Its funnty to hear all the Canikons bitching about 4/3... if they were actually happy with their cameras, they wouldnt need to say Olympus sucks, their photos would actually prove their point.
And so far, Olympus is still winning in the Quality, Clarity, Vibrance, Accuracy, Versatility, Dynamic Range, Strength, Endurance, and Cosmetic Appearance race...

:-) Well, Professional photorgaphy is Nikon and Canon......Olympus makes good DSLR but its always going to be just Olympus with small 18.00 x 13.50 mm sensors :-( .The only good thing about the E3 was fast autofocus...

Hasselblad is for studio photography..used by VOGUE, ELLE etc. Just because its 50megapix ..das not mean its the best. For example the camera will only work in 32-110F temperture,is you wanna shoot in Colorado-Africa or sports in Australia u will fry the cam, its only single shoot cam and only take 33 pictures per minute.... NIKON D3 take 9 frame per second thats 540 pictures per minute...PRO SHOOT WITH NIKON AND CANON!
Did I say anything about megapixels? Environment? Speed?
No.
I said something about professional, and in the most common understanding of professional there is money, and Hasselblad/Leica are used in situations that make the most money.
I've seen shots from the H3D from the Sahara and in the Canadian Rockies.
Whoopdee doo, the D3 does 9fps.
My OM-2n does maybe 10 frames per hour and I've beaten photos taken with D3x's with it.
My E-500 does 2.5fps and I've managed the same success

LOL Hey we can help you mate :-)next time you watch SUPEBOWL 2010 on you TV send us picture from the field with all the pross photographers and lets see what equipment they use Frame it and put it on your wall ..LOL :-)
I'll be long dead before a photo of those gay ass white lenses goes up on MY wall!
Those press photographers don't have much of a choice of which cameras they use. Canikon basically donates those stupid setups to the press so that they can be seen on TV by billions of viewers worldwide watching just about any sport.
Its called advertising.
Sure, those photogs probably use Canikon themselves, but thats because they get gigantic discounts on all that overpriced shiat through contracts.
@XCSlayer I agree i recently switched to Nikon from the Alpha Full Frame system(a900 and a850), just to try something new. To be honest i am not a Nikon Fanboy, the camera is just a tool for me, if it sucks them i would try another one that works! The reason i got the D3 was because of the longer life, dual CF, and a sturdier body. But you wont see me putting down someone else just to make myself look big.
There has been many examples of the E-3 living on after being soaked with water. I've even seen a shot taken submerged. That did, however, let some water in under the LCD cover. So it's not recommended.
small sensor more pixels could be a lot more noise, also means you have to x2 all the lens distances. i am sure it is great but i would love a nikon d300 more.
Yes, the D300 is in a class of it's own in terms of noise. The crop factor is great for nature photography. Maybe a little unforgiving on the wide end, but that is why they have the 7-14mm. Wider than any lens from Nikon or Canon even with the crop factor.
Keep in mind that 4/3's is a designed for digital system. It doesn't use old film lenses and 4/3's lenses can't be used on film cameras. it has it's own unique mount so 2x crop "factor" is not really a factor. It's just a way to understand what the numbers on the lenses mean, in terms of field of view, when compared to old film standards.
No you cant it just means that if you were go through a water fall or get water splashed on it it would be fine .... I have had water even freeze on my e300 so i cant wait to try the e-3 that i pre-ordered :D There Probably will be a underwater housing available for it soon like there other cams
Sorry, but this is for wimps. The E-1 and E-3 can take a full bucket of water splashed onto them. This was often demonstrated in olympus trainings. The small bottle of water doesn't do anything.. heck, in the pooring rain it'll get more water than this.
Considering the E1 was displayed in the path of a waterfall at tradeshows, I doubt that this is a mock-up. If anything, the E3 is better sealed than the E1.
not have to use a water bottle on this camera,,,
keep a camera CLEAN and DRY all the time

Splashing water on E-3 doesn't proved anything! Turn it on after it!

the E-3 is very powerful gun...but I agree why would olympus go 4:3 instead 3:2 sensor on camera like this one?
inteligence1 3 years ago
That's because you use more of the lens with a squarer aspect ratio, and that leads to sharper corners. :)
Another factor is that many medium format camera systems had similar aspect ratios, 4x5 and so on.

If you were trying to demonstrate it's splashproofness, you've gotta pick it up to use it afterwards.
