I AGREE! I have never liked y hair more than I do now in its natural state. I can't stop touching it! Even my hubby (who totally objected to the cutting it off idea) told me he likes it.

I just BC'd 8-22-10. I love my hair. I could not get the perm off my hair fast enough. The first cut took me a while but after that I was cutting very quickly and smiling at what I saw. My hair is curly. I just got thru telling my sister that it was the best thing I have ever done for myself. I really do feel good and don't plan to go back to perms either.

Oh girl, I almost cried watching this. I got the chop and it has been a different world. For me, it has forced me out of my comfort zone. I can no longer hide behind hair. I'm like "all the way out". Some have positive feedback...some say nothing at all. But thank you sooooooooooooooo much...this will keep me going.

thank you so much! i did my bc in feb 2010. and for the longest time i wore a wig. in my 6th month i've started wearing my fro. i needed those words of encouragement. i'll see these videos with natural sistas having hair all the way down their back. and i'll be so discouraged. but now i can embrace it and now i realize it doesn't look bad at all. 6 months 3 weeks and counting :)

I miss my TWA too! it was so easy to manage and I received so many compliments. When I did my big chop I realized how beautiful I am being the REAL me and it was a spiritual moment that fed my confidence as well

Black Onyx, very beautifully put! When I did my big chop at 3 to 4 inches (back in the early 90's), I never appreciated my TWA :( . I immediately put box braids in.
It's like I skipped learning to walk and went straight to running. LOL!

I miss my twa also I have been natural for 17 months now and my natural is crazy its soft,,,and hard to manage..all I ever wear is two strand twist...there is not a day that goes by that I want to cut it and keep it short...

When I had my hair really short I always wore flowers and I got a lot of compliments. And a lot of men of all races came up to me with my short hair. Girl, you said it all from hiding behind my hair to LOVING the feeling of short hair to feeling beautiful - REGAL even to absolutely liberating your self from the "hair for validation" trap! Natural hair is powerful! I was afraid to do it but it is the best decision I've ever made. I feel like I can do anything now. My hair grows like crazy too! When I did the BC in Oct '06..I only saw one other sister with a TWA when i went to the barber shop for my trim/edge up...After six mths I wore a wig then i started two strand twistng..I did not discover youtube natural divas until late '08...I had almost given up and when I went to a salon that specializes in short relaxed cuts..the stylist (God bless her) refused to relax me because my natural hair blew her away! I love my natural hair it's 13 inches now and so healthy!

It's funny because on the one hand, I am excited about how quickly it is growing... but on the other I am kind of sad because I love it like this. It's like watching my son grow up... Oh girl, I almost cried watching this. I got the chop and it has been a different world. For me, it has forced me out of my comfort zone. I can no longer hide behind hair. I'm like "all the way out". Some have positive feedback...some say nothing at all. But thank you sooooooooooooooo much...this will keep me going.

thank you so much! i did my bc in feb 2010. and for the longest time i wore a wig. in my 6th month i've started wearing my fro. i needed those words of encouragement. i'll see these videos with natural sistas having hair all the way down their back. and i'll be so discouraged. but now i can embrace it and now i realize it doesn't look bad at all. 6 months 3 weeks and counting :)

Black Onyx, very beautifully put! When I did my big chop at 3 to 4 inches (back in the early 90's), I never appreciated my TWA :( . I immediately put box braids in.
It's like I skipped learning to walk and went straight to running. LOL!

I miss my twa also I have been natural for 17 months now and my natural is crazy its soft,,,and hard to manage..all I ever wear is two strand twist...there is not a day that goes by that I want to cut it and keep it short...

You are so right. I truly miss my short hair now. LethalPleazure cut her hair short again and I am so jealous. And you are absolutely right about the flower. When I had my hair really short I always wore flowers and I got a lot of compliments. And a lot of men of all races came up to me with my short hair. We have to learn to love ourselves no matter what.

Girl, you said it all from hiding behind my hair to LOVING the feeling of short hair to feeling beautiful - REGAL even to absolutely liberating your self from the "hair for validation" trap! Natural hair is powerful! I was afraid to do it but it is the best decision I've ever made. I feel like I can do anything now. My hair grows like crazy too! But now its like it has awakened from a 22 year comma! Blessings keep it up!

THX for the video. When I did the BC in Oct '06..I only saw one other sister with a TWA when i went to the barber shop for my trim/edge up...After six mths I wore a wig then i started two strand twistng..I did not discover youtube natural divas until late '08...I had almost given up and when I went to a salon that specializes in short relaxed cuts..the stylist (God bless her) refused to relax me because my natural hair blew her away! I love my natural hair it's 13 inches now and so healthy!

I have REALLY been contemplating cutting my 8 inches of natural hair off again because I have MAJOR heat damage(SB: I will NEVER straighten my hair again) and you have given me what I needed to go ahead and do it with confidence. It's funny because on the one hand, I am excited about how quickly it is growing... but on the other I am kind of sad because I love it like this. It's like watching my son grow up...
