Later in this 3 part special the protectobots and ultr magnus are defeated too and are put with some junk getting ready to be melted to scrap for fuel when the headmasters and some other guys, I don't remember who, see them and say they will die without power but then the nebulons reverse the plasma energy chamber and suck in some solar energy and give them energy so they all live.
