The increasing in number of Muscle Fibers is called Hyperplasia and increasing the thickness of the fibers is Hypertrophy and thats what we all do in the gyms everyday. Increasing in the number of fibers only comes before the age of 18-21 by hitting fitness facilities and train your body right and for some guys its a GIFT,after 21 you CANT BY NATURAL WAYS increase those numbers BUT you still can gain size (Hypertrophy),STRENGTH until the age of 35-40,SPEED untill the age of 26...STAY SHARP ;)

Dorian was simply a phenomenal contest bodybuilder. I have judged many IFBB shows in UK in 80s and 90s and the thing I notice about Dorian compared to other bodybuilders is 1. Out of the 7 compulsory poses he always has at least 3 as gimmes. It wasn't that hard to win 1 or two other comparisons. 2. He was also surprisingly good at his quarter turns. 3. He was harder tip of his toes to top of his head. Basically he was made for competitive bodybuilding. 93 Yates was best ever.

Say what you want about yates but he will always be remembered as a 6 time Mr Olympia and truly one of the sports greats!!

@2admturiggol Its supposed to be about who has the best flowing physique and most muscle to go with that, but YES I agree, I dont think Dorian should have won the Olympia 6 times no, but Ronnie Coleman didnt have a huge belly during his 8yr spand, maybe the last 2 but Ronnie alos had a well balanced physique from head to toe, Ronnie is the best ever, Flex Wheeler had the best Physique ever (My opinion) he was just out muscled by Ronnie, But yes i agree with u, Dorian wasnt that great!

@afgandominator Ronnie was never truly aesthetic. Dorian was for his first couple of wins. Ronnie is overrated imo, although in terms of raw thick mass he was the greatest ever.

@afgandominator.Mr A.D please allow me to add a little more . the 96 O was first to be strictly diuretic tested at the time . Dorian came in Shredded , his head looked like a skull ! like skeletor . Nasser , after being awarded third with his prize money was later DISQUALIFIED for failing test and money returned , this happened to one or two others . Ronnie however did not even make the top six , he was very very full but not lean enough by fifteen to twenty pounds of water ...and fat.

Anyway Dorians best shape 5ft 9" 272lbs 1996 german grand prix , by the way ronnie is there next to him and the video here is with flat clear lighting . . Top to toe he is absolutely peeled granite .Most agree this is best physique of all time for a competitive professional bodybuilder. Ronnie, by the way has always maintained that his best was and remains by far 1998 Mr.O @249lbs 5 ft 11". i saw that show , incredible. look up 1996 gp

@afgandominator. To see what i mean i'll give another example . A few years ago a good friend of mine competed in the EFBB british championship at age 21 . He won in dominating manner weighing 219 @ 5 ft 9lbs. he began his diet at at 231lbs. In the hardcore gym we trained at another very big guy began his diet ' 294lbs totally roided out and not fat . To be shredded he competed at ....206lbs and was later very humblw when he had been v arrogant. my point is Ronnie was holding plenty water ...
