  • dis original version is great. i also love soundgardens cover of dis song

  • what the fuck people, stop it with Kurt, this is Green River

  • First word I see in the comments: Kurt

    Fuck sake

  • is this the album version? i have a different one and it comes from my album, but cant find that one on youtube.

  • Nirvana's first album "Bleach" was grunge, other albums have just few grunge songs.

  • How about Mudhoney? mr mark = good singer

  • Why are people commenting about Nirvana on a Green River video? If you want to talk about them go do it on one of their videos, as if they were that great... There were better "unknown" bands and classic albums when they didn`t even exist, speaking about grunge that is.

  • This song includes lines from This Ain't The Summer Of Love by Blue Oyster Cult. Both epic songs.

  • @kewlguitarist Indeed.

  • The Bass player in this killed my dog and ate it!

  • just love raunchy ass rock, havin another beer....MAN I MISS THESE DAYS.... FUCK

  • instead of nirvana lets talk about green river, mother love bone, soundgarden, temple of the dog, pearl jam, afterall there is a rich history and interwoven tapestry between all those bands that nirvana had nothing to do with. thanks.

  • fuckin awesome

  • Kicking Ass and Taking Fucking Names!...

  • One of the pioneers of Grunge if I'm correct. Killer song

  • @djaudiorage66 Out of Green River came many bands...Pearl Jam to name one...yeah, them & Meddaphysical & Gruntruck...the list goes on! And I was THERE! :)

  • The original grunge band <3

  • @MsF1chick The original grunge band was a band called The Sonics, check them out

  • @arrowdown I see; and I shall :)

  • @arrowdown The Sonics were called "Garage Music," from which I believe the term "Grunge" originated. In my mind, anyway! I've got 2 Sonics' 45s..wonder if they're worth anything?

  • @arrowdown

Exactly. The Original Northwest Garage Band. The Purveyors of Grunge before it was ever invented...

  • lol. No one invented grunge. It was just a play style the caught on in the 90s. There where maybe bands that played and sounded the same in WA. Some made it and some didnt.

  • @jaroussky1 I think Melvins had more to do with the development of grunge, but Green River refined the sound and formula so yeah :D

PS Sorry to bother you two years after your comment hahaha

  • wild.

  • Ejaculatioooonnnn

  • Awesome song. Want a taste of 90's to come back? Check out Eat The Dog. They have a couple songs on youtube called "Electric Man" and "Tideland" also can be found on facebook.

  • @jaroussky1 Every one seems to think this, but I must point out that black flag was doing it in 83 when they recorded "My War", however, Green River is still awesomeness.

  • Does anybody know where to get this version? Cuz when I tried downloading it from ares I got another version that don't kicks ass like this one. And no way I'm gettin' this album anywhere here in Mexico....

  • @doctorsensual77 youtube-mp3(dot)org

  • @andybirger DUDE, IF I WAS FACE 2 FACE WITH YA I'D KISS YA, THANKS A LOT!!!!!

  • @doctorsensual77 No thatnks, but we can leave it with the kiss... Glad to help another rocker :)

  • i sorta like mudhoney a little more

  • @mikk231 mudhoneys good too but i think his sound was a little less repetitive in green river

  • @l3054 ya

  • Maaaaan!! Where Can I find this album for download? I sure wont find it to buy here in Brazil...

  • @vitordemagalhaes you can order it from sub pop. not sure about download

  • rip off bands sucks. fuck this shit

  • @yovioleatuzorramadre Good joke. Sorry, Green River is fantastic, I don't agree.

  • lol soundgarden stole this

  • @H1N1777 you mean green river stole this from Blue Oyster Cult

  • @yovioleatuzorramadre and blue oyster cult stole this from... wait they didnt. LOL

  • @H1N1777 no shit. thats funny.

  • @yovioleatuzorramadre the blue oyster riff and lyrics are intentional, dude.

  • I've seen them play with the Melvins it was epic.

  • @jaroussky1 technically The U-men did according to wikipedia since them and Malfunkshun are both older than Green River

  • Mark Arm is the God of Grunge. Two extreme classics from him "Swallow My Pride" and "Touch Me I'm Sick"

HEY I WOULDN'T MIND IF YOU SWALLOWED MY PRIDE

  • This is a really awesome song :) But I think neil young was the creator of Grunge :)

  • @jaroussky1 i dont know if would say 'they inveted grunge'. i prefer giving that honor to U-Men, but Green River is really cool too.

  • cant say i like this/the album version much. i remember hearing a more stripped version than this.. no girl talking, just mark singing.

  • @msmoustache80 It's on the March to Fuzz album, but it's not currently with me. I know this sounds similar to a Mudhoney song. Can anyone help?

  • i just grew a third ball

  • Green River = Mark Arm, Steve Turner, Bruce Fairweather, Jeff Ament and Stone Gossard... somebody knows who are they? Maudhoney = Mark Arm and Steve Turner... Jeff Ament and Stone Gossard = Pearl Jam...

The Green River album "Rehab Doll" was the first record on SUB POP label...

  • This sounds like a later Mudhoney song. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

  • @dissident93 Touc me I'm sick I think is what you're thinking of.

  • @BurnTheArtGallery Is it? I think it might be another song, but you could be right.

  • I heard the riff and immediately thought of the stooges

  • Comment removed

  • pure grunge, a full rig of that and you'll overdose.

  • i dont know much about green river, are they a straight lo-fi band or is this like, unreleased?

  • @jaroussky1 There's neil young too but its kind of fussy hahaha. I don't think we can say ''oh they invent grunge!''... Its more like a huge collaboration creation to me... Well opinions again...

  • The dude that down-rated this song is a dick.

  • @jaroussky1 deffinately one of the pioneers along with buzz and dale.

  • One of the sweetest riffs in all creation

  • Green River and Mudhoney invented gunge...well...thet fkin best!

  • @xxJarlaxle Malfunkshun did also.

  • Still prefer nirvana's style.

  • @vercingetorix9 Green River and Mudhoney assisted in Nirvana's sound dude

  • is this the singer of mudhoney?

  • @amtheriver yes

  • @amtheriver yes it is

  • @amtheriver yes

  • @amtheriver Yep; he was in Green River before Mudhoney. In conclusion, Mark Arm is quite possibly the most influential singer in grunge (in its underground form, at least; Kurt's the king of mainstream grunge).

  • @aerocmetallica1995 dude...you re the 4th to commend back saying yes..read the comments bellow..ok i get it...ITS MARK ARM OF MUDHONEY...damn wtf

  • @amtheriver Sorry; didn't see them because they were older comments. Calm down; I didn't mean to offend or anything.

  • @aerocmetallica1995 they are newer than my original comment though...i mean..my original comment is on the second or third page...u have to search to see it...anyway....am just saying

  • @aerocmetallica1995 Kurt realy wasn`t mainstream, he`s just the most well known Grunge figure, and let`s be honest, his music was great, Nevermind wasn`t his best ofcourse but still, In Utero kicked balls now didn`t it?

  • @RoyLikesKMFDM nevermind isnt nessesarily there best album:) i love it yet its my least favourite!

  • @RoyLikesKMFDM Bleach was with out a doubt their finest album...

  • @RoyLikesKMFDM yes! finally i see a good comment. in utero WAS there best album

  • @RoyLikesKMFDM I like some grunge, and I think Nirvana sucked. Always have. I find them very overrated

  • @RoyLikesKMFDM "Kurt wasn't mainstream,"? Huh? Pretty sure damn near the whole world knows who he is and therefor: Mainstream.

  • @kargath101 trolllllllllin! it doesn't matter when it comes down to it he is dead.

  • @kargath101 so because people now his music, he was mainstream? uh i thought it was when some one made mainstream music that they were mainstream but i could be wrong i'm not sure, anyway this song kicks ass.

  • @RoyLikesKMFDM Every single song on nevermind is absoloutely unreal and in all fairness some of the songs on it are defainitly his best work. Polly wants a cracker ................

  • @RoyLikesKMFDM WTF? Nirvana was so totaly mainstream... As was soundgarden and Pearl Jam. Nirvana is played on almost every rock station and if you ask a 12 year girl that listens to JB if she has ever heard of Nirvana, She will most likely say yes. But i do like Nevermind as well even though some songs on there arn't thier best work. I do think they have better.

  • @flipside799 Yeah they were but it's not really something they intended to happen. They started on sub pop just like alot of other great bands. Cant really blame them for being successfull and i know you're not. Guess what im trying to say is that they changed what mainstream was instead of conforming to what was already established, ya know?

  • @RoyLikesKMFDM everything, had so much soul its what lacks in music today

  • @RoyLikesKMFDM i think nirvana was great but people really dont know grunge they think its all about nirvana , i personally think alice in chains is abetter band .. sound garden is pretty well too. its not all about nirvana!!

  • @joakoTR duh, if i thought it was all Nirvana i wouldn`t be on a Green River vid. Let`s not forget Mother Love Bone here either! and TAD.

  • @RoyLikesKMFDM

My favorite is the Bleach album. :)

  • @CCRockit Bleach is awesome! :D

  • @RoyLikesKMFDM thank god. in utero is my favorite nirvana album and everyone keeps telling me im stupid for liking it more than nevermind. twats

  • @jaroussky1 fuck the papas and the mamas piece of caca

  • led zeppelin was a rock and roll band

  • by the way i have heard of those bands and Skin Yard came shortly after Green River and U-men played post-punk and didnt enter into the grunge phenomenon until GR and Soundgarden came about

  • i thought this was a soundgarden song. its on screaming life/fopp

  • love that riff

  • I love Green River!!!!The first grunge band ever!!!!

  • they sound like Mudhoney :D

  • @Jaawss666

Mudhoney sounds like them, Green River was first and some of it's members went on to form Mudhoney. But yeah both bands are really good.

  • they sound like Mudhoney :D

  • suena como mudhoney creo

  • @Jaawss666 suena como seattle

  • @jaroussky1

Green River didn't really invent grunge they just were the first ones to release an indepedent record.

  • @yuothineyesasian no, they did invent it ass hole

  • @ludwiggreensparkle

You're a dumbass, one band never "invents" a whole genre. Arm may have first used the word grunge, but there were others playing within the sound he was describing. U-Men, Skin Yard, Etc. And other bands you and I have never heard of.

  • @yuothineyesasian dude, you're the dumbass...ever heard of Led Zeppelin? They were the first to play heavy metal followed closely by Black Sabbath...if one band is the first to play the sound they have invented it...by the way the "sound" that you're talking about that was played before green river was actually punk...grunge didnt come about until GR came into the mix so all in all GR was the first "grunge" band followed closely by Soundgarden

  • @ludwiggreensparkle

Nope, I never heard of Zeppelin, I only own all their albums.

    Ever heard of the Yardbirds?

Ever heard Jake Holmes, or the other people that wrote songs that Page stole.

Just because a band is the first to produce an album that gains recognition doesn't mean they invented a sound you dumbfuck.

  • @yuothineyesasian dude seriously i hate you...the yardbirds werent heavy metal at all...and dont ever talk bad about Zeppelin

  • @ludwiggreensparkle Zeppelin did not even invent heavy metal? wtf, they are way more blues rock/hard rock. Bands like Blue Cheer, Steppenwolf were before Led Zeppelin and they were just as heavy. Oh and I am a massive fan of Led Zeppelin.

    You are a fucking idiot

  • @yuothineyesasian

everyone knows zeppelin covered hella old blues songs

    get over it

    and yourself

  • @igessthsisgrwnup

    suck a dick.

  • @yuothineyesasian you can suck your mother dick peace of shit i like the mamas and the papas so what

  • @igessthsisgrwnup holly roller like a holly roller mother love bone caca

  • @ludwiggreensparkle so you're saying zeppelin were heavy metal before sabbath?? FAIL

  • they did reunite in 2008

  • esta es la banda mas pura y original del Grunge...pionera y precursora para grupos posteriores...

  • I would love to see these guys reunite

  • Dont forget about andy woods original band.

  • Green River rule!

They nabbed this riff from Summer of Love!

  • Tht's one sexy riff
