John is right to say Platypuses. Platypus was first Greek then Latinized then anglicized, so it would be technically incorrect to say Platypi. In Latin if you have a originally Greek word then there are these weird messed up endings you use for it and using "i" isn't one of them. If you want a correct English way of saying Platypus plural it'd be either Platypuses or Platypus *i'd go for the latter since it would make life easier* but the more correct way is saying Platypodes.
