This was done pretty well. I know this was posted over 2 years ago, but I'm jst now watching it. I'm sure by now you've goteen a new amp, because that's half your problem. The OTHER half of your problem happens to be your recording equipment. I would've liked to see a litle bit of improv, as well, because that's what separartes run-of-the-mill guitarists from artists. I can't give this video 5 stars, unfortunately, but I CAN give it 3 or 4 because, as a musician I can understand the time needed.

the gtar that you can hear for the first 30 seconds of this video is a bass, it sounds quite deep. i play the lead part with my electric guitar. main differences to notice between eletric and bass is how they sound and also basses generally have 4 strings, even tho sum have 5 and 6, whereas electric generally have 6, then agen sum can have 7 and even 12 :)

lol at the end of the day there are only 12 notes (thats including the flats/sharps from A to G) so there are going to be similarities between pieces of music. there are only a finite number of chords and an even less number that actually sound well wen played after each other or simultaneously :)

well the music creator used a MIDI to create the soundtrack and covnerted them to mp3 format, or whatever was used in the game. i have the actual powertab midi files created by the composers of the music for sonic games; Nakamura Akito and Nakamura Masato

Actually that's 100% NOT how it works. Genesis games do not use MP3's or MIDI's or anything remotely similar to either. Genesis's use a combination of FM synthesis and PCM modulated digital audio. Music for genesis games are hand converted from sheet music into pitch/duration/type triplets that are compressed into whatever format the game manufacturer uses to store the data on the ROM.

i have the powertab equivalent files for the artists Masato Nakamura and Akito Nakamura. they sound more or less identical and the instrument sounds used by the transcriber are very similar. there are no 'guitar pro' copy versions floating around that are anywhere near as good. but i believe that the powertab files have probably been transcribed directly from the sheet music or a professional musician.
