Once a horse is taken out of his environment it becomes unnatural. Any discipline tells the horse what to do it's call micro management, thats why we use bits and other so called tools to tell, not ask, the horse to do something.
Anybody that has truely been around horses would know that if a horse was in pain or afraid they would bolt and run away. If there were really pins in the wrappings the horse would never settle down and stand still for the owner.
Ontimetravel1 - What Culture? Pakistan is a made up of criminal minded people. It is a Cesspit of evil, following that disraceful ISLAM so called belief. Pakistan has no culture, its action of suppression, hatered, unlawfulness, unconformity etc etc are what prevades that nation of numskulls.
I have to laugh at people who think they know whether (from a fuzzy video) a horse is feeling pain or not. Veterinarians have a tough enough job of it, how the hell are you goign to know from a video?
This one looks better than a couple of the others that look abusive to me -- and I'd love to buy one of those horses.
Kara - dressage is NOT dancing, dressage is training the horse according to his NATURAL movements. Horses in dressage are not asked to make unnatural movements like this. He doesn't "choose" to do his job, he's a herd animal that has been trained by humans far stronger than he is. Whips, spurs, chains, pain - you name it, humans use it. There is no way that a horse can resist what a human wants it to do. I have three of them - all ex-racehorses.
There is nothing natural about rolkur and having tried dressage myself and given it up becouse I didn't enjoy torturing my horse, I have to say this little horse is a great performer. When you get to see a stallion killing a dog then you'll realise how natural his movements are.
Honestly people. If this horse was considering this to be cruel he would strike out, aspecially with the man being so close. He obviously has great trust in his owner or he wouldn't be allowing it. Horses are smarter than you are putting them out to be.
Very pretty horse and looks well cared for. Good video. :)
This horse is clearly NOT abused. It is respectful and looks very concentrated--not fear. Stop condemning people because they have a different culture!
good thank you and how r u? yes shah sahab i know u r from village near saraiealamgir same as my village very close to sariealamgir we grew there whats the name of your village?

We have 3 people to look after them at all times! Most of the time they standing around doing nothing apart from eating and relaxing, and in the summer they dont participate in the dances coz it is too warm!!

WHAT I SEE: A horse trained to perform for a living (like all horses in captivity are to do) This one (or these ones) here is merely showing what dressage on long reins is in foreign countries. A mere dressage movement one beside, instead of behind. Sad I had to copy this into another video
MEAN TO THE HORSE: You see the horse given a break after only 10-20 seconds of performing. Much more kindness than we show sporting horses. You also see the horse handler giving the horse a quick rub on its face (rewarding it). The horse itself barely shows ribs, so it it fed well. The horses breed may also have small heel, long toe. After all Akhal-Teke are meant to have U-Neck, which is a conformation fault in western horses but a desired trait in that breed.
LOUD MUSIC SCARING THE HORSE: This is the lamest excuse. To train police horses they open umbrellas in their faces, scream and make a racket to quieten them down. These horses are perfectly use to it.
HORSE UPSET: Look at the position of the horses ears, if they really did not like what they were doing and were scared, their ears would either be flat to the head (anger) or semi flat (fear). You see them to the side (listening to commands)
BURNT SOLES: Look and watch the horse plant all four hooves, peacefully and contently on the ground without any disturbance or irritation or pain.
BOY WHIPPING: If you call a light slap on the legs or rear end abuse, wake up and look closer to home at your Racing stables (who I have seen in person) litrally whipping the horse around the head with the leather lead because it spooked at something.)
Cruel? A horses job is cruel? Have you ever watchd Dressage or Lippizanar dancing? This is that exact thing with different Que's. The horse isn't freakin upset by the nois, if he was he would refuse to preform and would try to run or lash out at them. He knows he's stronger than his owners but instead of being afraid he chooses to do his job and enjoy it. Free? im sure this guy could let this horse loose and it would fallow him if he asked it too, didn't you notice all the praise it was getting?
he has boots on which give him a pins and needles effect. the horse is basically agitated and trying to stop the pain. yes it could be worse - he could be starving to death. but it doesnt excuse this behaviour
Idiot... Sure there are cruelties like PINS which are sometimes used to make a horse high step. Thouse boots arn't doing that. If you think about it those boots can be compared to a western bell boot, decorated for the occasion. LEARN BEFORE YOU BLAB SHIT.
thanks its cool video do you know where this mehla took place in shakrila or some where else

Thankyou for posting all this, agree wih everything you say. And such a beautiful sport being put down by people who don't know anything..

i reckon this is cruel to all the horses in the world who have to do this.
horses arent made to be eaten or made to od tricks etc
they are made to be ridden so people shouldnt take this for granted nd try and make them do tricks like in this video
the horse is scared because of all the loud noises around him. he just wants to be free and i think the owners of this horse should do exactly that
