Even though this is really cornball and almost a bastardization of the Bill Haley hit, the musicianship on the LW show was so great that it almost makes up for the rediculousness of the arrangement.
All of Welks players were always good. Maybe not as well known as some others but unlike many musicans they often had some stability in their income and residence.
Pretty slick! Nice solo spots for "Four String" Bob Lido, Bill Page on clarinet and Barmey Liddell on trombone. Buddy Merrill must have been all of 18 at the time.
