  • I think the music fits the original novels so perfectly. Traditional sword and sorcery doesn't translate to film well

  • Do you wanna live forever???... jumps

  • the first pic fits perfectly :')

  • nice goodnight music.

  • Skyrim~ :)

  • @RahNinjaBlade51 You get it

  • @Daitsdudes I did got it, and it was awesome~ :B

  • Reminds me of Gothic 1 :D (best rpg game ever)

  • This song makes me want to smoke a pipe full of green with a bunch of hobbits whilst taking a stroll through the shire, man. Love this song. So relaxing. One of the greatest songs from one of the greatest movies.

  • @ZedekOfLP101 I think you misread the title. This is from Conan the Barbarian.

  • @NoahesFrio I think you misread my post. Hence why I said "One of the greatest songs from one of the greatest movies".

  • @ZedekOfLP101 There were no hobbits in Conan the Barbarian.

  • @NoahesFrio Didn't say there was.

  • @ZedekOfLP101 You still mentioned them. They are irrelevant to this video.

  • @NoahesFrio Mr./Ms. "OxRoxable" posted something four days ago regarding this song reminding him/her of Gothic 1. You gonna pester him too?

  • @ZedekOfLP101 Calm down bro, I'm just trolling.

  • @NoahesFrio Yeah a lot of people say that when presented with a logical checkmate. Nice try.

  • @ZedekOfLP101 Why else would I bother you about comparing the song to Lord of the Rings? Besides it's not much a checkmate, I could just say "the difference is that he clearly said it reminds him ,where as you just started talking about it like someone who thinks Conan the Barbarian is related to Lord of the Rings."

  • Conan, Subotai, Valeria : pagan spirit beyond good and evil, they live intensely, they pray to the ancient gods who let them decide their own destiny and reward the brave

Snake cultists : brainwashed monotheists, their god wants an army of slaves, they desire to die for him and pray for the end of the world

  • Crom laughs at 6 people, laughs from his mountain.

  • @MrBastilleDay - We shall cast them out of Valhalla and laugh at them all! HAHAHAHAHAHA!

  • I see where Lords of The Rings got its musical inspiration from.

  • Playful, pleasant, well orchestrated and musically interesting to boot.

  • Nerdcast 251...hahahaha

  • ce genre de musique pourrai donner envie de retourner a l'epoque ou le monde savai ce que la loyaute voulais dire. un monde avec de l'honneur...

  • there a 6 women who have been over lamentated, maybe we should cut the cue from 300 soldiers to 200 per village wench

  • My favorites keep disappearing, fucking youtube.

Fuck youtube, I write 2 comments in few minutes and it prompts me with the captcha for the 3rd.

  • My favorites keep disappearing, fucking youtube.

  • At last! This is the one I was looking for... The Greeks have an sublime understanding of beauty in both music and form.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAA....

    *breathes*

    AHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAHA....

    OH GOD HIS FACE!

    HIS FACE...

  • greatest times in fantasy movies ever. "Legend", "Conan" , "Flight of Dragons" (animated) ( john ritter) best animated movie ive ever seen. " The Dark Crystal" and so many more. Why did this movement stop?......

  • lol, "Legend" is horrible.

I prefer "Conan" "Fire and ice", and "Krull".

  • whos that?? put him on the tree of woe!

  • "HAH! Crom laughs at ya faw weends!"

  • Ah I love this! The film is brilliant but this music... just wow! Makes me want to run through open lands with Subadi!

  • "My god is the everlasting sky...your god lives underneath him."

I love Conan's look when the thief says that to him! This music was the perfect choice for that scene.

  • This epic score soothes the lamentations of the women.

  • Naheulbeuk :)

  • Greatest music ever.

  • Basil Poledouris!!!!!!!!!!

  • i really think a lot of these people got the thief part confused-----he was more of a SLAVE who stole a few, but important things, and than became or also was all of the other things

  • does anyone know the instrument that comes in at :15 and the 2nd one that comes in at :46 ??

    Thanks! = )

  • @tastethejace Could be a deep Chello buddy. Can't be sure though.

  • @tastethejace I'm probably wrong but I'd say a oboe at :15 and a traverse flûte at :46

  • @tastethejace

    It's a bassoon ;)

  • i live in the country area, i play this music when i arrive in town

  • This remains my favorite song in existence. It always moves me to tears.

  • I think the name from this comes from where they play it in the movie as opposed to any connection between the two words in the title. When it is played, Conan and Subotai are talking about their gods, then they are running through the wilds and come upon civilization, ancient and wicked.

  • @SirKonnery i believe this comes from either the beggining village scene, or when subotai and conan find the village........before valeria......and also before punching the camel lol

  • @ADMJCXNK97fan

It's where they come across that city.

  • @Nitronick YESS!!! that's the one!!

  • Next to Enrico Morricone this guy's the best.

  • not only zelda, it also sounds a bit like lord of the rings, too

  • why do I think of zelda when I hear this? Hey, it's a great game! about as much as this!

  • @DestinyHeroFlamer

hehe i know why you think of zelda. they used his music for the official Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess Trailer

  • @Rendarg, that, and the fact that the theme just has an amazing, adventerous feel to it, much like the Great Sea theme in Wind Waker

  • @DestinyHeroFlamer

I hear strong similarities with Chrono Cross.

  • It's a wrong misconception that Theology only makes sense with civilization. Theology is the relation between "human" and "divine", and exists for much longer than any human civilization. There's Theology since the moment the first ape-man looked at thunder and didn't understand what/who caused it.

  • Great work, master Poledouris.

  • @MrPharn i can only agree :)

  • Great work, master Poledouris.

  • This sequence of songs brings a tear to the eye. Take a look at the author's first pic of Arnie in this video.. This is Schwartzenegger's finest moment in my humble opinion. Ironically pretty much his first moment. There's T-800 from The Terminator, Theres, Quaid/Hauser from Total Recall, theres Ben Richards from The Running Man, Dutch from Predator and all the other similar parts but nothing like the the part he played in Conan. A wonderful scripted and acted film and of course.....

  • Comment removed

  • A wonderful scripted and acted film and of course.. Basil Poledouris. When a fan of Arnie mention one of his films to 90% of their friends they tend to get laughed at as to them he's Kindergarden Cop.. Fair enough, but to us fans who know, he was Crom's finest son. If you dont belive me, then to hell with you :-)

  • for the first time ever i want a 5000 watt stereo in my car!!!!

  • This tune so reminds me of the time of the neolithic period

  • I love this song, when I first watched Conan I already loved the soundtrack..!

  • HAHAHAHAHA I was looking at the comments then I scrolled up and saw the picture and shit my pants.

  • thief, warrior, barbarian and king

  • The best soudtrack for movies have been made in the 80 with orchestra.

This song rememore me good memories.

  • Crom!

  • Contemplate this on the tree of woe.....*Bites vultures neck"arrraghaargh"* this is one of the best songs in the whole movie love that part when hes crusified and he sees subotai comin over the hill when he laughs i cant help but laugh too

  • @MrSmakx haha yeah, i laugh by just reading your comment, i see the scene in my head=)

  • That would be actually song called: Tree of Woe, it is on the expanded sountrack.

Tree of woe allthough has parts of this same melody.

  • That's my favorite theme in the whole soundtrack. I've probably listened this track a billion of times since the move came out.

  • Great movie too...except for part 2. And the soundtrack makes it one of the best movies.

  • Civilisation, ancient and wicked... Have you ever seen this before?

  • best movie soundtrack ever...

  • Crôm ...

    R.I.P T_T

  • @Phlack and mubirshu..do you either of you have any idea what horrors lie behind those walls?

  • @Abobojo

    No...

  • Then YOU go first!

  • Why do you say that?

  • I used this song in my wedding after ceremony by judge took place, right after Wagner's Tristan und Isolde and Satie's Gymnopede, as a hapiness and celebration song and it worked really fine, it was beauty, open sky, a fountain, trees... just perfect.

  • I'll bet it was just gorgeous!

I had a similar idea, although my parents laughed at the idea.

  • well we have several stages.

    1.pre

    2. intro ceremony (Satie's Gymnopede)

    3. whie ceremony as background > The Planets-Venus, Wagner and Gymnopede as encore

    4. for salutations and greetings this from Conan's, a nice guitar from B Sabbath and some of string bt Dvorak.

In the end it all mixed very beauty, pepople were very heart touched and I do enjoyed my special and diferente wedding.

  • IMMORTAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    R.I.P.

  • anyone care for some black lotus..........stigen the best

  • This better not be harga! (or however it's spelled) LOL

  • i would sell harga to slayer such as you lol

  • I salute the 38,000 people who have watched this clip !

  • from krom, i salute the 39,000

  • im a wizard mind you!

  • just epic ...

  • conan has the best fantasy movie music ever!

  • This music makes you feel your spirit is departing from your body... at least for a moment.

  • @antonoine31 since i've been listening it for about an hour, i wouldnt call it "a moment"

  • Bellissima

  • What a great film. Beautifull sound track also.

    I love Conan

  • ha ha

  • Really great song, and awesome movie!

  • but the answer is actually quite simple: everytime subutai had tried to steal some conan got it all wrong and knocked them out barbarian style, just like that camel! hahaha

  • hahaha I loved that moment when he knocked the crap out of that Camel and just laughed. Also in the second movie when the same one spit at him and he just taps it's head like a hammer and the Camel went night night LOL

  • haha you´re right you crazy wolfman

  • You know, if they were such good theives, how come they didn't steal a couple of horses to ride instead of running themselves from city to city? LOL

  • My favorite score of all time!!! His music fits so perfect with the movie!

  • i was blasting this in my car the other night. i got some weird looks from people, but i know they are just jealous

  • I have an MP3 disk with almost every Basil Poledouris song on it and I blast it all the time. So, your not alone!! LOL

  • @CanadaEh1969 They must be yes! Lol What a great piece of music! One of my favorite from that soundtrack. =)

  • @CanadaEh1969 hahahahahaha jealous they think you re crazy, but this movie and all the soundtracks in it are ^

  • @CanadaEh1969 I've done it too. Some people just don't get it

  • @CanadaEh1969 right on man; they're either jealous or just do not get it...

  • @CanadaEh1969 I wish I had a car to blast this music and so many others in an act of educating people´s ears.

    I agree with you,the are jealous :D

  • @CanadaEh1969 WOW 65 people agree with me! thanx yall!

  • @CanadaEh1969 probly one of the best comments i've ever seen on youtube.

  • @Choboran I thank you. yes, my humor has won the hearts of a few here on youtube. wow, i also cant believe i said that a year ago... time flies

  • @CanadaEh1969 Your just a regular everday nerd bad ass arn't ya?

well then we got some shit in common.

Riders of Doom ... I got some wierd looks too =P

  • @CanadaEh1969 lol have u tried anvil of crom?

  • @CanadaEh1969 word dude!

  • @CanadaEh1969 "They were probably wondering why you werent listening to justin beibitch or some rap music!" I for one understand where you are coming from, I would buy me some beer and go out to the high country and listen to this music while drinking beer and sitting around a warm camp fire! Then if I needed more wood for the fire I would chop it up just like Conan would do his enemies!

  • @morrocyclon theres that name again, whos Justin Bieber?

  • LOL weird photo in the beginning but awesome soundtrack.

  • That photo owns, berserk!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It looks kind of hilarious LOL.

  • It's when conan charges Rexor, after busting the princess out of Thulsa Dooms den.

  • Just love how this song breaks out at around 1.20/1.25

    Masterwork!

  • why didnt they use this songs in Age of Conan??

  • i always put that songs when im playing with conan hahaha;)

  • because age of conan sucks

  • I loved the Marvel comics of Conan back in the '70s. They came out too rarely though. I remember reading one which I now understand to have been a version of Howard's (Conan's original author) novel Pirate Queen of the Black coast. Actually, it was a reinterpretation of the Heart of Darkness.

  • beautiful.......

  • Stunning then and now.

  • Best part in my opinion is from 1:18 to 1:45 ...makes me dream

  • Totally agree with you Feyzzel!

  • Awesome music by Poledouris. Are there more movies with soundtrack composed by him?

  • Oh heck yeah =D Red Dawn, Hunt for Red October, and Quigley Down Under among many others

  • Also Robocop and Starship Troopers...

    And the blue lagoon, lol...

  • looong list of compositions.

check IMDB, the list is long. and every second of it is worth listening to.

  • ☻/

    / \ Hail Basil! RIP

  • very underrated

  • excellent piece of music great composer

  • I have no worlds for this, just brilliant!

Basil was a great composer =)

  • What's wrong with you ppl? Are you mentally sick or what? This is just so good movie music! Basil Poledouris was great musician!! Give respect to him!!

  • @magemaatikko Dude he is a genius, and the most modest one I have ever seen. Watch his interview on the Conan the Barbarian DVD. He acts like this score was a "practice" or something he doesn't really want to advertise. This was his fucking FIRST sound track ever! How many people can say they could produce something this intricate, intelligent, impressive, and epid.

  • @horriehomepage Yeah, agreed but he was a genius, he was taken from us so now we have to hear those hollywood dumbasses who dont have a clue how to make good movie music!!

  • Godlike track. Thank you Mr P.

  • ya :) realy good music

  • good music. I really enjoyed

  • ...And for the record, that last comment by yours truly was aimed at LTstudios' comment. xD

  • Best soundtrack ever!

  • agreed ......... iam really missing basil....his music have soul :(

  • RIP Basil. Fantastic soundtrack.

  • HAHAHAHA! Totally freakin' hilarious! XD

And say whatever the fock you wish of the Conan movies, they were awesome if you just turned your brain off and enjoyed them. ;D

  • YouTube's amazing for a bit of drama.

In any case, Conan The Barbarian has THE BEST music ever for a film.

  • I am SUBOTAI!! Thief...and archer. I am arcanian, the great order of pilot.

  • give me a sword, and maybe not die in hunger, but in COMBAT!

  • I love this music! Sadly, before I could them, someone I know ordered it online for me and then told me it would take about 11-13 days for them (bought over Amazon) to send it off!

God alone knows when the heck it'll arrive!

Oh well, that's the UK for you.

I come from Hong Kong, and find it's like moving from Heaven to Hell.

Apologies to UK residents, but that's really how I feel.

  • as a uk resident i know i should feel offended, but your probably right. sad

  • why should anyone from UK feel offended. The UK is an embarassing place to be. I escaped it in 1969 to get to Australia. It was bad then.

It must suck Kroms balls by now.

  • "it must suck kroms balls"? if u escaped in 1969 u must be atleast nearly 40. and your using terms like that. yep you can tell uve been livin in oz.

  • lol 1 actually sonny. And I dont waste my sophisticated English on You tube yobs like yourself. You just get the takeaway version. Cheap and nasty. Your country is a pit. Simple as that. Overcrowded, full of simpletons who believe Coronation Street is the height of culture. You cant paint an old barn and call it new. You live in a country that has no cultural identity of its own left. old Brown banned the St George Cross flag for fear of offending the Muslims. Lol....enjoy.
