That thing about two different worlds, you hit a spot with that one. I know exactly what you mean, I even feel strange for a day,out of place or something, mostly when I'm home. Maybe getting my sea legs back, so to speak. In the truck you see things go by you, at home you go by things,on the road everything is on a timer, at home time is everything. On the road you don't know where you are going to be or sleep or eat till you get there. At home you are always there.
I pulled out into a parade in a town, with the flames on my truck and the lowboy, people thought I was part of the parade, got right through town quick. Did alot of waving and smiling.
@WNxRadeon Not in the northeast. Now they are on a kick of building cute little tiny ones in towns, with granite curbs and brick, roads are getting smaller, trucks bigger. They don't take into account lowbeds. I was in a town,I think in NY it had raised crosswalks, they doubled as speed bumps, what are the engineers thinking? Snowplows, lowbeds, sports cars?
@ihop54 i know what you mean, same over here in europe.
I am a truck driver myself and I also have a lowered car. The civil engineers won't think about things like that because all they care about is making money and doing it fast.
Vince as you give us commentary, take some of the focus off you and let us see the road ahead, and hear your explantion, and cut back on that loud music some. The Vid becomes more informational and we can use in the classroom. The sights, sound, and motor, and gear shift of the trucks gears.
A lot of people who are not fond of the road like I am ask me why I don't get tired of being on the road for so long and my response is;"you got to have the road enthusiasm in you" I'm going back on a road trip across America very soon, and I'm so excited I just can't wait.I hate airports preferring to drive rather than fly.you have more privacy and can stop for breaks whenever you feel like it,and you don't have to be around strangers packed in a plane like sardines.

@redviper2GAMER What the fuck are you talking about truckers don't pay taxes? Owner Operaters Don't pay taxes right away but they do when taxes season does, but company drivers pay taxes every week. And where do you get this undereducated bullshit? Most truckers are very intelligent, do you have any idea what it takes to operate a truck. Trip planning, time managment, safety codes and proceedures. You don't know shit so shut the fuck up until you do.
Uneducated jobs. Put gas in truck and drive. Payday is no fun when gas prices are so high more stupid a trucker ask why. Once again a trucker wonders why it must keep on trucking. They stink but if gas is to much walk. Truckers carry expensive loads from manufactures that they can't offord or have nothing to do with. They drive expensive machinery down the road built by factories like Peterbuilt a new truck. Some days trucker will retire sad and to pasture welcome new trucker.
@xoxoxoxo3071 What's interesting is that if it weren't for truck drivers, you would have nothing. No food, no supplies, nothing! If truckers are so "uneducated," I'd like to know exactly where you went to school. Your wonderful spelling and lack of punctuation screams "uneducated."
I bet these "uneducated jobs" make people more money than a normal job.And if u class people according to the type of job they do, I feel sorry you, cause u will die (and everyone will) a tired, lonely and hate filled individual.
@xoxoxoxo3071 You are a worthless human being and ignorant on top of that. It makes me frustrated to think that my friends and I defend people like you. You and your stupid train of thought is what is wrong with America. You think your better then a truck driver because you make more, then tell all truckers to stop driving and then you can eat you fucking money since the store and restaurants won't have anything in them.... you idiots deserve nothing.
Well I'm not a truck driver (in fact I don't even have a job right now), but I would highly recommend finishing high school or earning a GED (personally I have a GED -- long story). In any case, you can't truck until you're at least 21 so you might as well finish secondary school in the meantime.
Hey Vince, what was the problem with the airbags, you didnt tell what was wrong with'em. Just crappy connection on the leveling soloeniods? Love to know what your remedy was to get them to work! Thanks BRBT

Nice vid. I know exactly what your talking about when you say getting back out is a transition. Specially if your off more than two days. Strange as it may sound to someone who has never done the job but sometimes being home too long is just as bad as wanting to go home. You just gotta go!
Sadly I will probably never be driving again, but by watching your videos I can re-live some great memories of the open road. I get such a kick out of hearing you and listening to your thoughts because it sounds so familiar to me. Thanks a million for all you do and God bless

howdy, sir. i am currently about to start my first day of driving training, and hopefully within a month or so i will be out on the road earning my keep as well. any advice for a newbie?
I went to Sandhills Community College in Pinehurst, NC, so I've driven through that turn-about many, many times. It's a nice little community there. I've also had airbag troubles once in my Freightliner Columbia. Unfortunately for me I was unable to fix it myself and had to get towed. I was out of commission for a few days, which is frustrating.
How do you like the auto transmission? I've never driven one in a truck before. Does it drive like a car in that respect?
Love your vids man. Very professionally done. Best trucker video series on the web for sure!! Thats awesome you drove through Pinehurst, NC. Thats where I live, actually right near that damn turn circle LOL. Thanks Again for the Videos!

3. I know what you mean about feeling like your between worlds. I used to experience that when I was in the military
4. I will begin OTR training by next week in Van Buren Ark. So once more I will find myself in a some what familiar world. But one I have not experienced since the 80's
@BubbaJohn25 Kentucky Route 180 is a connector route between US 60 and Kentucky Route 3. It is four-lanes divided from US 60 to just shy of Interstate 64,
Great video Nice Truck Also ,I see you do some real traveling ,I Used To be a cross country truckeralso ,but i am now retired at the young age of 43 ,Yes i really miss driving but i now make a better living from home ,I'm from oklahoma but now live in new york !
Hey man i start NTTS in NY feb 1st ..... I wanna get my career goin in the business im 24 married and no kids yet..... can u give me alittle advice im so anxious
nice job with video im starting cdl school the 1st of dec my wife is going to follow me in 6 months we want to team drive you have any advice for us like who to work for i hear a lot of good and bad i think its gona be good we are gona close up our apt and live on the road save some cash then maybe retire our goal is 6 to 10 years with no rent or bills looks good but would like to hear from you
i noticed you use a GPS how is that for you and is it the Garmin one for Over the Road trucks where you can put weight and heights or is that just a reg. car one?
I have watched videos 7 to 13 (going to see #1). All give me a good idea of what you truck drivers have to deal with every day. And keeping up with shipment times to warehouses. You provide humor during the clips. Your camera angles are very good--you had to be influenced by the directors of music videos on MTV like Hype Williams, Wayne Isham and Mark Romanek. You show the open road and tell a story about your truck driving in your videos. Thanks for sharing your life on the road to us.
Ok vince where oh where is part 13? Please make more vids. By the way I loveeeeeeeee your vids. Your big inspiration to me and so many others. Keep on trucking dude!
Vince, your videos have given me the details of what it is to be a trucker. You are an inspiration to my soul. I retire Feb 2010 and plan to attend a community college for my CDL in VA. I have narrowed my trucking company decision to Werner, J. B. Hunt, Swift, and Prime. I will attend the truck expo in Dallas TX. Who do you drive for and are U an owner operator?
Vince, these videos are top notch...did you study film making in school? Truly good stuff!
I totally empathize with the living between 2 worlds. I am an airline pilot and I think there's a linear relationship with the number of days I have off and the degree of difficulty in going back to work. Usually takes one ocean crossing for me to get back in the groove of being "on the road again" and living out of a suitcase.
Keep up the great work and I look forward to your next segment!
That thing about two different worlds, you hit a spot with that one. I know exactly what you mean, I even feel strange for a day,out of place or something, mostly when I'm home. On the road you don't know where you are going to be or sleep or eat till you get there. At home you are always there.

1. Loved the Video and music
2.. How did you fix the airbags
3. I know what you mean about feeling like your between worlds. I used to experience that when I was in the military
4. I will begin OTR training by next week in Van Buren Ark. So once more I will find myself in a some what familiar world. But one I have not experienced since the 80's
mesquiteguy1221 2 years ago
Hi, the problem with the airbags was the leveling switch. I just cleaned some dirt off the valve.

Vince,
By far one of your best. I like them all, but this one really stands out. Well done. Thanks for your hard work.
fratsit 2 years ago
I have watched videos 7 to 13 (going to see #1). All give me a good idea of what you truck drivers have to deal with every day. And keeping up with shipment times to warehouses. You provide humor during the clips. Your camera angles are very good--you had to be influenced by the directors of music videos on MTV like Hype Williams, Wayne Isham and Mark Romanek. You show the open road and tell a story about your truck driving in your videos. Thanks for sharing your life on the road to us.
north5880 2 years ago
Ok vince where oh where is part 13? Please make more vids. By the way I loveeeeeeeee your vids. Your big inspiration to me and so many others. Keep on trucking dude!

Vince, your videos have given me the details of what it is to be a trucker. You are an inspiration to my soul. I retire Feb 2010 and plan to attend a community college for my CDL in VA. I have narrowed my trucking company decision to Werner, J. B. Hunt, Swift, and Prime. I will attend the truck expo in Dallas TX. Who do you drive for and are U an owner operator?

ok Vince, just finished watching all 11 of your videos again. Now waiting on the 12 episode. Be smart and safe.
acehigh62 2 years ago
Vince, these videos are top notch...did you study film making in school? Truly good stuff!
I totally empathize with the living between 2 worlds. I am an airline pilot and I think there's a linear relationship with the number of days I have off and the degree of difficulty in going back to work. Usually takes one ocean crossing for me to get back in the groove of being "on the road again" and living out of a suitcase.
Keep up the great work and I look forward to your next segment!
kd2051 2 years ago
thanks for the comment. I have never studied film making
but have a background in still Photography,
