Just catching up on reading responses to some of my messages and listening to 'Chris' here...........and I was reminded again, and jealously wishing this cold morning in Pensacola, that I was in Cajun country and hearing some beautiful LIVE Cajun music-----Yes, I know KLRZ, but that don't even nearly scratch that itch for live music!!!! I'll hopefully meet you guys one of these weekend mornings at Cafe Des Amis---salute Chris, and blafleur886!!!!!
MrEMan22--One more kick to your hindquarters!!! When a new Cajun great appears or one 'passes', it's not noted in the Pensacola News Journal....I did not know of the passing of Zydeco Joe, or the hot guitar in Steve Rileys band--or some others!!! Rock stars, unknown to me, get the respect in this town when they OD!!! LIGHTEN UP!!!!
blafleur886, thanks for your message, it's nice of you to remember we out of towners!!! A big group of Texans and Floridians will be coming in for the Cajun Festival the weekend of 'Downtown Alive' and I'll be looking for Chris! Can I find any of his music at Floyds?????? Will he be at any of the clubs after the Saturday night festival???? (Blue Moon Saloon, Grant St. Dance Hall, Whiskey River, etc, etc.?) Thanks my friend, your kind thoughtfulness is appreciated!!!!
Well, MrEMan22....Sorry I'm not familiar with all the Cajun greats--my being from, and living in, Pensacola, FL but I do come to Lafayette when I can get there. I do know many of the greats though. However, this one has apparently slipped through my fingers! I hope it's not the last time I hear him. I'd rather learn of a spectacular new artist than to hear that one of the old ones has passed away without my knowing he or she has gone....such as was the case with Beau JocqueI!!!!
Love this song one of my favorite waltz tunes because it has 3 distinct parts melody, turn , and the vocal all different but so well blended ....working on a fiddle video for this song as we speak....
This is beautiful and exquisitely played!! Can't say that in all the trips to Cajun land dances and festivals that I've ever heard it before, however! Where in my life has it been!!!? It would make my old Irish grandmother smile in her grave!!! I would love to hear it played by one of the Cajun greats at a big dance--or maybe at Girard Park in October!! : ) Thanks for posting this gorgeous rendition!!!!!

Mzpbmoon, Chris is too humble to advertise it, but he has a cd for sale. Search Chris Miller and Bayou Roots. I recommend it.

Oh la la ! So many tricks, extras, embellishments, and whatever, and still keeping the tune rolling on. Very special!
