  • I saw her too! I waited my whole life to see her and now I can die. :)

  • Always think of someone special when I play this song . Wonderful song wonderful performance truly wonderful singer

  • brings back some wonderful memories when many of us were younger, happy times.

  • This was better than when she did it on her album.

  • so lovely she was here.

  • WHY is there no "LOVE" button, or "GIVE ME YOUR TALENT" button on Youtube??

  • oh my. This is one lovely woman with a voice like no other. I just love her.

  • Her voice is like, wow, not only it was powerful but how it sounds, the way she sang, her technic, she was magical.

  • She was,is, and will always be an immortal singer .,an angelic Godsend voice for us mortals to listen and enjoy.,thank u Barbara!!

  • what is wrong with people her nose was never an issue i dont get why they wanted her to get a nose job...she wouldnt be so beautiful without that lovely nose... i get so confused and her voice is so lovely too. oh barbara!

  • When singers sang real songs...

  • I loved her all through my adolescence and love her still. Her voice is incredible. Not anyone I can think of sings like she did.

  • DIVA!

  • FINE

  • She still takes my breath away...

  • AMAZING! the clarity of the video, the crystal clear voice of miss barbie

  • She´s..just amazing.

  • Aweson!

  • 8 people are deaf!!!!

  • Love this song...have since I was a child. I'm now 50. Love you Babs....

  • The female Sinatra. Goddess of song. When she's gone, there will be no one left.

  • @goodoldazed - oh please. Sinatra could never come close to matching this even on his best day.

  • and suddenly, nothing, nothing , nothing is the same,

  • Awesome Barbra! Thanks for posting,

  • Control MYSELF... and try to ACT.. as if I remember MYYYYY name....

  • I love it, she is awesome!!!

  • 1968 was an incredibly horrific year. Martin Luther King Jr. assassinated. Riots all over the country as a result. Senator Bobby Kennedy assassinated. The US ship USS Pueblo overtaken by North Korea. The Soviet Union invades Czechoslovakia. The Tet offensive in Vietnam that set the war back. Riots in France. Student riots and a massacre in Mexico City. The Democratic

National Convention in Chicago overrun with protests and police rioting.

BUT remember, some guy did Barbara then! Amen to that.

  • @yowzephyr Well, this song is about the early stages of love rather than sex.

Also, I don't think singing or enjoying this song means that you are ignoring the serious events of 1968 (if that is what you are implying). Barbra certainly did not ignore those events. If you enjoy a song from the early 1940s, it does not mean that you are ignoring World War II and the Holocaust.

  • @ChicagoSouthDan No, no, I was not at all implying that Barbra was ignoring those events. I'm sure she didn't ignore them. All I was trying to say is that Barbara was at least one of the good things that was happening in 1968.

  • @yowzephyr Sorry I misinterpreted what you said :-).

  • ChicagoDan- I actually didn't tell my family about my hitchhiking adventure until many years later. That and a few other confessions kinda shocked them but I guess they were happy that I made it through my teen years without a single felony. :)

  • @wiguy3 Since I am 59, turning 60 this year, so I am a couple of years younger than you. I was thinking of going from Chicago to Simon and Garfunkel's concert in Central Park, but I opted not to. I am sorry I did not go. It might have been an experience and I would not have had to hitchhike :-).

  • 1967.....I was just 17, living in the midwest and I heard Barbra was going to do a free concert in Central Park. I didn't ahve the fare to get to New York si I hitchhiked. I made it in 3 rides. Yes, I was lucky. Made it to the park and was about 6 blocks away but I remember every note. It was the best night of my life at that point.

  • @wiguy3 Great story. Did your parents or parent have a fit when you got home?

  • @wiguy3

i would have also done the same to hear her live!

  • @wiguy3 What an amazing story. You hitchhiked from the midwest? You should Barbra a letter with that story.

  • @wiguy3 That sounds like an amazing experience!

  • @wiguy3 what an adventure. i would love to hear more about it.

  • @wiguy3

I saw her a few years ago. I have loved her since I was very young. She's the best talent of our time. No doubt and she's beautiful inside and out!

  • Dare you to not have a smile on your face by the end!

  • No matter what she sings, she never fails to hit the mark. The hairs on the back of my neck always rise and, I'm transported to a wonderful place. No one comes near!

  • I love Heather Headley's version, but no one hits the correct interpretation as well as Babs. She gets the pure innocence of this lyric and completely NAILS it.

  • I can't believe we get to see these amazing videos! For FREE! OK. Please nobody ruin it (I hope I didn't). She's the inspiration to all the best female singers today, no doubt. The glamor of this event points out a time when going out some place special for a great event meant dressing up, actually wearing clothes that at least mostly clothed you, and it meant living dreams, beautiful ones, nothing dark about them, just hope-filled memories.

  • LOVE FROM ISRAEL

  • I love this song and love Barbra to!!! Massimo

  • So gorgeous...yeah I said it. Voice, face, personality. All of it. She's is absolutely amazing. And no, I'm not gay.

  • i love her expressions, you can tell the lyrics really did come from somewhere real.

  • OMG - just too perfect for words. So love Barbra Streisand - she is magnificent. Heavens, what a voice to be in possession of - wouldn't that be grand? All so perfect. Thank you so very much for this post.

  • the greatest voice

  • She's so pretty. :)

  • She lives the song...

  • No living female singer comes close to Barbra Streisand, "America's First Lady of Song," a title that was used for the great Ella Fitzgerald. I bestow this title now on Barbra Streisand! She deserves it now, much as Ella did while she was alive! I find Streisand an amazing performer- here at age 26, and even now, at age 68! She is an enduring National Treasure! I am awed by her singing/passion and overall abilities-still after decades of being a fan! Keep singing Barbra!

  • Barbra in 1968 was at the height of her incredible vocal abilities! I love Barbra at age 26, right here (she was born in 1942- same year I was born) and I love her singing now that she is 68 years young! Barbra is a National Treasure! Her performances are- well - breathtaking! Amazing even to me, and I have been an avid fan of hers for decades!

She is now "America's First Lady of Song," a title that was given to Ella Fitzgerald.

I bestow it upon Barbra Streisand, a living legend! No female sing

  • simply the best and shut up

  • uhuhuhuhuhu BARBRA STREISAND

  • this performance cannot be faulted. It is one of the greatest ever captured on film and we should consider ourselves damn lucky that the internet exists and that in all of time and humanity we ourselves are privileged to experience it!

  • @barochial Thank you for that statement. The woman is just a miracle.

  • so surprising, I'm gay and love Barbara Streisand! So Proud to admit it!

  • no one like it!

  • 6 people are so jalouse ahah dont be she is the best ever so just enjoy it!!

  • Love me some Barbra! The best ever!

  • Let her sing

  • SIMPLY MARVELOUS!

  • GOOSEBUMPS!!

  • the fisrt words..."he touched me..." she went straight into character after interacting with the audience....wat the heck....soo godly talented...=)

  • Amazing! Not only did Barbra have an outstanding voice then (and now) but she did what no musical artists do much nowadays...she acted as she sang. You can't help but be caught up into the song because of all the feelings that she portrays at the same time.

  • Hey Modonna, beyonce etc, This is the Real thing. None of you can get even close.

  • Todays young women have nasty Rianna to look up to. Sad.The end of all things must be near.

  • wow. She just rocks.

  • bella e brava <3

  • how can maginificence be so effortless????

  • Wow! She used to be pretty?! Wow.

  • This is bealtyfull!!!

  • @thighco- there is no one can come near Barbra except for Celine

  • Es una de las mejores voces que jamaz se a escuchado es una latima que la musica de hoy en dia sea lo que es,,,,,,, una corrupcion total sin sentimiento alguno ni sentido........cantantes muchos artistas barbra,,,,,,,,,

  • HE knew IT!

  • She is so beautiful.

  • I think maybe after all these years, this is one of my very all time, favorite songs... I first saw her on Broadway, then through all those fabulous specials... "my name is Barbra and 'color me were just spectacular television, and she told everyone way back then that she knew exactly who she was and what she was doing and it was all very stylish and complicated... but at the end of the day, it's the simple, winsome magic she so gently makes of this that says everything....

  • unbelievable,,,,,,,,,,,, she's the number one American Idol of all time in my humble opinion......thank you Barbra for all the years of incredible enjoyment in hearing your voice. Much love to you.

  • Priceless performance.

  • tell you what, start saving your money so that if she ever decides to give another concert you can be there because you're beyond right... I was and am one lucky thing to have shared in the kind of magical spell that woman casts whenever she opens up her mouth.

  • Glenn Gould's favorite song.

  • I was lucky enough to have been there the night she made Manhattan Magic. There is only one Voice and the word is spelled; B-a-r-b-r-a!

  • @lesliekorshak YOU LUCKY THING, ONE OF MY WISHES WOULD BE TO SEE THIS WONDERFUL LADY IN CONCERT. MAYBE ONE DAY.

  • When other singers do this song, they just sing the notes. Barbra makes it three dimensional and brings it alive.

  • creeper song

  • @TheJuiceGroup Do you mean "creepy song"? Unless you're making a joke, I would disagree. It just means touching, not touching in a perverted way.

  • Top Selling Artists list, and the only female recording artist in the top ten.

  • What are these crazy posts about jewishness about? Can't you just enjoy the

    beautiful song? Such disrespect....

  • I was a kid in bklyn NY when I heard her sing for the first time, and I was Blown out of the water! NY radio stations said Streisand IS Broadway She was then and Still is . Though she is older now She's still got it.

  • This is Barbra Streisand at her best. She grabs you then pulls you into the song as you hang on through the turns until the thrilling end. She was ahead of her time and timeless.

  • This is so unbelievably classy, clever and heavenly !

  • Where are the voices today? The voice with smarts and color and soul? She had it all, and if you weren't around in those days, you missed out BIG time....

  • remarkable

  • shes very jewish looking

  • @SuperBnichols Is that good or bad?

  • @SuperBnichols ... Ummmm.... That's because she is um... Jewish

  • @SuperBnichols jewish looking? a religion has a look?

  • @Sixtiesfreak Jewish is a religion and a race of people.

  • @SuperBnichols you're kidding? Judaism is only a religion. Look it up. How do you explain Whoopi being jewish? She converted. And as far as "looking jewish", Judaism started in the Mediterranean area over 4,000 years ago and people in the Mediterranean area have a certain look no matter what religion. That's like saying Christianity is a race.

  • @Sixtiesfreak There is a jewish gene. There is a tribe in africa that has the jewish gene, look it up on the internet. That makes it a race, there are certain diseases that only jews get like bergers disease. Religions dont have genes. Im not putting them down.

  • @SuperBnichols When someone says that someone is "very Jewish looking", as you did earlier, it is usually meant as an insult, which is why you got a negative reaction. Hedy Lamar's real name was Heidi Kestler, she was Jewish, and she was one of the most beautiful ladies to ever appear in movies. However, people seldom say "She's very Jewish looking, just like the beautiful Hedy Lamar." It is good that did not mean to insult anyone and you were not putting anyone down.

  • @SuperBnichols whoopi goldberg is jewish. does she look like barbra streisand?

  • Thank you for posting this incrediably stunning video..... Barbra is superb as usual.

  • This is my all-time favorite romantic song. The ending is fabulous! And she is just divine, as always.

  • Barbara is like all the fine things in life wrapped in one magical human being. I feel transported when I watch and listen to her.

  • @illinoisjoy same here.

  • @illinoisjoy I could not have said it better!

  • @illinoisjoy im really sorry, i don't mean to be a drag. Its Barbra. Im honestly her biggest fan, it really annoys me when someone writes her name wrong.

  • This is my favorite of everything she's ever done.

  • GREAT Voice, THE voice of last century...

But oy vey...please...shut your trap about the politics........for a change we could believe in.....

  • Awesome ending!!!!!

  • I think Siobhan Magnus should redo this song! She is the next BABS!

  • I was five years old, but I still think this song is timeless!!

  • i love BS. Thanks!!!

  • bit . ly/jerku

  • Stunning in every way....

  • Abounding! The singer in complete command of all her remarkable powers. The timbre, the range, the dynamics--but most of all, the instinctive ability to enact the song. Always watch this in awe.

  • She's way too beautiful. And her theatricality is perfect.

  • This song, when she sings it, melts my heart. I cannot listen to it and drive a car.

I absolutely love this woman-her voice is in a class by itself and I am so glad I am alive during her life time.

  • Love you Barbra... my all time idol!

  • The last of her kind.....a true Super Star

  • The Best Ever in the world. Love you Barbra!!

  • I was there ... It was WONDERFUL!!!

  • oh my barbra that was magnifacent

  • Originally sung by Elliot Gould, seated on the edge of the stage in "Drat! The Cat!" -Guess they couldn't keep it in the familyQ

  • She is soooooooo beautiful!

  • i want to sing live and be amazing like this

  • She can sing while acting and acting while singing! that's awesome!

  • one of a kind for ever

  • @2:29... perfect note. :-)

  • O.M.G.

  • What a wonderful singer and performer. Only the great Mina is better.

  • Who the fuck is Mina ????

  • @cafemartini What a mouth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @cafemartini Bucket Mouth

  • @singergal3 Sorry, who the f**k is Mina ????

  • @cafemartini Too bad orvgg decided not to answer you, since it was a fair question, although expressed in an offensive way to some folks, with the use of the F word. It's a fair question because I had never heard of her and I would guess most people in the United States have not heard of her. She is an Italian singer, born in 1940, who was popular in the 60s and 70s in Europe and South America. I don't think she sold much in the United States. I found her with a search on "Mina singer".

  • @ChicagoSouthDan To continue, I listened to a couple of her songs, one when she was 27 in 1967 and one in 72, when she was 32. She has an okay voice, but nothing to compare to Steisand in range or vocal quality. I guess if orvgg or someone wants to refer me to a song that does equal Steisand's range or vocal quality, they can let me know. I am not a streisand fanatic; I just don't think Mina is even close.

  • thank you Violino11 for uploading this...she is absolutely the best...she sings with such conviction...goosh I wasn't even born when performed this...but I love her brilliant voice...

  • violino11, Thanks for the video and the BEST rendition of this song that I've ever heard.

  • that woman is just fantastic. Bellissima, sempre, bellissima!

  • Richard, this is for you.

  • she's completely unique! what a voice!

  • Barbra's about 25 yrs old in this performance. Where is there a voice like this today? What young woman of 25 in today's Pop Music could possibly match the range and class of Barbra's voice?

  • @Thighco not only in range but n dynamics reflections and reaching the depth of ones deepest chamber of ones Heart!!!!! Now they are just manufacturing Designer Brand Singers with Performance Art .. No Star Power Like Streisand or Shirley Bassey!!! xoxoxoxo EVER!

  • Barbara is one of the greats and I truly appreciate all her performances even though this was not my generation but rather my mothers. However there are many today that can match the range and class. Music style has changed though and therefore many who lived through listening to this generation can't see that.

  • @eagle0924 Try again!

  • @eagle0924 On the positive side, you are not one of those younger people who says that Barbra stinks, etc. The problem for me is in your use of the word "many". I do not worship her or any singer and I know that styles change, but I do not agree that there are "many" today who can match her range and class.

  • @ChicagoSouthDan wow... sry that was typo i meant to say their aren't*

  • @Thighco

    No one...

  • Classic unique beauty back then.

She really had the look in the 60's.

She looks good today but more conventional.

  • damn she's hot

  • THANK YOU! I can't stand when people say she's ugly. She's an effin' goddess.

  • @MaLizGa Yea i hate that too. Most likely jealous. I have loved her since I was a kid,my mother and grandmother are fans as well

  • Her make up is impeccable.

    She's beautiful.

But that doesn't even compare to her talent.

    The woman has it all.

Acting, Singing, Directing WHILE looking damn good.

Babs can do anything & everything.

  • This is a great live performance, but it you REALLY want to hear Barbra belt this one, listen to the studio recording on her first Greatest Hits album.

  • Barbra's great.

But for an equally powerful version,

    click my video response, above.

    Or just click my name,

  • She sings this song better than anyone else - in fact, few vocalists even attempted it after Barbra did it - what would be the point?

  • Incredible voice,incredible beauty,incredible Streisand.

  • too theatrical... she should've sung it more straight forward as opposed to all those little hums and "pops" and coos

  • WOW!!!!!!!

  • An incredibly romantic song from one of the greatest stars ever.

  • she was 27, singing to 100,000 people in manhattan.

    incredible.

  • No, no. She just turned 25 some weeks before this was recorded. This is from June 1967, she was born in 1942.

    Amazing concert.

  • She looks so beautiful in this video :) I love her voice too!

  • She is the " Callas" of jazz, isn't she.

  • Callas had a
