Thank you so much for posting this! It had one of the last pictures that was taken of my grandfather Robert and my mother Nikki. I havnt seem it since it was taken and that was the last time I saw him before he past. Thank you:))))
I agree, Robert Goulet was a phenomenal singer and performer. The depth of his voice was uncanny. I was fortunate enough to have seen him perform in Las Vegas in 1976. He came up to me and talked and sang to me and kissed me on the forehead. I was in a daze for weeks after.
Bob was a classical trained baritone, and was made for the stage, but if you listen to the songs on his albums , he also had a sweet softness that he used on certain ballads. he was unique among the pop performers with all that power, but his sense of humor let him fit in with Darin and Williams ,and others. I learned a lot about control and diction from his recordings. I miss him. thanks for the memories. ED
I met him once as a child and 30 years later wrote him a letter telling him how gracious he was to us. He wrote back and sent a signed picture! Very cool guy!
I saw Goulet last night in an episode of "Suspense Theatre" from @ 1964. He played a ne'er do well US soldier in a thinly veiled account of the Battle of the Bulge.
I just read this... Robert Goulet is my cousin as well.. =) My great grandfather and his grandfather were brothers... =) My grandma's maiden name is Goulet!
