  • the ninja of the cats

  • Truly, you will never believe this, but even I have seen a huge black cat, either a panther like this, or a puma, in my local forest in England, leaped across the path in front of me very early one morning when out with my dog, no mistaking the movements of a cat!Spoken to one or two people over the years, quite a common sighting really, how amazing is that! Didn't say anything at the time, who would want people to come in hoards and look, and frighten such a beautiful creature away!

  • Uhh ... guys ... the glass has a slit across it ... sure you don't wanna fix that ? :(

  • It is a leopard. Even though the black leopard is black, he still has his spots. You can see them when he walks away.

  • calling up demons from the underworld!

  • Hairball? Thats the sound a cat makes when it has a hairball not a roar.

  • it's a leopard. jaguars have bigger heads, longer bodies, shorter legs, and shorter tails.

  • was that not a black leopard?

  • sounds like a V8 engine!

  • thought it was a donkey for a sec =D

  • I went to the Bronx Zoo this past summer and I saw the two black jaguars they had. They were just lazing around doin' nothin tho lol. I don't think this kitty was roaring either hehe..

  • Panther is leopard (usually black)...

  • Hairball.

  • is about to vomit like a cat...

  • He was actually just coughing a bit. Most panthers make a quick rowr-rowr sound.

  • Hairball

  • Imagine hearing that at night deep in the jungle.

  • he/she was actually clearing out a hairball... i have a cat lol

  • its a black leopard у рэтардс

  • Panthers are bad ass

  • sounds like an ape

  • It's not roaring... it's dry heaving..

  • they do that when they feel sick, its their way of gagging

  • Of course when I go to the Bronx Zoo he was sleeping -_-

  • Sounds like bowser :\

  • I thought he was about to throw up. My moms dog makes that same noise when he throws up

  • @Brandonpeterg2Gmail ah ah ah ! I thought same , my dogs used to do that after having eaten boiled chicken skin

  • @Brandonpeterg2Gmail LOL,I was thinking the same thing because my old house cat made those sounds too.

  • @Brandonpeterg2Gmail Lol HAIRBALL!

  • ITS GUENHWYVAR!!

  • beatboxing panther!! xP

  • wow MAGESTIC:o

  • Sounds like Bowser XD

  • or hes coughing n sick

  • HE'S TAKING PANTHER POWER A LITTLE TOO SERIOUS!

  • good ol' panther smokes too much :(

  • Ya, hair ball. Not a roar. See it licking its lips after it does it too? Haha, my house cats do the exact same thing.

  • ...sounds like the noise my cat makes before she pukes

  • Not a roar clearly

  • It's not s roar. It had a hairball but they were unable to get it out. Trust me lol. Look at there stomach. That's the key. Also the wheezing is them dry heaving to get the hairball or puke out. In this case, it was dry heaving so it was a hairball. When they puke it sounds like the noises we make.

  • pretty pitfull roar i guess i could not roar if i was caged up.

  • sorry i ruined your black panther party

  • the only sound u dont want to hear when hiking...

  • it's a leopard

  • Panthers can't roar... there's only 4 roaring cats: lions tigers cheetahs and jaguars.

  • @primagrace24 cheetahs? I think you got some problems with your facts.

  • @primagrace24 Only the cats in the panthera family roar. There is only 4. Lions (Panthera leo), Tigers (Panthera tigris), Jaguars (Panthera onca) and Leopards (Panthera pardus). Cheetahs are Acinonyx jabatus. Please double check your fact before post because it's obvious you didn't.

  • BAGHERA!!!!!!

  • this looks like it is the size of the austrlian black panther there is not one in captivaty.....yet but that is becose were focest on killing it then chacing it be cose there is ownly sitings never capturs

  • This isn't roaring. Its a mating call. Saw it on Big Cat week :)

  • Sick animal....2much smoking cigarettes....

  • i expected a RHA RHA RHAUWWR

  • Hey! I jus realize Ive never seen a documentary or adventure flick made on panthers ..hmm National Geographic is racist??

  • ... my kitten roars worse then him...

  • Coughing?

  • Roar? More of a cough or vomit. Probably a hair ball. Which has already been suggested a million times I just realized.

  • @TRUFFLENATOR umm dont call people idiots because you know nothing. there is no suck thing as a panther, thats just a black jaguar

  • it was trying to beat box lol

  • thats a grunt, a typical sound of the jaguar

  • @Cheetree1 a leopard can also be a "black panther" as well right? Like a black leopard from the jungles of asia

  • @lespaulbrawl Yeah, leopards can be panthers as well. Black panther is a name given to any large cat that has the recessive gene that produces a black variety. Funny thing though - they still have their spots. The markings are a darker shade of black an can be seen in the right light. Even though the video quality isn't that great you can still see the spots on this animal.

  • lol almost looked like he was trying to mimic a monkey XD like "oh dam they spot me, i better be a monkey"

  • IT WANTS TO VOMIT.

  • nothing like a real jungle

  • @19Jones91 Because you have been to one ?

  • When I first saw this video I was like "Eww. He's gagging.".

  • hair ball

  • Cattle ranchers were shooting jaguars so a Billionare named Rabinowitz bought the cattle ranch to stop the slaughter. He learned to like jaguars because as a child he saw one at the Bronx Zoo.(CBS 60 minutes)

  • @artphot His name is Rabinowitz? Is that like Madonna or Prince? Just one name? The billionaire formerly known as Rabinowitz.

  • @artphot you have it all wrong, Alan was not a billionaire, he started out working for animals and he was sent south to do a study for Jaguars, soon, he partnered up with Thomas Kaplan, who IS a billionaire and they formed Panthera.

  • That's a Zoo animal, not a Panther.

  • Sounds like he's dropn a load....

  • that's exactly what a panther's roar sounds like, morons. not everybody gets the big, clean voice of a lion. xD

  • Stomach hurt?

  • maybe his stomach hurt?

  • well that's the closest thing to a roar the leopard can perform. It's like a series of coughs. That sounds like sawing of wood in the forest.

  • hmmm someone eat a bird?????

  • Hair Ball!

  • Gassy? Is it Gas? its gas isn't it?

  • Hairball Incoming!!!

  • It's bagheera :P

  • @pilotmcv haahah yeah :)

  • @pilotmcv hehe yeah :P

  • Hair ball =/

  • Roar? He has the hiccups.

  • what exactly is a black panther??? is it a black leopard, puma or jaguare???

  • @AMRavenF Technically, all big cats are panthers as they come under the genus panthera (panthera leo = lion, panthera tigris = tiger ect.)

'Black panthers' can be either leopards or jaguars which have a genetic mutation giving them a 'melanistic' black coat. There are a number of other cats that can become black due to mutation such as pumas and servals as you stated.

In my eyes theyre melanistic leopards or melanistic jaguars. Any animal expert would flip out if you called them panthers :)

  • @stephenpprice well i don't care im just gonna call them panthers.

  • is it farting?

  • Thats the roar of an animal kept in a cage :P

  • NIGGER PUSSY!

  • my cat dose that when it has a hair ball

  • I thought they say ROOOAAAAAAARRRRR

    :( guess not

  • that happens to my cat when he's about to throw up

  • :'(

  • sounds like it's choking. :D

  • Fucking Cool !

  • Dont sound like a roar more like a hair ball! lol

  • @NaChOhOfEr HAHAHA......that is what i thought too...lol

  • Hairball alert

  • owe my ears

  • I'm pretty sure it was just gonna hurl...

  • got the hicups lol

  • That was actually a grunting sound, and I think this panther is really a black leopard.

  • more like puking panther.

  • sounds like a donkey

  • It looked like he was about to puke... -___-"

  • I have been to this panther section. When they open their mouths to yawn, be g

  • Black "panthers" are actually leapords with a specific gene that makes their fur black.

  • This sound is called "pook", only panthers jaguars and tigers do this sound

  • i'm pretty certain that was just a hairball my friend...

  • yeah that was def. a hair ball. haha. cats do that all the time.

  • Looks like my cat when she has hair balls.

  • this sound like he was going to hacking up a fur ball..

  • the most powerful animal ever created.

  • Its not a Panther. Its either a Jaguar or a Leopard.

  • It's a leopard. They often make this sound. Jaguar is robuster with wider chest and mouth and shorter tail

  • I have a black panther on my arm.

  • This is the typical sound of a leopard.

  • some animals in the zoo, are rescued from for exemple: an bad breeder. Then its good that they are living in the zoo. But i cant help it, every time i see these wonderfull animals behind bars. It makes me just sad, they belong in the wild.....

  • @TheVriezenveen they belong in the wild? where's the wild you're speaking of? there's no such thing as the wild... every place has already been inhabited by humans a long time ago.

  • @LoveOlderWomen you need to get out more often then...

  • people who say zoo's are abusive to animals are just stupid. most zoo animals are born in the soo, or brought there at a very young age. so ts all they know, and they are used to thier surroundings. and they are taking care of very well. i used to work at a zoo, most zoo workers are very loving, so i fail to see how they abuse animals. so what if they have limited space. they are treated better then they would be in the jungle thats for sure

  • @alexxpalmer but being expose to a lot of pepole they can be bullyed

  • @alexxpalmer thank you for being the only other reasonable person i see

  • I jsut recently smoked with a black panther ......

  • Hairball...

  • That is not a roar.

  • @mrceebees14 Lions , tigers , jaguars , leopards - none of them roar . They ' chuff ' . Chuffs are small bursts of roars . Roars actually do not even really exist in these animals . No , it is not a roar , but it is not a little kids Lion King movie either .

  • @MrFloppywaffles actually your wrong. Lions, tigers, jaguars, and leopards all can roar. A lion's can be heard 5 miles away. Actually, they can't purr. The lesser cats like the mountain lion, serval, and cheetah, they can purr. Tigers and Snow leopards are the only cats that can chuff. So in conclusion, the big four cats can roar, but they can't purr. Wikipedia

  • @MrFloppywaffles the big four cats as you stated actually can roar, they just can't purr. The lesser cats like the serval and cheetah, they can purr. Also, tigers and snow leopards are the only ones who can chuff.

  • It looks really skinny. I've always seen black panthers to be much more muscular than that :/

  • Hair ball ftw.

  • sounded like an ass

  • he's still there? I grew up watching this panther at the bx zoo

  • whats he loling to?

  • That is not a panther, it is a melanistic (black coloration) jaguar (panthera onca).

    They are not the same.

The cat known as a panther (Puma concolor) is the largest cat that purrs, but it connot roar. The genus panthera consists of lions tigers leopards and jaguars they roar but do not purr. the coughing barking sounding roar in the video is typical of the jaguar.

  • Humans shit ,this animal and all other exotic animals belong in the nature not in a zoo !!!

  • you all have obviosly never been to the Bronx Zoo! the place is amazing! they don't have animals in cages, they put them in identical looking environments. yes, this panther is behind glass but inside his enclosure it looks completly natural like a real jungle.

  • for the ones who say this is animal abuse, you all have obviosly never been to the Bronx Zoo! the place is amazing! they don't have animals in cages, they put them in identical looking environments. yes, this panther is behind glass but inside his enclosure it looks completly natural like a real jungle. that thing he's walking on is a realistic tree branch.

  • it was doing an impression of the orangutan :D

  • kitty ! :D

  • that wasnt roaring. he was trying to cough up something

  • @artphot If I saw someone shoot a big cat on sight, I'd break their neck where they stood. And let the other cats eat him.

  • sksmswi that is what I thought too

  • the zoo staff ought to be on the look out, when my cat starts doing that motion and making weird sounds i get some beautiful little presents in the morning. this guy's huge, so i can't even begin to think how big those presents are...

  • That sounds surprisingly like a donkey's bray.

  • FUR BALL!

  • That WASNT a roar

  • hairball

  • Its like barking.

Not the little barking but the panther.

  • Who else caught the pentagram under his stomach at 0:05

  • @chuckstranquility Lol in the background, thats funny.

  • @chuckstranquility Puleeze. There are no "pentagrams" on this cat. It's not Beelzebub; it's a nocturnal hunting cat, that is why it is black.

  • sounded like a hairball

  • beat box bitch

  • That is a black java leopard. There is no such animal as a "black panther."

  • @quapaw1958 the majority of the world disagrees

....Okay, glad I got that out of my system.

  • giant furball

  • That wasn't a growl, sounds like he was about to throw up.

  • The panther was either about to cough something up or throw up. Not roaring =P

  • sounds more like a hairball

  • "groan groan groan"...wait why everyone staring at me? *swiftly walks away*
