If it's a freestyle how come the guy in the video shouts 'flashing lights' at 2:13 before Kanye says anything about flashing lights. Unless there were any lights somwhere on the stage where we couldn't see but that would still mean that the song was written as the show would have been prepared.

Its an elaboration on ideas that he's been working on... when i saw him in Baltimore in october he broke down with a long segment like this right in the middle of "Flashing Lights". He didnt say the exact thing but it was similar. doesnt matter anyway, basically every "FREESTYLE" is just a reiteration of previous thoughts and rhymes that rapper previously used combined together for an impromtu verse...

what makes this album different from college dropout, late registration, graduation, and most rap cds out there today is 808s & Heartbreak was inspired by emotion, all of which poured out into Kanye's words and compositions of beats. i can actually feel what he is saying, not just like oh, that punchline was hot, but oh, what he's actually saying makes sense. him standing in one spot looking down during this performance shows he zoned out completely.hes definitely raised the bar for rap artists.
