I think Hitman is very underrated for his time. Many people said the downfall of the WWF back in the mid-90s was because Bret could not carry the weight of the company on his shoulders like Hogan could. However, Bret was Bret in the sense that his character was unlike the rest of WWF as he was himself and NOT a character (comic book"ish" ,over the top like Hogan). This was embraced a few years later by WCW with The Outsiders and a character change in Hogan. Then came the Attitude Era.
