  • how come sometime when i import a 3d object from autocad it is deformed in 3ds max? how can i edit it so it can return to its proper form?

  • @IPINALUGO Hi there, It's called deviations, When you import the object in 3ds max, one panel will come up, there is an option in that panel called deviations, (down to weld vertices option), minimum numbers will increase the smoothness and curves steps of the object.

Note : Do check your scale settings while typing deviation units.

  • its easy to render when i create model house in autocad..?

  • @nanokx yes, whatever software you use, 3ds max only wants a proper solid form, nothing else.

    Jai

  • @nanokx, but if you make a plan in auto-cad then import it in 3ds max and make it in it its easier to add Doors and windows.

  • Really nice work! It helped me a lot. Thanks from Brasil to all people in India!

  • Hi laske87, Arch and design materials are incorporate with mental-ray only. You'll have to switch to mental-ray from your default scanline renderer. (Press F10 and go to assign rollout and choose mentalray). You can also change your UI (User interface) if you always want to work with mental-ray thank you.

  • hi people! I came to the material but I do not see the option "Arch + design mental ray" (that red), the menu is standard, and when I open it there is no Arch + design! Where can I find? help me please :) by the way tutorial is great!!!

  • @laske87

go to the render opton or press F10( if u have a default key settings)......a small window pops out.......scroll down and press the assingn renderer option.....then change the production setting to mental ray

  • great tutorial ! dddeatach :)

  • Is there a reason you use bevel profile and not loft?

  • Hello gooberspace, sorry for late answer actually I am out of station that's why coudn't read your comments. I usually used loft to create cornice but bevel profile is great because you can manipulate it easily. Thank you
