Man You should definetly do some tutorial explaining wots going on here!! One can memorize the riffs and changes by heart but understanding them and being able to count them would be awesome!
What Kit are you playing? I want to get an electric set and I am hearing mixed things about Fame, but they seem ok here (in case this is a set by Fame)
nice work, man. i read some of the comments here and i don't get why people are hating so much. there's nothing "easy" about any of this. as people who enjoy and play this type of music, we should be encouraging each other. anyway, good job.
Solid playing! Who cares if you're not playing the most technical parts. You are most likely playing these grooves better than all the idiots bashing you could ever do.
you are one of the few people i've seen who really get the feel tomas plays over these riffs. great job. i've done meshuggah compilations too, learning any of their songs all the way through is a hell of a task
i wish my drummer could do this shit... we could finally have some decent covers... great work man, keep it up! My 8 string and I are rooting for you!
u should have done the drum part of I where hes doing 16 note double kicks, quarter note cymbals and dotted 8 note snares :D :D if its physically possible
I totally appreciate what's goin' on here, but what's so crazy is that these are all the easiest portions to play of all the songs provided-but fuck me if the Corridor of Chameleons bit isn't one of the most head-bobbin' fuckin' groove ever XD
nah im jkin im not one of those ignorant jokes, i know most of the shit is polymeters if its not an odd timesignature, but thats really good, especialy for 2 years, its tuff getting the poly meters dwn at first but once u got them they impress those who know about music, and this is very good
I still think you rock the fucking shit... wayyyy better tham i ever will hehe... but ok my main thing is also guitar so i can always use that excuse :)
play more hard ones and post a video of it if you think those are easy
I've got one drum vid where I play some meshuggah songs (including Personae Non Gratae which AIN'T easy) I make few mistakes now and then but now I can play better and even more songs from Meshuggah
@AK4769er No one FUCKING understand that all the other metal band do always the same thing... Meshuggah instead do syncopated rhytms, polymeters, polyrythm and not only 4/4. They are fucking great :D
If you look at the date this video was posted it's November 2008. obZen came out March 2008. Therefore Bleed wasn't even released at the time this video was posted.
Fucking kick-ass job, bro...I found your vid on Songza and had to schlep through inaccurate YouTube search results to find this to give you props. Awesome...
did u not read the description? these are his FAVORITE riffs (everyone's favorite riffs! mind u...). I used to drum when I was younger (no lessons), and I can do all these riffs, too, but still. they are complex if you are new to meshuggah. regardless, these are meant to sound good not be overly difficult to play.
hey, instead of buying a Double bass pedal, can you make the hi hat foot pedal thing a bass drum instead, and hav the hi hat just sound like a loose hi hat?
Yes, that works fine, but it's a bad way to learn double bass since the tension on each pedal will be different, you'll be investing time in terrible technique.
