  • my highschool band is playing this arrangement this year too, like it was said before it might have been the video camera, but in the beggining everytime a different group comes in with the melody it should be more pronounced and kind of dominate everything else but again it could just be the fact that the camera didnt pick up the lower pitches very well.

  • well it's hard to get a good understanding of balance with standard video camera microphones. they tend to pick up higher frequencies more than lower ones, so that could've influenced the balance slightly.

  • issues with intonation and balance.

  • my high school band is playing this right now and we are having major issues with tuning and keeping everything together because there is so many differnet things going on with counter melodies and all that. It's really pretty though, but super hard to get it down. This video was really good though and helpd me understand the music and phrasing better. Congrats!

  • Your bad has the same problem my band does. The High instruments are almost overpowering the lows. In this peice, its supposed to be dark and reedy, and the high instruments are taking away from the tone.

  • i play the glockenschpheille and this is a ravishing piece if i do say so myself, especially in the f sharp sforzando in the mezzo forte 3rd key signature.

  • I love this, played it with my youth orchestra a few years back.

  • Our High School Wind Ensemble is playing this song, it's beautiful and one of my favorite pieces from our set this year

  • what instrument do you play?

  • Very well, i liked it.
