hi, can you help me? in my material editor there are no logos mental ray, vray also does not appear when i've installed, how to bring it in materuial editor?
Thank you, you're really saving my life with this one here! That's exactly the tutorial I needed. So once again thanks for all the parts of the video.
it took me hours just to understand what you are doing that means you don't explain a lot am new to 3ds max and i found real troubles following you i mean how to import the texture ... and so on there some steps that you escaped and that's not cool
hey amazing.... i am getting to learn alot of stuffs .. between which version are u usidng ... n i m unable to get the material textures in my 3ds max ... pls help me out with dis ... :):)
@2010arief You can download Mental-ray materials from mrmaterialsdotcom. But make sure you use them properly to get the appropriate results. However these textures can be made in Photoshop.
Superlike !! I'm so glad.... after watching your tutorial.. I'm proud that teaching methods in India are better and well explained than any other country :) Kudos !!
is it normal for a final render to take 165 hours ? , and the lenght of the video will be like 15 mins . can someone please help me , i don't know what to do , isn't there a solution to shorten the time ?
Could you please explain why you enabled the gamma/LUT connection? I didn't quite understand from the video. Is it something I should do when ever i use maps (and why) or was it specific to this model/map?
@IPINALUGO Hi there, It's called deviations, When you import the object in 3ds max, one panel will come up, there is an option in that panel called deviations, (down to weld vertices option), minimum numbers will increase the smoothness and curves steps of the object.
Note : Do check your scale settings while typing deviation units.
Hi laske87, Arch and design materials are incorporate with mental-ray only. You'll have to switch to mental-ray from your default scanline renderer. (Press F10 and go to assign rollout and choose mentalray). You can also change your UI (User interface) if you always want to work with mental-ray thank you.
hi people! I came to the material but I do not see the option "Arch + design mental ray" (that red), the menu is standard, and when I open it there is no Arch + design! Where can I find? help me please :) by the way tutorial is great!!!
go to the render opton or press F10( if u have a default key settings)......a small window pops out.......scroll down and press the assingn renderer option.....then change the production setting to mental ray
Hello gooberspace, sorry for late answer actually I am out of station that's why coudn't read your comments. I usually used loft to create cornice but bevel profile is great because you can manipulate it easily. Thank you
thanks man, I use other 3d packages for modeling then import with in 3ds or obj format to max, I find other ach packages easier to customize plans to the last millimeter accurately.

its easy to render when i create model house in autocad..?
nanokx 1 year ago
@nanokx yes, whatever software you use, 3ds max only wants a proper solid form, nothing else.

@nanokx, but if you make a plan in auto-cad then import it in 3ds max and make it in it its easier to add Doors and windows.
