window 7 Ultimate only supports maximum of 2 cores which Im still wondering why ppl go for quad cores or 6 cores...because the maximum quantity of physical processors of a PC that Windows supports is: 2.. So pls do explain this, pls tell me quad core or 6cores works if it only supports 2.. Im using the AMD quad 965 BE myself
Intel is more Popular because it is a multi purpose CPU. Its fan base is made for 2 parties (Business + gaming) While AMD is more targeted towards Gaming and is definitely more efficient in that category. To put it simply:
Uhhhhh, where did you get that from? Apart from the odd anomaly, Intel is ALWAYS ahead of AMD in benchmarks and architecture. Of course AMD lead the way with price/performance ratio.
Look, benchmarks don't lie. The AMD's are CONSTANTLY being obliterated by Intels. Stop thinking that the underdog is really superior to Intel, because it just isn't.
Stop trying circular arguments because you can't support your original claim. Intel are still winning, AMD have shown fantastic price/performance ratio and at certain points the Phenom II matches Intel Quads, but rarely gets above it.
If you said "I like AMD because they offer a great solution for the price", I would have agreed. But saying "AMD are winning the battle against Intel", you're just wrong.
No AMD is proper when it comes to big workstations - say for scoring digital music using hundreds of samples per second, or professional 3D modeling and rendering.
Luckilly, Ci7s wont cost too much now that AMD has developed some good Mid-Range CPU competition, I think that we all will be happy in 2009 with the low CPU prices!.
the prescott p4 had hyperthreading but it wasn't very good. it made a difference, including in temperature, but i wouldn't say spending the extra money on that was worth it

well if intel needs 6 cores to beat amds 4 core kinda cool seing as now amd have 6 core processor so looks like intel needs 8 cores rofl

AMD can race ! in 2011 AMD get the 32nm tecnology !.

I don't kown why intel try to compite with AMD,
Intel is losing the battle.

actually intel has never been able to match AMD's bus speed
TheFunnyEagle 2 years ago
Yet Intel are still on top? There's more to it than just bus speed.
LessthanJake14 2 years ago
its because of they have more advertisement nothing more nothing less

umm ok i know your trying to act smart but unless you make/program computers i dont want to hear it

I'm with you on this one Jake, Eagle has no argument and is just making pointless statements...!

Im sick of all this Intel i7 hype. Heres some actual factual proof why intel i7 is not designed for gaming but designed for servers.
Intel i7+large L3 cache+extremely small L2 cache= not very good gaming performance.
Fact:games Utilize large L2 cache, thats why current dual core and quads are good.

Intelligent comments please.

Wait for it....wait for it....you are exactly correct sir.
L2 in i7's is 256 (half of Phenom II)?

awesome facts there buddy. i agree with ya =D

how about one 4GHz Core i7 SINGLE SUPER FAT CORE, with 1GB of CACHE, for Gaming. : )

they have 8 cores

do you mean on the single chip or you mean multi-chips?

the nahalems coming out are 8 cores
ManBearPigLOL 3 years ago
whats nahalems? ive never heard of it.
faruh123 3 years ago
google it theres some youtube vid of it. its a compleatly new layout which allows more threads i think, and its 32nm.
ManBearPigLOL 3 years ago
its 45nm i saw some vids

eh same thing just goin off fuzzy memory
ManBearPigLOL 3 years ago
no 4 cores, and 8 threads
konkov123 3 years ago
there are 8cores
ManBearPigLOL 3 years ago
wrong there's no native oct core cpu's till at least q 4 next year look it up on fudzilla
chinchoweed 3 years ago
coming out <-- ??
ManBearPigLOL 3 years ago
4 cores, with hyperthreading like the old Pentium 4's, so it has 2 threads in one core, meaning the power of 8 cores.
nairb2693 3 years ago
did pentium 4s have hyperthreading? i thought they got rid of it and just recently brought it back.
ManBearPigLOL 3 years ago
yes, many of them did, then when core 2 came out, it was scrapped. Now with core i7 its back again
nairb2693 3 years ago

people don't want more cores they want more on board memory!!!!!
NVIDIA's GPU"s actually outperformed CPU's
WHY because of streaming processors!!
a good cpu has 8-12 mb of on hand memory, a GPU has 512-2Gb of on hand memory
no competition
learn to raise the capacity of memory.
i have 4 cors and 2 of them hardly get used but i get bottleneck for memory, at least my GPU's are picking up the slack
godscuttingyoudown 3 years ago
The other 2 aren't used because the programs that you use are only programmed to use 2 cores.
Dan4157 3 years ago
there is no gpu that can bottle-neck a quad-core procceser man.
faruh123 3 years ago
read carfully i said bottle necked because of lack of memory
godscuttingyoudown 3 years ago
AMD FTW!!!
tommeken16 3 years ago
AMD sucks big time for overclocking, but they're a good value. They're good for people who don't have a clue about computers/how they work.
Dan4157 3 years ago
Ooow right...
Soo why do i have my microsoft and my cisco certificate in my hands right now ??!!
Your a loser! You can't judge people on wath product they like so STFU
