Aged duck eggs are no more strange, or disgusting, than eating aged cheese. Just a matter of what you're accustomed to. They're actually quite good if properly prepared (and you're not a narrow minded putz like the guys in the video who think they're so funny).
dude, u guys r so funny. it is pretty nasty, i ate one a couple years ago and made a video of it too. yeah, you guys r a riot, def would have some laughs over there. im a chef too, hence why i ate one as well. i love food, but that thing sucks. ur video is playing while i write and im cracking up so hard!!!!! way to go guys!!
He probably ate it raw because he was directed too by someone. As was I by the guy at the asian grocery who sold me a pack. Honestly if it wasn't for a heavy taste of ammonia I would love the things texture was awesome. But the one I ate had a heavy after taste of urine.
I'm really embarrassed for these people. No one asked you to eat the egg and just because you don't like it, doesn't mean you have to make a huge spectacle of it. I'd love to see a bunch of Indians throwing up a Big Mac or Arabs vomiting pork chops. Show some respect and class, guys.
It's...an....egg. It tasted like vile, disgusting crap. Like I said elsewhere, maybe it was bad or something, it tasted nothing like 'a really salty egg' as below.
I'm trying to figure out how having an opinion on a (nasty) food makes me/us disrespectful, just because it's an international food. There's plenty of stuff made in America that tastes like ass as well, but no one seems to throw a fit about a vile response to those items. (Check the bacon gumballs vid for expample)
dont listen to those guys jk. that thing sucks and theres no way around it. its not a flippin pork chop, its a fermented egg. it isnt food, its crap. its probably made with lye, just like mine was. id rather swallow chewing tobacco than to eat that again and i like trying weird stuff. fyi, that crap chemically burnt my mouth. people say you need to eat it with something, whats the point, to hide the fact it tastes like crap? great vid guys. terribly funny and so sick. at least mine wasnt runny
@thingsjkeats Don't you think that it would have been better cooked? All raw yolks make me want to irk. Feel like irking just watching people dip their toast into them.
@ParadoxlnABox Your comment, in my opinion, is way more disrespectful than this. I mean what's so disrespecting in this video? They're trying an old duck egg. That's not something we usually think is delicious and prefer fresh food. Sure, it might be some weird tradition or somehow considered a delicasy but not sharing the opinion is NOT being disrespectful.
Would I think someone eating pork and vomitting is disrespectful towards me, who like em? Ofcourse not. :P Matter of taste, man.
exactly. I've been eating them for years now. But I can see how anyone who hasn't eaten them before can get repulsed by them. My friend loves to eat durian fruit. And I can't stand that. Yeesh.

they're actually only a few months old... they salt them, and bury them. that's it.
But most importantly, they're really good. it's just like a really salty egg...
