  • Haters lol...good job bro. The thing is...in music (as far as performance), the theory u know or dont know doesnt matter as much as the music u're producing. That's the beauty of art. all u need is inspiration from above. U can lack formal education and still be the best pianist, painter, dancer, etc. So haters pls shush and let the man of God play :)

  • I JUST LOVE THE WAY YOU PLAY THINGS AND TEACH THINGS YOU ARE A BLESSING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • if you think he was too fast, you must really be a rookie and besides its a video folks, you can always pause and rewind..

    Great video chief.. Stay Blessed!

  • I just need to memorize those numbers..

Great video man, feels relaxing listening to this

  • What r chord progressions?

  • what keyboard is this

  • Norm, thank you for this lesson. Your teaching style is purrrrrfect.

  • wonderfull!

ps. at 1:59 "at one which is C shar 'P !!! hahah

  • Those chords are nice but if you don't incorporate them in a song, I think the real beauty of these chords are still a secret. Good job though

  • God bless you brother, i was blessed by your chords and i learnt em all. xoxo

  • Bro, it's easier to teach it as Db flat since you're calling out the Bb, Eb, Ab and so on. If it were C# sharp you would then say A#, D# and G# because C# sharp has all sharp keys....

Db, Eb, F, Gb, Ab, Bb and C is what you're playing. Db Major scale ;)

  • he taken some ALCOHOL :D

  • 9 triangle players

  • Thanks! BTW – you can learn to play the piano in half the time with new gadget that reads MIDI files.

    Google “Gizmag and PianoMaestro”

  • this is a gorgeous chord progression, a friend suggested I watch this to get inspired to write some more music..thank you for the enlightenment.

  • @tedmuss Thanks!

  • "Thank you Norman" for Sharing your GOD Given Talent!! And You for Sharing your TIME!! which is something you can't get back after it has been used, Thank you again for Using your TIME to Enlighten us who did not know this Number Progression.

  • Sounds good to me, C# is my fav key

  • Norman you are a very talented young brotha!!!! you rock...

  • Trsut me, gang, this guy can play !!

The proof of the pudding is when you can sound beautiful at 55 BPM, or as we say, "This guy can make one note swing !!".

  • You say it's a 3-6-2-5-1 but why does it start on a 4 (F)??

  • Hey man y don't you get sponsors to pay to be on your video. There are lots of videos that are not as helpful as yours and does not get as many hits as you do but they have sponsors and are get paid for their work. check out this link . he dont have halve the talent that you do but he has ads on all of his videos. youtube.com/watch?v=895YSaZBLdI

  • I love it. I am just a beginner, and i want to learn more. i need note that i can add to my worship line. thank you very much. 7nittygritty@gmail.com

  • Awesome chords..im gonna practice them..thanks!

  • could someone please answer one question. theory wise what is a good way to know what right hand chords will sound good harmonically with the progression?

  • Hey, thanks for taking the time to post the vid. I'm surprised that someone would have something negative to say. You handled that guy's comment with class!

  • hey bro sweet vid!! i dont play the piano i would love too!! but i play the sax so its just about impossible for me i do know some stuff on the piano and i would like to ask if u can give me the chords your hitting so i can get my fingering right. this will be very useful for me on the sax!! thanks!

  • This video is correct but he is using chord substitutions because the 3rd is minor

the 6 is minor but u are using a dominant substitution which u can do ,but theory wise the 6 is usually minor and the 3rd is usually minor 5th dominant and 1st is major

  • you learn dat 4rm jamel hartwell

  • Nice tutorial. just be careful with your notes. So you can be theory correct. There are no flats in C#. Make sure you are using G# for A flat or change the key to D Flat in which there will be no F# it will be G Flat. Stick with the keys that in the scale of the Key of the progression so your tutorial will have proper theory associated with it. But good job.

  • @m0nluv Now That's CONstructive critisism. Thanks...

  • This goes for all the other kats going over to Guitar Center and getting asked to leave the building..(CHECK OUT BATTLE OF THE KEYS...other kats getting it down to business)

  • Nice bro!

  • Sweet Chords normandm85! Real sweet!! Thanx.

  • progression in C# ******

    (correction of my earlier post)

  • This video should be banned - where did you learn your theory from? I bet you that school has already closed down.....

  • @sambarrister

    Thanks hater! lol

  • @normandm85 sounds soo nice

  • @normandm85 why do people get on here and destructively criticize? If he felt you were wrong and he knows the correct way... why not tell us. For those of us that would like to be sure about what we are learning. Instead of being an ass. But i guess that's what haters do? Right? Great video i like the way you played the chords out so that we could hear the timbre also instead of just spelling out the notes. Could you give the actual chords you play in each variation?

  • @giftedbrother I have no clue why they criticize man. But I'm guessing because of a lack of knowledge, but that's another subject for another day lol

  • @normandm85 The way i would normally play would be iii (minor 9) VI (13th) ii (minor 9) V (13th) I (Maj9)

  • @sambarrister ur so stupid then chords are nice

  • @sambarrister His theory sounds pretty good to me.... unless you're deaf, I think it sounds pretty good to you too... doesn't really matter where he learned his theory from, WHY? because it works.

  • @sambarrister Thanks man... just getting back into playing the Board and this was a big help..let the hater go ahead a hate...

  • i like this but can u speak a little louder. you go up and down in you tone

  • i like this but can u speak a little louder. you go up and down in you tone

  • why limit yourself to theory when you can create something new. theory are only idea, it doesn't mean you have to follow it. being creative in music is all that counts, if it sound good then use it. why limit yourselves to rules when you can go beyond that.

  • theres a fine lined relationship between theory and "pratical-playing". You need both elements.

  • I have studied music theory, and after all these years the greatest lesson i learned was that when it sounds this beautiful as you play these variations, who cares if the rules don't jive. you play wonderfully. Keep your music alive :)

  • Good lesson brother God Bless

  • thanks norman i really like these chords

  • Good breakdown however because of your dissonance, your progression is 6,2,5,1,4 in Ab. Keep up the good work!

  • Great video! Because of your dissonance Your progression is actually 6,2,5,1,4 in Ab. Keep up the good work!

  • these are some wonderful chords and god bless you but i hope u go further in your study of the theory behind your playing because you dont mix sharps with flats

  • very good stuff

  • Thanks for the help.... taking me to the next level in my playing... God bless him....

  • All the best Bro. Norman. Be blessed

  • this is an xp-80 right?? should i get one of these??

  • thank for breaking those chords down you really help me out

  • I wanted to know what are these keys for? is it to help people make there own melodies, if so how? help would be greatly appreciated.

  • If u are playin' any song and u notice that song follows those chords,you can of course use these chords...:}

  • Use it to groove with in C# and yes you can disect it and make up ur own melodies...

  • thank you!! I appreciate the tutorial

  • and u name the notes a lil fast... couldn really understand u

  • Cool, but you can catch my fingering for the notes right? Working on a whole bunch of stuff this summer
