  • I want a Warwick Bass Now !

  • 3:04 = EPIC RIDICULOUSNESS i think i shit myself from that, haha

  • @chowderhead5000 Agreed, I think I lost a nut.

  • I'm not trying to be offensive or anything but... Doesn't this sound a bit like the solo from Sadistic Abductive by Brain Drill?

  • Amazing!

  • Sweet!

  • Know what I love more than hearing great musicians?

The same thing I love more than not hearing crappy ones -- nothing.

This is so good "good" has to be reeling!

  • cool

  • wow!!! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOWW!!!!!!

  • Yes, amazing bass player indeed... but what about Steve Smith? Is he really here? Didn't he deserved a single camera shot at least?

  • Steve Smith 's drum track was pre recorded,he is not playing live with me

  • Bradleyyyyy!!!!

  • Wow this guy is an amazing bass player. What a great song!!!!

  • now that's talent :)

  • Sorprendente, excelente version (Y)

    *****

  • mas terrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • im confused... so he was playing over his pre-recorded solo, so it wasnt actually live, just playing along for video to the pre-recorded recording?

  • Yes he was and I filmed it and that is what makes it even more impressive. It took Brad only a few takes but he nailed it again like he did on the original recording with steve Smith.

  • WOW! easily won of the best videos i have seen on youtube EVER!!!!!

  • I like the original rhythm of the melody

  • It sounds a lot better than a Hammond that's for sure.

  • Beautifully played! Thanks for sharing. :)

  • That... that is the most bad ass thing I've ever seen on an electric instrument... Ever!

  • WOW! I am left speechless... thanks jp

  • 2.36 - 3.08 Rush-YYZ!! o.O

  • O_o Awesome....

  • my god

  • fila da puta

    pau no cu

    e baitola

  • NICE!!! awesome

  • haha, i remeber i just learned classical thump by victor wooten and felt so proud and thought i was real good. now i saw this video, and realised that classical thump is pretty much a childs song.

  • Bueno pelaoooo!

  • este es un locoooooooo tocando se fumo un palo de escoba

  • this is so good it makes u forget its just bass n drums

  • Magic & fantasy of bass guitar !

  • The perfect piece of music.

  • perfect!

  • ...i didn´t see Steve Smith on drums...is tht really him?

  • What makes this bass solo more incredable is that Brad is playing over his prerecorded solo that i was pumping in the sound system of the studio as I filmed. It only took him a few takes but he nailed it as you can see. The drum kit is actually my Gretsch kit. We were not trying to fool anyone but at the time there was no way to schedule Brad and Steve again so we just did it this way.

  • 2:02-2:23 soo sick

  • -wtf!!!!he's GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This music rocks!!

  • amazing

  • good job at getting a nice tapping tone, while retaining a good bass feel with your left hand.

  • that sounds a lot like joe satriani's song

    midnight

  • that big bass sweep at the end of the solo (3:06) made me cum. hot damn.

  • excelente

    de lo mejor

    fabuloso

  • @minderoded No, you are not crazy. I remember it too.

  • I remember a very similar melody on I believe Sonic The Hedgegog 2(Sega Genesis)...the level with the arrows..am i going crazy here..

  • Aquatic Ruin Zone are the three words you are searching for.

You're not the first one who seems to say that. I don't see the similarity, though - even if ARZ has ALWAYS been my favorite level of Sonic by far.

  • Gah! I said the same thing! He must have been playing the Sega Genesis before he recorded this. "Aww...Crap. Gotta do a bass solo?" *Thinks.* "I got it! I'll play some of Sonic The Hedgehog!"

  • i experienced heaven and hell when i watched this vid

  • what the!..love this melody!..Bravo!...

  • Satriani of the bass world

  • i just threw my bass out... i give up after seeing that hahaha

  • impresionante

  • if u noticed it said prerecorded with steve smith...that drum track is just a loop basically off a MIDI

  • Hot like FIYA!!! That was banging. That song aint easy to play just one instrument.

  • Shredmaster Bass-God status acheived!!! Brillant. This is what "taking it to the NEXT LEVEL" means.....

  • I love the main melody, awesome stuff.

Brilliant touchstyle and some killer slapping there also.

  • Awsome

    holy shit ur good

how long did it take u to play like that

  • es genial...!excelente la armonia y la tecnica

    un bocho la verdad

  • Increible!!!! Buenisimo, que cordinacion, buena tecnica, y el warwick suena filete!!!!

    Genial...

  • God I could listen to this all day every day.

  • This is Real drum & bass!

Brad is currently playing for the Broadway show Grease.

  • that was fantastically awesome. I need to go lock myself in a room for 3 years and practice. ;-)

  • Do you know what tuning this is played in?

  • he makes it look so easy

  • masters!!!

  • After looking a little closer I see... there is no drummer on the kit... but, you use Steve Smith's name in the video?

  • The music was *pre-recorded,* as stated in the beginning of the clip, with Steve Smith on drums.

  • I'm loving this. Holy crap. Yeah, the vic wooten/steve smith thing was cool, but this is so much more melodic, better composed and just a better piece of music. Been following steve for more than 20 years so nothing he does suprises me, simply one of the best ever. don't know much about russell but I'm sure gonna find out now.

  • That's because this piece of music was composed by Chick Corea.

  • genial!

  • breathtaking!!

  • great !

  • Is this the dude from "LAAZ ROCKET"...anyway, smokin!

  • I hate you so much

  • Excellent work Brad. We'd love it if you came & joined our Warwick bass forum at warwick dot de slash forum. All bass players are more than welcome & everyone else for that matter.

  • Outrageous! Blew me away!

  • God DAMN that was good!

  • where is this beauty of a bass solo from? is this from a dvd or live recording or what? please tell me people!

  • I think this is the same Brad Russell that played on Deen Castronovo's dvd back in 1991. He had some nice playing on Deens dvd. Great bass player and of course the Great playing Steve Smith.

  • That was an awesome bass solo! Super slick!

  • Very Cool, it's a very good performance, the best here on youtube. The "original" version with Chick Corea playing keys with all the other instruments is amazing but this one is really good too. Brad is a great bassist.

  • Oh yeah you said it all right!

(This version of the video has better quailty too)

  • Amazing!
