is a lady gaga? is that a brand of baby toys or something?

  • Excellente chanson une des meilleures de Electric Ladyland et une des meilleures de Jimi Hendrix.

  • 822

    8-5=3

    3+2=5

25 the age he was for this album, jimi is somewhere in this universe.

  • last time i checked alcohol is poison whiskey...doctors dont know what they were giving out back then anyway..they were all baked.

  • Their needs to be a love button for this song!

  • He was the most lovely guitarist, he made blues sound so simple, his hands were so huge he could play easy, Woodstock was huge for him. I loved him in the 60s when he played it with his teeth upside down and left handed as per usual. COOL.

  • Eric Johnson based a lot of his tone and riffs of this song.

  • @ibanezdude2000 Eric Johnson has given Jimi lots of compliments.

  • Funkadelic owed so much to this song

  • he was so brilliant. What a loss i would give a fuckin ball to jam with this guy...

  • What scales are used in this btw?

  • @omerikog cheers man

  • 有難うございます。この曲また聞きたかったんです。

  • I prefer giving them a lobotomy

  • There is not one single song of Hendrix that I don't LOVE. Every song is unique and different every time it is played, while retaining the basic melody. Hendrix was so ahead of his time, no one has yet to match the legacy he left behind.

  • Is it true that Jimi played bass on this track, friend of mine was putting me up on that info, kinda thought it was bullshit, but can anybody shed some light on that.

  • @shonha1 hes played bass on a few songs I know all along the watchtower is one of them, but idk about this, its easily possible.

  • Comment removed

  • @MajesticSuperiorHen It was Jimi, I believe. I know Noel and Jimi split bass duties on the album, so it is quite possible. Good ear!

  • @montereypopfestiva67 yes friend jimi played the bass on this song because this one of many songs on the album that took 40+ takes to record and made noel walk out the studio on several occasions!!!!! lol he was a master of many that not alot of people know!!!!!

  • @toby2k75 You're right...you can add Gypsy Eyes, All Along The Watchtower, Have You Ever Been..., 1983,

You Got Me Floating...and many more credited to Jimi's great bass playing.

  • @dowsemeister Those are all great songs too my Friend!!!!! He also played the drums, bass, and guitar on "Angel" off the first rays album!!!! Not many Hendrix fans know that he also played piano, violin, and drums as well as his strat!!!!

  • @toby2k75 Wow! ..I did not know that about "Angel" All this time I thought it was Billy and Mitch. I guess he would have played piano on Midnight Lamp, Crosstown Traffic and the fade out section of Axis??

  • @dowsemeister Yes Sir and there are some others i blanked out on!!!!!! LOL what is kinda crazy but true Noel Redding said in an interview "if Jimi Had eight arms he wouldn't of needed a band"....Because he was that gifted musically and he knew how his masterpieces were gonna sound all he needed was a great drummer like Mitch or Buddy Miles... With Billy Keeping the beat on bass they took off to mars!!!!!!

  • @toby2k75 Duh, who played violin too, Jimi or who?

  • @toby2k75 also played sitar and produced cat mother

  • @toby2k75 thanks for that info! never knew that...

  • @shonha1 yes he does

  • Hendrix became famous because the man was a genius, unlike today when even talentless mediocrities are lauded as a genius just because they're famous.

  • how the fuck can a song by jimi get any dilsikes ?!?!?

  • @theannoyingboy999 -Retards

  • @theannoyingboy999 Retards- & lameos

  • @sns21274 That was funny.

  • jimi hendrix is the one artist where i could listen to any of all his songs and think its good

  • jimi hendrix is the one artist where i could to any of all his songs and think there all good

  • Am I the only one who hears the similarity between this song and Cocaine?

  • @pkrkid42 - yep- you drug damaged idiot

  • @pkrkid42 Yes.

  • @pkrkid42

    yes you are

  • 5 people are gypsies, but not the cool jimi hendrix gypsies >:(

just regular gypsies without the eyes.....

  • @SessleJr

You mean the ones that stole my car!

    lol

  • who ever went thumbs down on Jimi is a phucken imbecile u moron keep bumpin that Drake douche!

  • 4 is the mystical number of completion. Jimi's complete career as the leading man was ~4 yrs. long. Coincidence, or theological causation?

  • man oh man, I miss being 14 and listening to this guy, and taking a toke or two

  • X people Y!

  • whoever dislikies this song should just stop listening 2 music

  • Jimi is still my main man after all these (46) years I am being a devotee. His music is still great. He's just the best!

  • Comment removed

  • Every time I listen to Jimi I get a random acid trip

  • @Trudady123 My wife too!

  • Uploaded 2007, recorded 1968, still loved and admired in 2011! Lady Gaga? Who is she anyway? ohyeah that chick with the wierd clothes. I realize that i been hypnotized i love her wierd clothes?Nope her gypsy eyes!

  • stoned to the bone right now, these are some tasty jams. mmmmmmmmmmm...

  • Jimi Hendrix, George Clinton, Bootzilla, Buddy Miles.

would have been a killer band eh ?

  • @MrKirkenstein Haha, George Clinton, that would´ve been one funky ass band.

  • I get chills every time I hear Jimi play and sing. You left us way too soon Jimi. :(

  • i would give anything just to see him perform at woodstock in 69'.

  • even my deaf friend likes Jimi because he can feel the music flow through his entire body

  • Hendrix 4 ETERNITY!!!

  • SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FUNKY!

  • A true genius. Jimi wrote this, plays all the instruments on this (except Mitch on drums of course), and does all the vocals. A complete artist indeed.

  • Five people should be castrated

  • @zmoek i thin kannoying dislike comments are funny but isnt that a bit harsh lol

  • @zmoek - 5 people are already castrated

  • @zmoek What if they're women?

  • @eggmangoogoogoojoob little girls dont like Jimi. WOMEN however, are mature and get it.

...except ive liked this since i was 7 so.... maybe not.

  • @zmoek if they hate music like this they probably dont have anything TO castrate ; -)

  • @zmoek five already are. lol

  • @zmoek You go Ayatollah.

  • @zmoek SEROIUSLY what a bunch of fuckin losers

  • @zmoek more like 5 people should have their dick smashed to the ground and have lighter fluid sprayed on it and set on fire, like Jimi did to his guitar.

Better way than the traditional castration methods. Castration a la Jimi

  • Hendix was murdered. His Stomach, Lungs, Esophagus, And bed were covered/full of red wine. It would have been impossible for him to do that himself. Hendrix was the greatest artist of all time, and we lost him because of someone's obvious jealousy or anger.... Rest in Peace.

  • Jimi was killed by a jealous lover. They found a liter of wine in his lungs.

  • @2dkoda The theory goes that Hendrix was actually murdered on the orders of his manager, Mike Jeffery, who had taken out a life insurance of £100,000 on Jimi (and that was a lot of money back in 1970). Indeed, Jeffery is thought to be have been at the scene of Hendrix' murder and is even supposed to have confessed to the crime subsequently, but as he was killed in a 1973 plane crash we'll never know for sure.

  • Hendrix should have been more like BB King, and then he would have lived longer.

  • Hendrix SHOULD still be around today, but he killed himself with drugs. His music is great, but he had the prudence of a squirrel.

  • @SimonMr7 It's most unlikely that Hendrix committed suicide, for a whole host of reasons; suffice to say that Jimi Hendrix, like Elvis, was always very careful inasmuch as he knew exactly what he was doing when it came to drugs. Hendrix was never a drug addict - he was far too smart for that. At first, I ridiculed the theory that Hendrix was murdered, but the more I read of it the more plausible it becomes.

  • @SimonMr7

NO he didn't kill himself with drugs....its the evil alcohol and downers combination that killed him....just like marilyn monroe.....barbiturates killed judy garland too

  • Jimi will always be the best of the best. In the past people were artist and their goal was to make good musi. if they became popular they became famous. Nowadays lots of people just have the intention to become famous as a goal and not something that goes with the territory of becoming popular.

  • @hesmon The search for prestige, wealth, popularityand all thing's related are not and never will be true success.Success is mesured in one's acomplishment. In looking at the number of view's and good comment's versus bad comment's I would say JIMI was a success. R.I.P. DON KIRSHNER YOU WERE THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN EAR!

  • :D

  • these teen pop stars are still childeren compared to legends like Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix definetely and a whole lot more.

  • The drums are so good.

  • There is no art in society...

  • This is why there should be Like, Dislike and Love So Damn Hard buttons on YouTube.

  • oh .... Henrix what just a drug-addict... he had no talent... jimi hendrix could'nt have composed and entire album... he was just an irresponsible drug addict... yeah...... keep watching television, and keep believing that Hendrix was a raging-drug-addict... yeah. cuz any drug-addict could compose an entire album....

  • @smp156 are u putting hendrix down? cuz im confused i dont kno how anyone could. Yeah he used drugs but so do 60% of musicians

  • @smp156 you seem to have commented on something you know nothing about. You say he couldn't have possibly composed and entire album, yet in 1968 he brought out his album "Electric Ladyland" with nigh on no help from his manager Chas Chandler.

  • Respond to this video... You also say he has no talent. Yet again, you have shown yourself to be a complete idiot commenting on something you know nothing about. Anybody with any slight musical knowledge would realize what an influence Jimi has been to bands, and how alien his music was compared to other bands back then. Obviously you don't play an instrument, and enjoy your quite life achieving nothing.

  • @tehnoobworks having quickly read his comment it looks like he was arguing against hendrix haters, not for

  • Respond to this video... I'm not denying that he took drugs, but anybody who knows Jimi's biography would know he didn't take anywhere near the amount of drugs other big rock stars took back in that era.

And here end'eth the lesson for the musically challenged.

  • @tehnoobworks From what I've read, which is a lot, Hendrix did a comparable amount of cannabis, acid, 'pills' and alcohol to the other counter-cultural musicians of that era. There's no clear evidence that he ever did heroin or cocaine, though.

  • This song grooves as hard as any he ever made IMO. Sounds better than most shit today.t

  • sounds better than ALL of today's music

  • ppl listened to this cuz they were on acid and they needed some fuckin real music, not cuz it was popular, only the homos did that

  • Shari, this your song. Remember that day in traffic, when I first noticed your gypsy eyes? Looking up at me? Gawddam, that was a good day.

  • "I've got a guitar!"-JImi Hendrix

  • there cant be legends like jimi anymore. todays popular musicians arent popular because they are talented or creative, theyre popular because they got lucky. theyre just living a dream and they have no idea what its like to be an actual musician. of course, all the bands that deserve to be recognized will stay unnoticed, due to the fact that 80% of teenagers are slaves to mtv and listen to whatever is popular.(i know because i go to school with them). the future of music looks bleak.

  • @0hsnapitssteven nah man musics alive u just gotta help keep it alive and not bitch out

  • @1324buster yeah i know, i try to keep music alive as much as i can.

  • @0hsnapitssteven you think people were engaged tht much into the music back in the 60's and 70's. Hell no, people were just listening to what was popular. Tht doesnt change, ppl always will blindly listen to whats popular. But, however, popular music goes in cycles, its goes great to shitty to great to shitty. mid 60's to mid 70's(great) Late 70's and the 80's(shitty) 90's(great) 2000-2010(shitty), judging based on past history we;re due for some greatness :-)

  • @schoolglue1234 60's-80's where awesome idk what you're talking about

  • @0hsnapitssteven As a teen I love Hendrix's music

  • @0hsnapitssteven I'm sorry for you and your friends. You can still learn from the masters. Perhaps one day enough youngsters will bring this type of music back. We can only hope.

  • If the society see Lady Gaga as an "artist", then what is Jimi? A god? Yes, that's for sure to me...

  • @newslang91 Hell fuck yes, well said, brother!!!

  • @newslang91 lady gaga makes me want to shoot a baby.

  • @newslang91 that's absolutly right ^^

  • @newslang91 lol :D if lady gaga is an artist,i believe the shit of a cow could be a god too. hendrix's more than a god, his level could not be defined, there's no word

  • @newslang91

    Hendrix is the Artist

    Gaga is a performer

Theres a fine line in between the two

  • @theblackmansmokey

    More like a chasm. ; )

  • A Master of lyrics and music eternal. God Bless Jimi.

  • Damn, don't hurt um Jimmy, you too good

  • I´ve heard that Lady Gaga was a child "prodigy" or some shit like that. That she learnt to play piano at five and can play Mozart and stuff. Ok I respect that. But she seems not to understand that the music is not "a business". Here´s a man that made music with his feelings, dreams, passion and love boiling though his veins. This is what a musician has to be. That´s why Rock was born. Lady Gaga will never come to Hendrix, or The Beatles or David Bowie, no matter how hard she tries to copy him.
