He is ok but his acting seems stiff and really forced which isnt necessarily his fault it could possibly be the director or choreographer saying do this on this beat etc it should be more free he has a good voice though! x

I doubt your local theatre company produced an original cabaret titled "Heart & Music." This is NOT a production of Footloose (as clearly stated numerous times on this video) We are not portraying the characters from the show, nor are we trying to recreate the scene from the show. This song was just one of many in a cabaret of Broadway showtunes.

That's fine. As you can see, this is from a cabaret, not a production of Footloose, so we weren't actually portraying characters as we would in the actual show. If we were performing in the actual show, this performance would be quite different. I would love to see your performance, so you should post it.
