actually those shoes work well with skateboards. the only problem i had with them was that they rip real easily.

also if the you mess up on a trick and the board lands on your toes, it hurts like hell because the layer of cloth there is so thin. so be careful.

its a 50-50. truckstand is where you support the board with your front foot and stand on the truck with your back. and b4 people start yelling saying a 50-50 is a grind, its also a freestyle trick. look up aronl's trick tip on it.

i think you shouls skate in w/e you feel comfortable with. one of my freinds, hes a really country guy, he skate in boots. its all he feels comfortbale wearing and so he skates in them. and hes good enough to be sponsered by a local skate shop

I usually ride the Slip-ons or the Oldschool Vans. I mainly just do stuff like this (when I skate, mind you) and Bowl skating.

hate to tell you but those "gay slip ons" have the best grip on them of any shoe I've ever used. They're Vans, they have the Star of David on the bottom.

I've compared them to DVS, DC, Globes, etc..best shoe I've used.

It's called a footplant one-footed truckstand. The second trick u almost landed was the footplant one-footed truckstand wraparound. instead of putting your hand on it you have to slide it up your foot. It hurts my knee's too much to do them often.
