  • 0:50 - Basket Case!!!

  • No wonder Keith liked to refer to Mick as "disco boy"! But, unlike a lot of Mick's solo dance records, this actually sounds good, great guitar, horns and attitude. Always thought "Under Cover" was a bit under-rated. Either way, it's fun seeing a remote the size of a paver block and a bathroom sink with separate hot & cold spigots; 1983 has been preserved forever here.

  • I fucking love how the guitarist dudes play with their guitars even though this horrid crapper of a song barely got a riff to talk about. Rolling Stones should sod off and die already.

  • A MI MODO HUMILDE DE APRECIAR LA MUSICA ESTA ES LA MEJOR CANCION DE TODA SU COLECCION DE ROLLING STONES.

  • "Undercover" ended my following of the Stones.

  • TOO MUCH BLOOD!!!!!!!

  • rolling stones suck so bad.... just went here because of issei sagawa

  • Comment removed

  • beautiful blood, undercover on the night the best albulm

  • Undercover of the night video shows even more tension...

  • Mick and Keith were not getting along at this point in their careers .... you can see in the video

  • woww, the creature off the basket comes from the movie Basket Case by Frank Henenlotter or am i mistaking? Helluva video, thank you John Landis & thriller but wot a generous dose of rejoice wowwowwow

  • bleeech too much blood!

  • I love this song, dammitt.

A Latin beat, kinda like Under Cover

    Peace

  • Bet they filmed this the same night as Undercover of the Night - just changed clothes ! lol

  • There would not be any groove at all without Bill Wyman`s amazing bass!

  • DROSS

  • Inspired on Issei Sagawa.

  • v This

  • This song is actually about a Japanese killer (Issei Sagawa) who murdered a woman in his apartment in France, and ate her; as the lyrics state,

  • What the hell is that thing that comes out of the basket at 0:50? A mummy?

  • Who's the gent at 5:33 supposed to be? O.o

  • ya gotta love that remote control for the tv,by the way grooving tune

  • I bet Keef wishes that chainsaw was real...

  • I looked up this song because it was a calling card left for a murder in a book I just read, called "The Killing Song" by P. J. Parrish. Awesome book you should read it!

  • This is based off what Issei Sagawa did to Renee Hartevelt?

  • Who's the gent at 4:51 supposed to be?

  • 6:04 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA. wow Mick you're one crazy mofo.

  • dedicated to F..k NATO!!

  • I wanna dance!!!!....this is a great song from the neverending stones....

  • Oh, I get it, she's drinking a "Bloody Mary" ha ha.

  • This Song is so awesome, freakin love T

    he Rolling Stones

  • This is so bad. I see Rocks Off on the side of my screen... I'm gonna click on that and pretend this era never happened.

  • @hotfudgemoney Ah, but the video was pretty cool. Keith and Ronnie chasin' Mick with chainsaws! At least they're going after the culprit of this song. Funnily enough, I kinda like this tune. I like Funk as well as Rock. Not their best tho' of course.

  • @hotfudgemoney fuck what's on the screen.listen to the riff ,hey man it's the STONES .!!!cool .

  • Comment removed

  • Why do I think Keith actually wanted to take a chainsaw to Mick's head about this time?

  • Bartok intro with snippets of the "Basket Case" - better than the song itself.

  • maybe we need to look underground?

  • It is me or does the girl at the beginning look a bit like Brooke Shields ? Intentional?

Great song...I remember it well and I have to say that I never remember seeing this song's video on MTV during that time, ever. It must have been black listed at the time.

  • :O... the song that speak of Issae Sagawa........... what a fucker

  • I've got this on vinyl and a few years when I was a dj, I'd throw this one on and have about 20 people coming up asking, "is this the Stones?" You don't hear it much, that's for sure.

  • this video is why i will always prefer the Stones to the Beatles ... the only one of them that would've thought up something like this song would've been Ringo, and the three other Liverpool twits would've shouted him down.

  • @tsartodd Ringo only thought up three-chord country songs; this is waaaay beyond him.

  • Jagger seems to be enjoying himself - he appears to be channeling Lou Reed, Michael Jackson and Iggy Pop at various points in the video. And Charlie Watts looks like Stephen Hawking!

  • Jagger seems to be enjoying himself - he apes both Lou Reed and Michael Jackson. And Charlie Watts looks like Stephen Hawking!

  • Great Dance Song!

  • This video is cool ,this song is cool ,the Stones are cool ,know what I mean.

  • My favorite movies of all time include "Flashdance," "Dirty Dancing," "Footloose," "Top Gun," and (let's never forget) "An Officer and a Gentleman." When Richard Gere carries Debra Winger off in the end and the whole factory erupts in applause, it brings tears to my eyes. So romantic. The wife and I plan to watch it tonight and tomorrow we will view "Red Dawn."

  • @mwelle1 jesus... it's not really the greatest artistic movies on earth... it's quite flashy and superficial... the good vs the bad with not a lot of subtility... the typical Don Simpson productions... this guy was quite mad... they should made of movie of this guy...

  • @BohemianConspiracy You did realize I was being facetious didn't you? ;)

  • @mwelle1 yes i was... thinkin' about it.... it was just too much to be honnest !? hehe... so i'm happy to discover that you're on the really right side of the mind... : p

  • @BohemianConspiracy Perhaps you mean the "Christian right" side of the mind?

  • @mwelle1 mmmhhh... i don't know... i' m not against a pagan renaissance... you are talking about ... red dawn....what is this ? is it another of those typical "republican" movies ?

  • @BohemianConspiracy "Red Dawn" is nothing that a "sweet neocon" would't love. I'm definitely not for a "pagan renaissance" though--although it would be nice if some of our Republican politicians would use less "faith-based" intelligence (which is often hypocrisy anyway--are these people really Christian?--they think torture is "justified"--Who would Jesus bomb?, etc.).

  • "An Officer and a Gentleman" takes chances, takes the time to know and develop its characters, and by the time this movie's wonderful last scene comes along, we know exactly what's happening, and why, and it makes us very happy.

  • When I get to the movies, you know I'd like to see something more romantic, you know. Like 'An Officer and a Gentleman' or something. Something you can take the wife to, you know what I mean?

  • 5:13 to 5:19 = best dance ever xDD

  • This song is a perfect example when a great melody gets no attention and garbage like "Satisfaction" and "Start me up" become huge hits. That is why this band is not known for trying very hard

  • open with Bela Bartok's 3rd String Quartet! wow man!

  • I like the end when the TV explosed

  • no this still a great song, regardless of genre. and this sounds nothing like thriller. what the heck are you smoking?

gg allin was a nasty as the shit that he loved to eat. he is truly better off dead. its an injustice that his name is even in the same paragraph as the stones. that guy is known cuz he was a deranged disgusting freak, not cuz he had an iota of talent.

  • ISSEI SAGAWA

  • dance with a one legged woman!.....the 12' version kicked ass in clubs

.....who cares about the video, its the stones!!!

  • great song but bad video

  • @MikeHermetic ...and what rocks?.GG Allen the man that eats his own sh!t ?.......smh

  • @444Bam Look I like the Stones but they, like every other band, have made a few missteps along their way. To me, this song is a prime example. It sounds like a rip off of "Thriller." As for GG Allin, the guy was a psychopath but he didn't follow trends, he did whatever he wanted to do, all of the time.

  • 0:50-0:51 totally genius

  • the remote control looks like a razor! ahahahahahahahah

  • WHEN YOU STCK SOMEBODY , YOU SMILE AT THEM .. ( IT FEELS BETTER )

  • I'd love to find out who's playing that chiming, lyrical, round and round guitar work. I can almost see the pic work in my head when it's playing. I'm glad I found this little gem. Fun as a roller coaster ride too.

  • If I'm not mistaken, I do believe this video was banned. I guess this was "too much blood" for the standards of 1984's promotion of Undercover.

  • @trewsdetroit5 yeah heaven forbid that the youth of America should be exposed to such violence!

  • Marvellous bassline.very funky.love it.

  • the lyrics to this sound like a friggin hardcore song. someone should do a cover.

  • @phullofit heh-heh-heh!

  • Did you know this song is actually about a cannibal named Issei Sagawa. He called a girl over to study literature and he shot her in the back of her neck, then he raped her and ate her at the same time... litterally o-o

  • man i havent seen this in years

  • trick ; Or no treat :

  • szer - elem;

    szer - telen

  • great song forever 80´ss

  • Where the fuck is roo much rudd?!

  • Notable for the only documented use of a gas powered power tool by a Stone.

  • "U ever see the texas chainsaw massacre? 'orrible wasn't it? LOL!

  • @Jagermeister196

"...don't cut off mee arm...don't cut off mee leg..." hhahha!

  • @Jagermeister196 don't saw off me leg, no don't saw off me arm.

  • Mick looks hot wearing eyeliner! ;)

  • @MissRockstarGroupie - God yes, the more "girlie" Mr. J got, the better he looked! in his day - he was a thing of beauty.

  • Gotta love it! Cheezy as hell for the Stones but what a wonderful song. Now who the hell can sit still listening to this?!!!!!

  • sat night vids...this one takes me back.

  • Was Jeffrey Dahmer inspired by this video? Sheesh!

  • rock.ragae.pop.disco .......is there anything they cant do

  • i am a lifelong stones nut(i'm 50),this is a crap song;the video was banned at one time in britain if i recall correctly, should have been the song

  • I would love to hear the STONES do this LIVE on their 2011/2012 Tour!!

  • Another gay Rolling Stones disco song only a WHOLE DECADE past the disco craze.

Talk about codgers who are so outdated.

  • @TruthAxe This album was released in 1983. A decade is 10 years. Applying your logic, the "disco craze" ended in 1973. Might want to go back and review your music history a little.

  • You amuse, @TheMn64.

Mere words have triggered you into action to defend your aged idols. Look at you go! You're a caped crusader!

  • @TruthAxe Not really my idols anymore, in fact this was the last album of their's I actually liked. Very underrated. I'm just saying that 10 years is a decade and this was released in 1983. As for being a "caped crusader", may be you shouldn't spend so much time in the comic book shop.

  • Most amusing @TheMn64.

Myabe you should crawl forth from your cave. Everyone who knows English knows the expression "caped crusader" without needing to have read a comic book, ever.

This recording sucks along with nearly all Stones recordings.

The best efforts: Beggars Banquet, Let It Bleed, Exile on Main St., Some Girls.

Sticky Fingers, It's Only Rock 'n' Roll and Black and Blue are moderately acceptable.

Easily, the Stones are the greatest overhyped rock and roll band.

  • @TruthAxe Everybody may know the term "caped crusader", but to work it into a conversation about what year an album was released is a little bizarre. Your dramatic use of words also points to someone who has spent many a fortnight at local Renaissance Festivals. I can tell by your reaction, the comic book reference hits a little close to home with you. May be you should craw forth from your parents basement.

  • Most amusingly nerdy @TheMn64.

    What's a Renaissance Festival?

  • @TruthAxe this was a horrible album.... but there not overhyped... there very good live. your not a expert who knows everything so just shut up.

  • You amuse, @crackernumber2.

The word you want is the contracted form of the verb to be in the second person subject -- YOU'RE.

Instead, you wrote the second person possessive pronoun -- YOUR.

Also, you wrote the noun meaning that place -- THERE -- when you should have written the determiner adjective connoting ownership -- THEIR.

If you cannot write properly, @crackernumber2, how can anyone take seriously your expressed, written thoughts?

    Oh how you amuse.

  • @TruthAxe Sorry truth i got as far as the last work first paragraph... you see this is youtube. I am not looking for a an editing job at the new york post. You need to check yourself my man. Sombody who acts as arrogent as yourself on a silly internet video site needs to get out more.

Your condescending little english lesson really shows off how insecure and unhappy you are. "oh how you amuse." who talks like that? truth, for the sake of us all get a life ok? thanks buddy.

  • You amuse, @crackernumber2. Again!

Those who cannot write properly cannot think properly. You suffer from a defective mind.

  • @TruthAxe Who cares if this is the name i choose for youtube.

Your really are a bizzare socal outcast are you not? You dont talk to people in real life like that i hope!!

"moderately acceptable" "oh, how you amuse" truth you need to hear the truth: good grammar on youtube does not make you a better person then me. truth go see sombody, you need to talk to someone my friend because your sick.

  • Most amusing @crackernumber2,

Look at you go! Mere words have triggered you into such a rage that you feel compelled not once, nor twice, but thrice to address me.

Here's a gift for you. Call 1-800-969-NMHA. The call is free. Someone is there to help you, but you must make the first move. Your family shall thank you. Your friends shall thank you too, if you have any.

Get the help you need oh so desperately!

    Oh how you amuse.

  • @TruthAxe you heard what i said... you are were you belong indoors and behind a computer... have fun being alone!!!!

  • The ever amusing @crackernumber2.

You wrote, "you are were you ...".

    Keep hitting that meth pipe.

  • @TruthAxe you know im right... your a sick person. I wonder how fat and ugly you really are in real life now thats funny.

  • The always amusing, @crackernumber2.

Look at you go! Your OCD obsession with all things me compels you to comment toward me, daily.

Oh how you amuse, meth head.

  • @TruthAxe i dont do drugs, who the hell do you think you are hope you get lung cancer or aids and die. im going outside you should as well truth

  • Most amusing @crackernumber2.

You're writing dumb comments on YT still? What's wrong with you? Get help.

  • @TruthAxe - and how many songs have YOU charted? people are STILL listening to the Stones - more then 40 YEARS after they were "current"! don't like it - don't watch or listen. ;)

  • You amuse, @gingerirene1201.

Your thinking fails. Saying I haven't charted thus X is like saying no one has created an atom, thus X. It fails. You fail.

Also, your meddlesome nature amuses most of all. Why do you care what people write in the comments section of YT vids?

By your failed thinking, it is as easy as saying, "If you don't like what read, don't read it."

Keep amusing though. Free entertainment is best. I'll keep pulling your strings and you'll keep dancing for me. HA HA

  • Underrated at the time, but great.

  • This is a great song...long time Stones fan

  • This deserves more academy awards than Titanic. It's 12 times the fun as Titanic too

  • another underated never played stones tune try these hey negrita, winter, crazy mama, cherry o baby, all of goats head soup album, memory motel there are so many more as well ,these will make any stones fan dance like JAGGER!

  • This song is a real testiment that after Mick Taylor left the band, their sound went from artistry to basic strumming, with two stoned guitarists and no originality. And THIS is BEFORE Wyman got sick of it and left too! WAKE UP people! If it sounds like shit, chances are, its gonna be shit.

  • @4rainbowed Well, Keith doesn't even play on this track, so it loses a bit of it's Stonesey grit. I think this would have fit more on Mick's solo lp. But Keith's in the video and he's out for blood so that's always nice.

  • @4rainbowed - true- the stones had better albums- but "too much blood" and "wanna hold" you were pretty good efforts from Undercover. Undercover was not one of their best efforts.

  • Wanna dance wanna sing

  • great little nugget from their massive cannon of songs

  • Yeah, Mick does look like he has a black eye! I'm not crazy about this video and I'm a big Stones fan.

  • Richards and Woods chainsaw maniacs

  • Cool video, I'm spreading my animation videos

  • 3:03 -the devil is on the door - pok, pok - rannnng rang ! - Keith is latherface , hahahaha cool fine classic stuff

  • the world had moved on - but fine Music-stuf can never die...

  • videos on MTV were getting stupid at this point,,,

  • Bullshit. This song holds up.

  • When I go to the movies I like to see something more romantic like:

  • @gwyntube Offiza an a gennelman. Somethin ya can take the wife to, yaknowwhutameen?

  • @matimaui NOT TRUE.VERY UNDERATED.THE MUSIC WAS CHANGING BUT THE STONES WERE STILL BEING THE STONES.UNLIKE THE REST THEY SURVIVED AND THEN SOME.

  • MY ASS

  • Coolest video EVER made and no one knows it??!!

  • A classic video! Keith running around with a chainsaw!!!

  • Oh man the "Glimmer Twins" have done some weird stuff!

  • @fortheloveoftunes - yes, they have, fortheloveoftunes , yes they certainly have. I would love to have been a witness to some of their shenanigans!

  • Just like "Miss You", Bill Wyman's bass makes this song.

  • The story Mick mentions about some japanese man eating a european girl in france is true... but Jagger didn't personally know him. He went home free, and is a monor japanese celebrity today :(

  • This song live is great!! I remember when I heard the first opening drum and guitar licks of this song,I was like"Here we go!"

  • @astonsfan WOuld love to see this song live! Could someone post it?

  • @astonsfan WHERE/WHEN DID THEY PLAY THIS ? THX

  • Terrible.

    Mistake.

  • not dissapointing, this is what happended to my sisers, ( three of them ) I embrace this song, it helps me to survive

  • Disappointing video, but the song is one of my very favorites by them.

  • mjs the rip off pal

  • the beginning kind of sounds like Thriller, Michael Jackson is such a rip-off. Thriller came out a year or so after this.

  • Actually Thriller came out in '82 (though the video came out in '84), and this album came out in '83, so the Stones are really the copycats, unfortunately.

  • @RollingOrmond- that's not true, stones did that sort of beginning long time ago in '2000 Light Years From Home', MJ was just 7 years old... fortunately ))

  • But that rhythm in 2000 light years is some slow bass strumming compared to this sped-up, Thriller sounding rhythm. Mick always listening to latest dance records; he probably took it without realizing.

  • Looky, it's not that similar. It's a dance-sound, a similar sort to others that were playing at the time.

  • But that weird chattering dance beat only sounds like Thriller. Way it goes.

  • @stonezuk

MJJ was 7, while MPJ was 24.

  • @RollingOrmond

1984, what a year for two titans to release songs that sound somewhat alike and to have the videos for those songs contain frightening imagery.

  • @ 3:09--hey, it's leather-face from texas chainsaw massacre!!!...my bad, it's only keith.

  • 0:48

    What the fuck?

    Isn't that from Basket Case?

  • "ever seen teh texas chainsaw masacre-horrible wasn't it?"LOL

  • this was one of the frist songs i herd by the rolling stones... and after see this video i thoght i should get in to them and they looked grovy... why i couldn't give you a glimmer

  • too bad they ditched Mick Taylor,Ron Wood can't play for shit-his paintings are a lot better than his guitar playing.

  • @outlawwolf621 they did not ditch M.T. he walked . big difference.

wood is shit next to M.T. though.

  • @goonchistaw - true - mickey t is far superior- but ronnie does have his moments

  • @gingerirene1201 for sure M.T. is premier league

wood is just a keef clone & adds absolutely nothing

just do that , just do this ,he's a very limited player

& i have always been dissapointed when he plays live

i stopped listening to them after M.T. walked

  • that is true...if you haven't listened to the faces...granted...i'm on taylor's side..he's better but you just can't say that...just watch some vids or albums by the faces & say ronnie can't play shit...what i believe is that they make shit albums with ronnie while their work with taylor was amazing...my opinion

  • @outlawwolf621 - they did not ditch Mick Taylor- he kinda ditched them. and Ronnie shines on "Some Girls"

  • Beautiful riff on chorus.

  • @RollingOrmond

    You're right!

  • @RollingOrmond And it was not played by either Keith or Ronnie - they asked their guitar technician, Jim Barber, to "play something modern, like Andy Summers or something"

  • love the back ground guutar
