  • why are the vocal cords white

  • @CinemaMinecraft500 They are white because of scant blood circulation.

  • @CinemaMinecraft500 The vocal folds are tissue, like skin. The normal appearance of healthy vocal folds is a white/pearly white appearance. If they looked red, for example, it would mean the vocal folds were infected, like in laryngitis.

  • I'm so scared to make any high pitched noises now... it looked like the vocal folds were gonna explode

  • @Username083192 The vocal folds are amazingly resilient and durable. Theya are amazing structures, but when used properly, there is little risk of damage.

  • this gives me a soo much clearer visual as to when im studying for my speech classes...thanks!!!!

  • It looks so fragile....

  • So when one swallows food and liquids, does it pass through the vocal chords or do they go down a totally separate path??

  • @Aldenif The vocal folds close and the esophagus opens to allow food to go to the stomach. If thsi did not happen, the food would go right into the lungs

  • i see an interarytenoid bar there, did she had reflux?

  • @sistagirl488deleted

Pretty good observation. yes, she did have reflux. She is a vocal performer, wilth likely laryngeal pharyngeal reflux.

  • wow the vibrato is so beautiful! So that's what it looks like when it does that! So cool!

  • is that the esophagus gting biggger when notes get higher, etc?

  • @enchanteDREAMer01 No, the vocal folds get longer when she produces higher notes. The esophagus is at the back, but it only opens when swallowing.

  • @speechme9349 oh! so THOSE ARE THE VOCAL folds! thx so much. Now I can picture my vocals while Im singing

  • Absolutely completely super-cool, and you have a great ear for pitch.

  • Yucky

  • ewwwwwwwwww

  • Nice take on the American National Anthem! Being a singer can be hard yet at the same time fun!

  • Interesting I know where the adam's apple is but you can't really see it close from the inside because most of it is on the outside....

never really grasped the concept of sound as a kid having autism so for me it's like a baby learning

  • the vocal cords cords look so disgusting but they can generate such beautiful noises lol

  • That's so awesome how the vocal cords expand as the voice gets higher!

Nice vibrato in the singing as well.

  • where is the ventricle of Morgagni? plz eply

  • @billlaAurbillli

Its between true folds and false folds (dont know if u also say that way in english) : it s just a space between them; however, in this video i dont really appreciate it

  • IT LOOKS LIKE DOORS

  • i learned that today in music class

  • eww xDD

  • hahaha.. should be her music video

  • Yes, it's a flexible scope passed through the nose. The scope itself does not affect speaking or singing when it is passed through the nose.

  • do they put it up her nose, i dont understand how she can sing with that thing shived down her throat.

  • how she can sing with a camera on the traquea ? xD

  • so do these really affect whether or not a person can sing?
