@Suprimemaster I know, I have Red Alert 3 and I've seen the previous trailers. The difference is that in Red Alert 3 without the Nazis, the allies of Germany didn't attack America. And without that attack, Japan gained power and better technologies. And then they attacked the Soviets and Allies. Red Alert is a good game. But I still prefer to play Tom Clancy's EndWar because the graphics are better.

Russia's equipment is substandard because Russia's economy cannot support a modern army of that size. And Russia has no deployment capability. Any actual war between the US and Russia would be sadly one sided in favor of the US.

@RedneckRapture One massive issue. ABMs suck so bad and are so easy to overcome when they're (as they are at the moment) based on U.S. soil. Their target prediction computers simply can't handle unpredictable moves so any chump who can connect a random number generator to a guidance system can evade them. They also aren't that numerous and considering the number of warheads and decoys the Russian military can drop on the U.S. M.A.D. is still very much in effect and pretty much always will be.

i dont know about you, but this is BEST INTRO to an RTS game EVER! btw, has anyone noticed, that soviet AI is way more easier to ambush and set up traps than allied one? hehe, i just love playing it online too as allies: i will build few GI-s and few allied tanks, enough to hold small force out and than i build LOTS of mirage tank and set them in formation around base with fire at will mode off (ya, u CAN do it). enemy thinks its safe to attack and... SUPRISE and i win the game with CS :)

@klas22joey I don't even know why they bothered alterating the statue of liberty losing it's head scene in this newer intro; they may as well have left it the way it was . Isn't it moreless the same result that it's already lost it's head? Ha such silly censorship besides in the long run what odds? The statue is still destroyed in the 1st Allied Mission and wait for it in Red Alert 3 the last Soviet Mission involves destroying the statue. A bit odd is all I'm saying :)

What country is this intro release from? US? In my intro scene, the Statue of Liberty is destroyed by the the rain of rockets coming from the Soviet ships. In this one, it doesn't get touched.

This game was released in 2001before the attacks, after the attacks people where offended by ANY depiction of attacks on new york and so Westwood edited it out... This is also why GTAIII's "New York" was renamed to "Liberty City"

It's kinda weird though now that I think about it. Of all the landmarks that could have been chosen to destroy in a video game, they chose the world trade center just MONTHS before it actually happend... I remember playing that mission after 9/11, I was in 3rd grade at the time and even then I thought it was messed up....

World in conflict is pointless to continue playing at all after you beat the campaign because of its simplicity, but red alert is fun as hell online, heck even in skirmish against the ai. (its a real shame with what they did with red alert 3, and removed mining ore. It changed the game far too much.)

Anyway I Bought Red Alert 2 and Tiberium Sun in GAME as they where in the sold out section on.

Offer loads of them and got them 3 for £15 ( I also got Empire Earth as part of that nothing to do with C&C but still a great game if stratagy is your thing)
