\ok, to answer out of step, and wglenn, and I was (and still am) trying to be constructively critical here - The 'D' note is coming in ever so slightly early in the Intro / verse, and at 0:39 seconds in this short piece, the rhythm is lost . Listen carefully to it again, and then go an watch a live performance by Roots Radics or Sly& Robbie and 'turn on' to the exquisite attention they pay to the kick drum and one drop. They never veer, and dey use their ear.
Doesnt robbie use his thumb like 90% of the time? I play the bass and play with just two fingers. No need to bring a third one into the mix if you can play well with two. I have no problems keeping up with the two.
Well executed..I will watch this countless times until I master it.

Nice reggae mitt. It takes a lot of work and time to get that plucky, full tone with clear definition. Your "feeel" is spot on.
Tkrypton, keep listening to Jaco, and you'll be happy.

Guy , you'd improve if you brought your third finger into play. And remember, reggae is 3 quarters 'feeel'.

3/4 feel? what are you talking about?
Dizkneelande 3 years ago
3 quarters is the same as 3/4 feel.....

oh. wow I feel dumb.

No way, all reggae is in 4/4. And plenty of great bassist use two fingers. Some are good with even one. And everyone has their own technique.

third finger as in 'middle finger'

I'm positive tkrytpton meant reggae is 75% feel. Not 3/4 time signature. I happen to like this guy's playing. Sounds nice.
