Haters lol...good job bro. The thing is...in music (as far as performance), the theory u know or dont know doesnt matter as much as the music u're producing. That's the beauty of art. all u need is inspiration from above. U can lack formal education and still be the best pianist, painter, dancer, etc. So haters pls shush and let the man of God play :)
Bro, it's easier to teach it as Db flat since you're calling out the Bb, Eb, Ab and so on. If it were C# sharp you would then say A#, D# and G# because C# sharp has all sharp keys....
Db, Eb, F, Gb, Ab, Bb and C is what you're playing. Db Major scale ;)

Hey man y don't you get sponsors to pay to be on your video. There are lots of videos that are not as helpful as yours and does not get as many hits as you do but they have sponsors and are get paid for their work. check out this link . he dont have halve the talent that you do but he has ads on all of his videos. youtube.com/watch?v=895YSaZBLdI
could someone please answer one question. theory wise what is a good way to know what right hand chords will sound good harmonically with the progression?
Hey, thanks for taking the time to post the vid. I'm surprised that someone would have something negative to say. You handled that guy's comment with class!
hey bro sweet vid!! i dont play the piano i would love too!! but i play the sax so its just about impossible for me i do know some stuff on the piano and i would like to ask if u can give me the chords your hitting so i can get my fingering right. this will be very useful for me on the sax!! thanks!
This video is correct but he is using chord substitutions because the 3rd is minor
the 6 is minor but u are using a dominant substitution which u can do ,but theory wise the 6 is usually minor and the 3rd is usually minor 5th dominant and 1st is major
Nice tutorial. just be careful with your notes. So you can be theory correct. There are no flats in C#. Make sure you are using G# for A flat or change the key to D Flat in which there will be no F# it will be G Flat. Stick with the keys that in the scale of the Key of the progression so your tutorial will have proper theory associated with it. But good job.
This goes for all the other kats going over to Guitar Center and getting asked to leave the building..(CHECK OUT BATTLE OF THE KEYS...other kats getting it down to business)
@normandm85 why do people get on here and destructively criticize? If he felt you were wrong and he knows the correct way... why not tell us. For those of us that would like to be sure about what we are learning. Instead of being an ass. But i guess that's what haters do? Right? Great video i like the way you played the chords out so that we could hear the timbre also instead of just spelling out the notes. Could you give the actual chords you play in each variation?
@sambarrister His theory sounds pretty good to me.... unless you're deaf, I think it sounds pretty good to you too... doesn't really matter where he learned his theory from, WHY? because it works.

these are some wonderful chords and god bless you but i hope u go further in your study of the theory behind your playing because you dont mix sharps with flats

theres a fine lined relationship between theory and "pratical-playing". You need both elements.
