Monsanto roundup has been shown to cause birth defects in animal tests. Frankly I wouldn't touch any Monsanto products until I had completed a lot of serious research.
Kind of disproves the theory that we need all those chemicals to grow more food, doesn't it. Good video, I had not idea that "organic compost" could have all that junk in it.
I've had this problem since 2006. I always bought the big brand organic compost to grow my veg in the UK and noticed crops were becoming smaller and more mutated. I know of hundreds of others with the same problem. We petitioned the govt who reluctantly banned the sale for a year. Then brought it back with tiny labels warning that the product should not be used on pasture land as it "may" cause problems for whoever uses the manure.Still can't buy organic compost that produces a good crop.
I live in Vancouver BC Canada and we've (my plot and some local farms) just come off a horrible potato blight. Did anybody else in my area get that this year ?
I bought 2 different types of commercial soil for my Mom's patio garden and one of them was an absolute disaster, nothing grew in it and most of the transplants look like crap after 3 1/2 months. I compost at my little community garden plot and I don't have a problem, everything looks great.
paul...had a friend get grass clippings for his garden.the clippings came from a yard that had put fertilizer with weed killer in it so the lawn would "look nice".the weed killer residue in grass clippings killed his entire garden in a matter of days...or thats the our conclusion .thanks for takeing time to make videos.
I had always gotten well composted horse manure from an arena near here and my veggies grew wonderfully.
A year ago I made the mistake of getting bags of manure from costco. All of a sudden my gardens were full of poison hemlock!! I had to get rid of all the soil from my gardens.
Not having learned my lesson, I got a bag of peat moss mix from costco last spring. Nothing grew in it. Now I know why. I have to get rid of all the soil again.
@enchantedsb actually, unless all your food is organic, you don't know what chemicals are being introduced into your compost. My horse's manure makes great compost only last year herbicides were sprayed on their hay that ruined my veggies )-: probably clopyralid or similar
