@bandman232 that is nowhere near a nascar engine, #1 it runs on unleaded fuel (NASCAR at the time wasnt using it yet), it has fuel injection, makes around 500hp versus 750, its computer controlled, the power curves are less peaky like the high rpm circle track engines-the power band is strong mid range, doesnt rev to 8000rpm probably around 7000rpm, and the motor is wayyyy lighter than a cup motor.....this car goes left and right
the track is mostly old world war two concrete airstrip...not much grip...you can see and hear it slide around the corners as is, i dont think he is braking too much
Do you remember that one year when the two GT2 cars of Melo and Henzler I think duked it out at the last stretch. Melo bumped Henzler out of the way on the last corner and took the gt2 win. That pissed me off Wolf had it in the bag.
yea they origianlly contacted SHM (sean hyland motorsports) out of Canada to setup and tune the 4.7L Stroker (284ci) and used them in the first few variations of the CC series...they are now using their in-house engine,
no i know the Panoz Ford Modular is built and tuned by Elan Powersports but the early Koenigsegg V8 was built and tuned by SHM as i noted earlier. today though, they use their own in house built V8 as you noted
That is some excellent footage. No announcers distracting from the fierce sounding engine either. And I'll get to see it at Sebring this weekend! Awesome video, thanks!
This is what happens when you put a NASCAR engine into a street car :D

@NHESS81
I've always wanted to drive it, but the closest I've got was on FM2, and the airfield portion was still slippery as hell. lol

I think the pilot knows better than you when to brake and when to put the pedal to the metal...

@seniorcat03
Looks like it unless they updated and didn't update their site. Then again Koenigsegg started off with FORD blocks.

@seniorcat03
You are referring to Panoz, right? I know Koenigsegg makes their own engines now and has for a while now.

Pretty good view at the GT2 vs. LMP2 speed differential when the Porsches go by.
