Dynaudios are comparable to Genelecs, with an entirely different sound worth comparing.

is that a Genelec monitor out there?

Thanks very much. The Monitors are the Mackie HR824 Active Monitors. They are sort of a clone of the Genelec. I like the Genelec and I was going for them but when I heard these I thought they were great and they are much less money.

You're right, Genelecs are top of the line, and unfortunately for us with a top of the line price tags :P
But anyway if you go with less, it doesn't have to mean that those actives are a bad product :)

Yeah. I think these sound real nice. We can go on for hours about what makes a good monitor or which one is right. I have found that some things work for my ears and some things don't. It is true that sometimes I find myself liking things that turn out to cost and arm and a leg but I never really think of price untill I NEED to buy something. Some great stuff is set at a fair price. Take the synthesizers.com modular synth. Great price and great gear.
