nice flashlight but it has too much electronics that is not necassary I mean look at the classic maglite 2 cell D, 2 cell D has actually no electonics at all you can practically made it at home.
I see it's the most expensive of all maglite series, but i wonder if it generates the brightest beam or just its apperance made the price? Someone please tell me :D there's a shop near my house so i'd like to own one, if it deserves the price :D
i brought a brand new maglite XL50 ive noticed mine has a slight yellowish tint in the middle of the spot when aimed at the wall in real life ,it might pick it up on your vid ,is yours like that? or tottally bright white cheers.!
@ak47838383 Thanks! I will stick with my P7 then, although this torch looks cool. They will have to make it brighter than that before I buy one though.
Great presentation dude.....!, I was wanting an LED light for my AK47 barrel mount and this one looks good, and it's not expensive,,,Thanks for the vid, I'm ordering a couple now.......
It is a wonderful light and I too have purchased one last week and tested the way you demonstrated. I wanna know the demonstration under the water. how it works during diving in the sea or under water.
Only issue with this is in the dark, how would you know which setting is "up" so you can just turn the damn thing on without a super special effect going off.
Not a big fan of this light. Bought it today, had to watch the video on yourtube to even figure out how to adjust it! The instructions that come with it suck. After using it for a few days my conclusion is to return it to the store for something more user friendly.
what is the brand of that clock on the bottom with the words instead of numbers. that's an interesting clock. Also wanted to know the brand of the talking clock. nice video, getting this light for my dad for christmas
can you get replacement leds for this if they were to die, would it be possible to pop the lense out and replace it with a glass 1 and is it actualy WATERPROOF as a posed to just splash proof ?
Good review. If you don't like the grip then wrap it tightly with a bike inner tube. You can also slip a lanyard under the inner tube. As for battery life, just use new batteries.
I want more info for your battery charger, I now use ninh energizer batteries in my flashlights. I like the digital display. So if you can post the model or where you got the battery charger and price. thanks and take care...
Good video. I'm getting a AA multi-mode because I frequently use the candle feature, but you were very informative. And bear in mind that those rechargeables are only 1.2V at the best of times.
it did considerably well on 850mah batteries but could stand a chance at doing even better with some higher mah batteries like some 1000+mah maybe even better with some energizer lithium batteries and out of curiosity were maglites ratted run time with alkaline s
I´d like to see a review of the two other new Maglites: ML100, ML150. Are they avaliable now in the US? Can´t find any reviews of them on youtube..(?)
good review...i love maglite....havnt used thier led versions...i like the features its nice...the twist and it will dim to what you want it...very nice...however 83 lumens isnt that great compared to the 120 lumens fenix ld10 and quark aa tatical r5 just to name a few..but then agian those lites dont have the features this maglite has...does it stand up to use in candle mode? i was waiting to see that.....btw thats an old old old clock..my great grand father had one like that
it has a nice UI i must admit but compared to other lights i would not consider this as my edc light. it's to thick, it has no lanyardhole ,the plastic lens sucks major and 83 lumens? come on man there are lights out there that do double that in the same price range with a glass lens. lanyardhole, less AAA's maybe the burntime is less but then who needs 3 continuous hours of 160 lumens in a edc light :o)
Excellent review. It's a shame it costs more than double to buy here in the UK. I'll be buying mine from the USA even with international shipping added on it still works out much cheaper.
These are $40 at home depot. Get a Quark AA at 4sevens.com and it will wipe the floor with this thing on 1 AA battery, WAY brighter, better build quality, better all around!
I'd like something like this exist in Mexico? this information could be sent my email is graff_nkst@hotmail.com and I subscribe to your channel. Thanks!!
@dieselducy I have the newer 2AA mini mag multi-mode, with Rebel LED, some say it´s rated almost 70lumens, It´s bright enough for me. But the new XL100 seems to be very nice, but I like my 2AA...
I was Skyping with you during this (Battery Life Test).
"Look! It lights the police car coming to my house, as I demo this light outside, in the dark!" :)
You'd probably get a longer light if you used regular batteries, since rechargables are known to not last as long, but rechargables are cheaper in the long run.
Great video dieselducy, very thorough. Looks like a great light, I could see that being perfect for an emergency tool in a vehicle. As far as battery life I wonder if Mag will ever try including their own integrated rechargeable battery so you can just plug the light into the wall without opening it up. Still 5-201 hours is a pretty nice range.
a very thorough test, perfect review, thank you!
