Honestly Southern Tier hasn't blown me away with anything of theirs other than the "Choklat" stout which is heavenly. Not as good as Rogues Double chocolate but comes in a very close second. Oak aged unearthly is to sweet and boozy, I did like the particular bourbon flavor it took on but other than that it's a bit sickening. I like their "Iniquity" imperial black ale though as well. Their vanilla bean stout is over the top sickening sweet. I'm not a big fan of Southern Tier over all.
almost bought this beer today ? what did u pay for it there? its 7.99 a bottle here in michigan. i ended up spending almost $50.00 on a mixed 12 pack lol bought some great beer though bells hopslam 10% abv, bells expedition stout 10.5%, founders breakfast stout 8.3%, old rasputin imperial stout 9%, founders old carmagean ale 9.8%, stone oaked arrogant bastard ale 7.2%. i also have two beers brewing sitting next to me.
hey. how you been. i love your reviews, and its been a while. and i got two in a row. sweet. southern tier is what i call the hidden gem of new york. you got to try there chokolot. outstanding. i havent had this one yet, so i guess ill check it out.
@yuichituba Ha it feels good to be back too. Havent had anything from port brewing, are the located in the west coast? If its anything like this im sure its a great beer.
That sounds really interesting. I really want to try more of their beers. If you want something from the west coast that you can't get I be up for a trade.
Hell Yeah! Nice to see The Sauce back in action! Reviewing a New York beer no less. I think Southern Tier is just as good, if not better than Dogfish Head and their beers dont sell for $20 a bottle.
Can you get their Choklat down there? If not I'll send you some, it's awesome!
Nobody can mask the alcohol better than Southern Tier!
@Chad9976 True Southern Tier beers have never let me down. And i did get a really good price on it. As far as the choklat i didnt see it at my store, and would be more than happy to review a beer sent to me! and that masking, i think that is the best hid alc in a beer ive tasted.

a great blend you can make is Southern Tier's Creme Brulee and their Choklat. I wish they would bottle it like that blended.

Yes, and it's nice having you guys back.
By the way, from how you described this beer, it sounds similar to Port Brewing's Hop15.

They're a San Diego brewery. They share the same warehouse as Lost Abbey, and right across the street from Stone Brewery.

@slm6025 heh. You've never had their Pumking or their Choklat - almost zero alcohol taste. Two of my all-time favorite beers.
