I love Smog/Bill Callahan but I don't like this elitist attitude some of you maintain. For example 'boo hoo Arctic Monkeys have more views', I'm sorry but the Arctic Monkeys are a decent, hard working band who, of course are a lot more 'sugary' than Smog but deserve that kind of attention. I'd rather people were listening to Alex Turner than Tina Turner. Bill Callahan has a faithful fan base and this video now has 58,000 views which is a lot, this doesn't count people that listen to it elsewhere

how can a song like this get so ignored? marcusirish is so right about the oversight of bill callahans talent!sometimes it needs somebody middle of the road famous to say he's good!... ironically enough, if somebody famous & influential said a dog turd was talented then people would believe!

Listen to his whole repertoire ... you'll hear themes (horses, rivers, trees, et al), but listen, just forget all that and listen ... the music, the lyrics ... his ability to articulate, write, compose and play is amazing ... "A River Ain't Too Much To Love" and "Knock Knock" would be great starters ...

@honestchrismcg I think you are saying something along the lines of Polonius' quote, "This above all: to thine own self be true..." Describing "talent" as the simple flow of one's natural qualities. Of course, the above quote can lead us to wonder, "What exactly is the true self?" For in fact, it was Polonius - of all people - who had this gripping idea. Does lil wayne and justin bieber display this "true self"? Do they express the true "talent", or place, for a self? Is there even such a thing?
