This chick is awesome. Wish there were more outgoing and competitive females out there like Ashely.

Out of curiosity does anybody know whether she's both deaf and mute, or is it just since she's incapable of hearing her own speech so she signs to communicate more effectively? Was unsure whether that was someone speaking for her, or simply her voiced over the music because the speech definitely isn't matching her lip movement.

Always thought it cool that loss of 1 sense heightens the others.

.first i have to say that i tip off my hat to her because she is taking on the world for being deaf. my gf is deaf but i learned to work around and with her deafness because i lover her i would give up my hearing just so she can experience the roar of the crowd.

Ironically-if Ashley were to watch this-she wouldn't be able to understand it. It's mostly a voice-over with no captions. And really, who "overcomes" deafness? You live with it everyday (either with happiness or with struggles)...but I disgress...you don't need to "overcome" deafness to ride. Now if she had a broken ankle or something, then you could say she "overcame it" and rode. It's not like her deafness impedes her ability to ride! And she CAN RIDEEE!!!! YOU GO GIRL!

she's not handicapped, if u hang out with her you'd know she's a normal 19 yr old that just cant hear. she doesnt think its a disability at all. she just rides.
