userspike you are absolutely right. I just got done using this thing for the first time and was jamming with a guy in London and I'm in Pennsylvania. It was amazing! There was absolutely no perceptible latency and the sound quality was exceptional. The service has even improved dramatically since this conference. I think it's only a matter of time after a little more aggressive promotion that this thing really blows up. I think it could even revolutionize the way music is performed.AMAZING
@3mphdk ok, now i'm trying to understand how that works. For example, with ninjam, they extend the latency to couple bars(lets say 8 bars), so you hear the other musicians signals 8 bars after they've played it. And than you play on their stuff, and they hear it 8 bars later. So far i got it. But now, if i have a TASCAM US-1641, witch has latency anyway, i'll play in perfect timing with the other users signal, but my track will get to NINJAM with my soundcard latency right, so off click right?
@vademax44 ...and if anyone say there shouldn't be any latency problem, how is that possible to have absolutely no latency with people thousands miles away from me with no extended latency!? Don't get this one....well, i guess i didn't get anything, but if anyone can help me figure out how it works, i'd appreciate it so much! you can answer me to vademax44 at hot mail com, and if by any chance i understand wtf is that, i'll let everyone know right here! thanks! Max
yeah, i wish they came back like the backstreet boys. although, the backstreet boys didnt last that long when they came back, but idk. just wish smash mouth was BACK!!
what the hell man, most people dont even know this exists,it should be promoted waaay more,i dont think people realize how amazing this is,you would think something like this would be a lot bigger and known, but sadly its not
I've been using their beta for a few months now and the latency isn't an issue. 30 milliseconds is the same distance that sound would travel from one end of a stage to another. Its especially helpful to play with headphones that way you get your time-feel down super quickly. I've recorded with lots of people-- it works best if you play with another musician in your own country.
hi guys, for those who have tried this, i understand that you need an XLR mic to jam with other people. but what if you have stand alone amp simulators like guitar rig or amplitube, is it still required?
You really need an audio interface but you can connect your instruments or mic directly to your computer with the proper sound car and input. You should really try it out. I mean, I was jamming in perfect time on a moog synthesizer with a guy in London playing a guitar and a backing drum machine. And I'm in Pennsylvania! Enough said. Check it out.
Sounds cool! If only i could play guitar better ide try it

Yes. You need a decent latency on your computer, say, like 6-7ms. And then it'll feel like you're jamming in real time.

Wow Steve's lost weight. I wish Smash Mouth would come out with a new album sometime soon. Hopefully one with some feeling.

I'd love to hear something similar to their first album.

I don't know how they deal with the latency, but it would be pretty amazing to play with people around the world....

Here is the math:
Speed of Sound = 1129 ft / sec
Width of stage : 30 ft
(30 ft) / (1129 ft/ sec) = .026572 secs = 26 millisec
