  • Nirvana!!!

  • sublime!!!!

  • Love this creepy melody!

  • two of the all time greatest, most well rounded guitar players to ever pluck a string. Sure, they were older, not exactly rock players, but their impact on and APPRECIATION for rock guitar cannot be overstated. Les Paul devoted several months to trying to find a certain young guitarist he had heard who blew him away only to find out the guy had been swept over to Great Britain to become Jimi Hendrix...

  • This is great. The Brian setzer Orchestra also do a great version of this,

  • if you liked this video....you should listen to Scotty Anderson's vesion (acoustic)...and while you're at it try Are You From Dixie....or maybe Pennies From Heaven.....These guys were true pioneers and Scotty has taken up the mantle in my book.

  • Invigorating,THIS IS LIVING

  • A three hour late night YouTube trawl finally paid off! This is pure gold! Thank you for this.

  • @runbambirun You're welcome!

  • @runbambirun

hehe, you could have just asked ME! lol, I have the album. (NOT CD!) lol

  • Best of the 20th century right here. The record books will reflect it someday. Yup yup.

  • Les Paul sounds at times "The Edge" from U2

  • @dochatfield1

you mean the edge sounds like Les Paul somethimes

  • @dochatfield1

you mean the edge sounds sometimes like Les Paul

  • @dochatfield1 don't you mean the other way around???

  • The album was called Chester & Lester. Great album. My favorite line between them was when Lester looked at Chet & said "Sounding good Mary". Then Chet replied "Why thank ya Honey". Priceless.

  • Great song. And what style.

  • what album / cd is this song on?

  • Which album is this record from?

  • this fuckin rocks

  • IHAN MIELETTÖMÄN HYVIÄ UKKOJA !!

  • Just goes to show ya the influence of Django. Both Chet and Lester considered Django their biggest influence -- and Chet and Les influenced a universe of guitar players (just start with Mark Knopfler for Chet; and Jeff Beck and Hendrix being influenced by Les Paul. Amzaing to me that there are millions of guitarists hugely influenced by Django, without even knowing his name. The flow chart pretty much goes back to Django Reinhardt.

  • This is one of my most favorite arrangements and performances of Chester & Lester!

  • Good!

  • Just the best!!!

  • he played in so many genres

  • Fellow Tubelers,

Les Paul left us a gift, far beyond his life. The benefits are innumerable, and contributes for good, in our world. He planted a seed, borne with music everyone can hear, learn, and share. There are rare ideas, of which not many will match. Thanks, Les Paul, and Chet Atkins.

    Best wishes.

  • greatest words I've heard of this god of a man I've heard. He directly impacted ALL of us guitarists and musicians

  • RIP Les and Chet..... I'm staring at my 60's Les Paul hanging on my wall with tears in my eyes... what a great legacy to musicians worldwide....

  • RIP Chet RIP Les

  • I had this on vinyl, and played it to death.

  • Les Paul has similar Django chops.

  • I never thought of that! You're right! It has something to do with the chording. Remember, Rienhardt basically only had the use of two fingers when chording because of his injury. What was Paul's technique?

  • These two great artists really stretched the envelope and made the guitar sing.

Every great guitarist since can thank

    these two for their success.

  • ....and those of us who are not-so-great guitarist thank these pioneers.... RIP....

  • Best song ever made and played by two of my favorite guitarists.

  • so delicious, i want to just gobble it up

  • Chester and Lester, Guitar Monsters indeed! Two of the all time best. If you listen to the albums they did together, the talk in between tracks in hilarious. Les has a wicked sense of humor.

  • Yeah, he sure does! But Chet gives him a run for his money!

My favorite? "Two dirty old men! If you can't make it one way, pornography on record!"

  • uh ya can't beat this by the way(in response to your info)

  • yeah !

  • This is otherworldly...incredible guitar duo!

  • Wonderful... superb guitar...

    Thanks bigeeezy :)

  • OMG....I LOVE CHET ATKINS. WOW..YOU REALLY ARE A KINDRED SPIRIT..it's FREAKY in a GREAT WAY mate...! GROOVY BABY!!!

  • Very COOL FREAKY, my lovely friend... we certainly know about freaky...

    *grin from ear to ear*

  • You're right. Hard to beat this!

    Ronan

  • Very,very good video-5/5

  • This is great!!

    5*****

    Thanks bigeeezy for the share!!!

  • buenisimo...Me gusta...Gracias por compartirlo...!!!!

  • This is, simply put, the best.

  • Yup. Chet and Les together...pretty darn hard to beat!

  • Sometimes it's not easy for non guitar players to appreciate the difficulty of those licks Chet pulls off..then when they pick up a guitar and try it...well, it's a different story!

  • @daffydoug I'm still learning and this is what i aspire to. Too many people are delusioned (not a word, i know!) by mediocrity when they learn

  • Watchin this with my Dad. Remember this album from when i was a kid. Playing guitar now I can really appreciate it.
