I had trouble playing the Gibson SG because of it just being too small/light and I'm a Big Man. I usually stand when playing, do you think this one will give me trouble also? Are these about twice the thickness as the new RG920 line?
@NstuffMusic BIG difference in price too :-) Maybe Ibanez puts more quality in it's stuff than other name brands like " G " where you pay a lot for than headstock name. From what I'm gathering the S Prestige line is like others "Custom Shop" lines? Thank's for the reply.
What do you think is better quality sound? I play metal and i want a new guitar but im stuck debating on wether getting the Ibanez grga42tqa or the ibanez s570dxqm
Just a point to clarify, the "quilted top" is just a very thin veneer and not a maple cap, technically. I'm NOT saying that to be negative at all, just to help people's expectations as to what they are getting. This is a great guitar for the money - period! Peace. -dave
The INF pickups are said to be very versatile and well-sounding, but are they the same INF featured on other Ibanez guitars (like RG370DX) or are they a little better? If I wanted to change those stock pickups yet maintain a versatile sound, which combination would you suggest me?
@turbocamps The INF 1 and INF 2 pickups are what comes on the S570DXQM are really nice and very versatile. The RG370DX has the INF 3 and INF 4 pickups. If you wanted to change them you might go with either some Seymour Duncan or Dimarzio pickups which ones would depend on what style you want to play.
@NstuffMusic I'm eclectic: I play many diverse styles ranging from classic hard rock, progressive, jazz fusion, blues, heavy metal and even heavier metal. Any ideas?
@JZ8KJ With locking tremolos, you would use the tuner keys to get the guitar "in tune", and then you would crank down on the locking nut. there are fine tuner knobs on the bridge to get it fully in tune. This way when you are using the tremolo arm, it wont go out of tune because the strings/tuning is locked in place.
@plazma619 The bottom line is you can use almost any type of guitar for any music style, it is all about the individual and how they can translate their style through that instrument. Our Mark Lucas is a true example of that.
@yeahmanslash Well they certainly are not pearl or abalone, I would have to guess an epoxy or some sort of plastic. Ibanez does not address this in there literature.
Thicker sounding....Don't gt me wrong it is a great rock guitar but it does not have the "thickness" of a Les Paul..but then again neither does a strat.
i bought the black one and i dont regret it, ibanez all the way, but its hard learning songs played on a 22 fret neck and when you are playing on a 24 fret neck, then its hard to learn, for me it is
@skylineXpert i know what you're saying, 24 frets makes the refference points odd. but ull get used to it. and then ull start to love the 24 fret shit. u get a whole other octave, so many musical possibilities with just those extra 2 frets \m/

@rjdsr1219 i'd pick the Ibanez. it's personal preference. if you like gibson-style really thick necks and fatass frets, along with a 30-year-old Floyd Rose designed tremolo and active EMGs (which i absolutely love, but i can live without), and quite a hefty body then go with Schecter.
if you like a really thin neck, with still large frets, a really thin body, passive pickups, and a top-of-the-line tremolo design, then go with Ibanez.
@TheMetalHeaD256 , i see some videos of schecter, i like so much the emg active; have a great sound, but the floyd license by schecter is good?? i thing zr is better, the only way is go to the guitar shop and pick the guitar ajaja
@rjdsr1219 yeah, the EMGs do have an awesome sound for sure. especially through a tube amp. and yeah, the Floyd Rose Special that's on the Schecters is good, and it does work just fine... however the ZR is just better in a lot of ways.
but yeah, man. go out and try to play both. Schecters are prominent in Guitar Center stores, but Ibanez, i've found, the stores are hit or miss. some have next to none, but others have nothing but Ibanez. so good hunting.
@NstuffMusic k, thanks! By the way, I checked out the site and its amazing...you get crazy deals. Im not trying to advertise for you all, but its a really good site. lol
After doing some research, I found that the price for this on N Stuff Music resembles the price for the S470DXQM (with 22 frets) on other sights. Is this the S570DXQM (with 24 frets), or is it the 470? Thanks.
Hey, im getting this amazing guitar soon and because i do alot of concerts i need a hard case. I was wondering if you knew if the GATOR GC-ELEC-XL case fits this guitar?
I'm seriously considering buying this git, especially after your insightful demo, thanks! Any trouble with this falling "out of tune". Local salesman told me the locking nut is "problematic". Any additional help is greatly appreciated, thank you!!
I got very lucky getting this guitar. I bought it used at a Sam Ash where the previous owner replaced the neck and bottom pickups were replaced with Dimarzios I believe and still got about 200 dollars off the retail price. I guess upgrading the pickups of a guitar do not bring up resale value. Unless of course you had a Stratocaster or Gibson Les Paul do you retain value in your guitar.
I think i have tried this in guitar center. He is right. It is really easy to play. I was able to play alot faster and hit notes more efficiently. The fact that ibanez is mostly thin neck and for metal makes sense i guess.
I like this guitar. I don't really care for the neck inlays though. I prefer the Shark Tooth Inlay. I love the sound the this guitar though. Does it play easy and are the strings close to the fretboard. What gauge strings should you use on this guitar?
@TheStratman2617 It play's super easy and has great action. It comes from the factory with .09 gauge strings I would not go heavier than .010 in my opinion.
@NstuffMusic hello, does this guitar do bends easily? Because it seems like it could easily pull off metal and hard rock, but could it pull off blues and stuff of that nature? lol, i cant buy a guitar if it cant pull bends easily...i've already had that experiance with my BC Rich SOB Avenge...that thing couldny pull off a bend whatsoever (dont get me wrong, its great for metal tho)
@TrippyTheShroom Yes it can do bends easy. This guitar is cool because it gap's a strat style guitar and a metal style. It is a very versatile guitar.
@NstuffMusic may i also say, good lord...that guitar is almost paper thin, i actually tried it out at a guitat center the other day and it might be one of the lightest guitars i've EVER held...it is also very very versatile guitar, it can range from blues, country, metal, jazz etc....thanks for the review it definitly swayed my overall opinion of Ibanez guitars
can i still buy your products even though im in Canada? and will the prices change ( not including s&h) due to the currency? im thinking of buying the rp500.. how much would that be including shipping? plz reply
pros: beautiful looking guitar, light, amazing neck pick up tone, decent tremolo (if you know how to lock it and set it up) fast fingerboard.
cons: middle pick up(single coil) noisy like the cheapest squire or epiphone pick up, bridge pick up is noisy but not like the middle one, very sharp fret edges.
if youre thinking about to buy one of this beauties you must have in mind that you might want to replace the shitty pick ups i installed a dimarzio hs3 middle pick up ans sounds amazing
i own the gray one, and letme tell you is beatiful, light and with an amazing tone(neck pick), but this guitar isnt a 100% perfect, in this vid sounds flawless because he used only a very light overdrive , but once you use a distortion pedal the middle pickup sound like shit , youll se people posting about how amazing is an istrument , but be careful because mostly of that people never owned a true guitar before
i want to buy one of these.the price is not mentioned in the website.how much is this?can you ship one of these to sri lanka?what do you offer with this?
Great demo. I saw a white one of these today - well, a 570 - and really liked its look and feel. But the salesman was pushing it as a metal guitar. Your playing shows that it can do the kind of stuff I aspire to do.
I'm just starting to learn at age 63. Wish me luck!
@MetallDeath2010 The S570DXQM is $564.99. I like the S570DXQM better I think it is a more versitle guitar. The Jem has a little better pickups and flashy cosmetics it's more similiar to the RGT42.
that is a 570, the 470 had dot inlays and 22 frets. this is my fav. guitar and hope I can buy one soon. the only s series better is the 5470, but the quilted maple is much nicer than the flamed top, and it's a lot more expensive.
@Cre8rocks also, online you see a lot of very brite blue S570DQXM's without darker blue around edges. the one in video, as well as a 570 and a 470 I saw in a store was this pale, purple-ish burst that i thought was called blue moonburst. is it a special color not available to the "big" stores like GC, Samash, etc?
Hey! Great vid. I was thinking on buying this guitar because I heard it was realy good for any kind of music, but until now, al related vids were metal, with this video you realy show us the clean side of this guitar, absolutely love it, and probably buying it soon, how much was yours? :)
@NstuffMusic do you sell more than just this one for just that price? i am really considering buying this guitar, and am on a very low budget( barely any) but this is my main point of interest as of now.
I had trouble playing the Gibson SG because of it just being too small/light and I'm a Big Man. I usually stand when playing, do you think this one will give me trouble also? Are these about twice the thickness as the new RG920 line?

@NstuffMusic do you sell more than just this one for just that price? i am really considering buying this guitar, and am on a very low budget( barely any) but this is my main point of interest as of now.

Hey, how is the sustain on the guitar?
Zincabopataurious 1 year ago
@Zincabopataurious The sustain is very good for such a slim guitar. It has a Mahogany Body and the pickups are pretty hot.

I think the only differance are some cosmetic features like the fretboard inlays.
