ASsalam alakaum, basically you have a friend that is only a friend b/c of his actions, you like that he is a religious person, which is why you like to be around that person, and likes you for that same reason. You guys learn and trust one another, all for the sake of allah, if that person was not muslim, you would not like him.If he was not religious and didnt pray, you wouldnt like him etc.. And allah and his messengers know best, inshallh that helps
