@trainwimi Medicine balls permit exercises and protocols that could never be done in a weight room, many of which can be extremely beneficial. If you're training to be an athlete a medicine ball can be a useful tool.
@HPCsport sorry for my rude, sarcastic comment. I have enjoyed your videos and appreciate the hard work you put into videoing them and posting them on youtube for the benefit of the public. I totally agree with your comment and have since subscribed to you channel!
the best medicine ball workout i know is a straight overhead throw, starting with the ball touching the ground, while trying to throw it as high as possible. You CAN catch the ball afterwords and keep the pace fast for better workout, but i have seen people get hurt while trying to catch the all coming straight down.
After about 12-15 reps, using a 12lb ball, i am exhausted.
This workout works surprisingly great for the abs, and also works the arms for throwing, and legs from the squat start
If you want to make this drill more exciting and get a bigger fitness benefit - have each partner hurl the ball as hard and fast as possible at the other's head.
....or you could just get in the gym and lift some real weights!
