God's chosen people, the Jews, from Jacob to today, are taught and know the LORD our God is ONE LORD. Mt 28:19 tells us that his name will be Emmanuel, GOD WITH US...the Messiah. Think of this: PVC pipe is used to provide drinking water to your home and to remove sewage. Would you switch the two if your water pipe broke? Of course not. The removal or limiting of television from family homes is recommended by secular experts as well. In most homes it is not under control, that is why families mimic hollywood. However I agree that self control is needed, but it is easier without it, that is why it is recommended.

A monitor and selected movies is better by far. Television has a tendancy to take away quality time as well.

How can folks be sealed with the Spirit of Promise (the Holy Ghost) and not have their sins washed away (in water baptism). It looks to me like their sins would obviously have to be remitted and cleansed before the Spirit could seal you. No man putteth new wine into old bottles. No I'm not oneness, because Jesus never says "I am the Father". Yet the scriptures refer to him as the Son over 200 times. Jesus is Equal with but not directly identified as the Father.

Trinity is used the same amount of times that the word "modalism" or "oneness" is used NONE! As for the Catholic remark, you oneness are just like them. You must have a mediator between God and man. A man cannot have sins remitted except in water baptism by a man saying the right formula. The Catholic cannot have sin remitted without his preist using the right formula (the mass) to change the wafer into an instrument that will wash the sins of the people away. They use wafers, you use water.

Oneness is not a word that appears in the Bible, but the oneness of the Godhead in Christ certainly does. "For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily." Colossians 2:9.

As for Holiness, I believe you began that conversation. Good for you that your wife & children dress modest. However, you have missed a few steps. Without believing in the oneness of the Godhead, your wife should put her bikini back on.

Did William Seymore, Charles Parham, and Bonnie Bray receive the Holy Ghost or a "pagan god"? If they received a pagan god, then didn't the Jesus Name revelation also appear to a man who was filled with a pagan god. How can you trust his revelation? They were all Trinitarian. Azuza Revival was of the devil if what you say is true. Charles and John Weasley were pagan worshippers along with Charles Finney. We teach them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. Was Jesus speaking in code here? Was he really meaning Baptize them in his name only? Why Father, Son, and HG?

We don't know exactly how they baptized because we have no baptismal formula quoted word for word in Acts or any other book. In the name of Jesus simply means "by the authority of Jesus". Since he gives the authority in Matt., I would say that Father Son and Holy Ghost is a better way. Formulas cannot save a man from sin anyway sir. The disciple received their authority to baptize from Jesus. They simply exercised that authority throughout the book of Acts.

Was Act 2:38 a Command or a baptismal service? It is obviously a command during preaching which we assume was followed by a baptism service. Just as important however is the command in Colossians 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do ALL in the name of the Lord Jesus. Is this a formula for everything we do, or is it a life lived under the rule and authority of Jesus Christ? Baptism simply an expression of this authority. You can say the right words and have a heart far from God's rule.

There is no other name under Heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. Neither is there salvation in any other. There is no salvation unless it is through that name - JESUS. Unless someone repents of their sins(turns around), is baptized by immersion in the name of Jesus Christ, and is filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking with other tongues as the Sirit of God gives the utterance, there is no salvation. That is God's Divine Word. Who can challenge His Authority.

My problem with this is that from your teaching, God is no longer a person but a substance possesed by 3 persons, giving you 3 persons who are God which seems to me to make God a committee of people or a pantheon of sorts, which in and of itself is pointless after you finish describing their relation to each other. There's no disputing the persons of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. They are like leaves on a 3 leaf clover. We don't call it "3 leaf clovers" It is one clover with three leaves eminating out of one stem. That is the way God is revealed to man. The leaves are distinct in there places, similar in appearance, and the same in their essence (the stem)

Gen. 1:26-27; Gen. 11:7-8; Gen. 18:1-3; Ps.2:6-7, 12; Ps. 110:1; These are just a few OT examples of plurality within the One-God. The Revelation of God is progressive from Gen-Rev. We know more about God by the end of Rev. than we did in Gen. 1:1. The plurality is overwhelmingly obvious in the NT. I have read David Bernard's book on the Oneness of God. His keys to understanding difficult passages are not scriptural at all. He destroys the doctrine of the incarnation. Explain Jn.17:21-24@1Jn2:22

How do you support David Bernard's belief the Jesus "sometimes spoke as a man, sometimes spoke as God and sometimes both". He also teaches that God didn't die on the cross. He separates the diety of Christ from his humanity. That destroys the doctrine of the incarnation (God manifested in the flesh) or (Emmanuel God with us). He was either the "God-Man" or he wasn't. When he spoke, God spoke. When he felt pain, God felt pain. He wasn't the "God-Man" once in a while. That's crazy!!

This arguement does not address my concerns about David Bernard's teachings which destroy the concept and doctrine of the Incarnation. We can argue all night about 1 in 3 or 3 in 1. The issue I raised was whether or not God tasted death for every man. Mr. Bernard doesn't think so.

I once attended an independent Apostolic church in VA. Cavaness has preached there many times and I had the pleasure to hear him. He is both honored and feared in that church. It is hard to tell who is good and who is evil in Apostolic churches. God will be the judge in the end. I remember hearing preaching about worldliness and how we were to stay away from t.v. and internet. Well to be what they call a back slider and to find Elder Cavaness and Elder Meade and Elder Alvear on YouTube WOW!!

All I know is that I have met some nice APOSTOLICS on youtube and maybe the preachers need to look at youtube and see what is really going on. The preachers job is to preach the gospel not post it on youtube. If you have been on youtube much you have also met some bad people. This is not about looking for good or bad, this is about seeing things for what they are. There is bad here you don't have to look for it. What do you mean by bashing? How many people get on the internet to find God? It is not a viable tool for the gospel. Do you have filters and guards? How about on your heart? Why don't you go to the church in Virginia anymore?

All my life coming up as a preacher's son, my family and I attended several camp meetings and conferences across this nation, AND one thing was sure to happen EVERYTIME: For one of the super delegate Top Guns to get up and RAIL & BASH the UPC back to Azusa Street! It never failed, the whole place would go up in a cloud of dust from the footstompin/ handclappin/ backslappin and high-fives as this elite group of AMF/ ACI guys would congratulate each other on their arrival in Pentecost Holiness!

The UPC as a structure is wrong. It is a hierarchy with preachers over preachers. And - genereally speaking their holiness standards have been non-exsistent since Ballestero preached the 1964 convention. Amazingly, that tape cannot be found in any of there records.

While I agree with your point about not posting certain messages, please use the same discretion when speaking of the UPCI. I attend a UPC congregation where holiness is preached (yes, we preach against television and all video including educational films). But, there are many Apostolic Pentecostal churches who have different beliefs. I only attend one church and am not anyones pastor, so its frankly none of my business what others do. I just need to work on reaching my family and city.

For those who claim to have been hurt by the gentleman in the video, remember this: David called Saul a man of God yes, the same Saul who was out consulting witches! The point is, only God can anoint and it is not for man to determine when or if that anointing is no longer present. Do what you need to do, but PLEASE, find a good church (UPCI or not :) that preaches Acts 2:38 and the entire Bible and see wonders in your family and life.

My Dad passed away two years ago, a statesman member of the elite ACI Group, in fact Bro. Cavaness spoke at Dad's funeral as well, however Dad would have disapproved of the Elder Cavaness preaching this funeral while being filmed with a "Television Camera?"

Frankly, those in the Indy area chuckle at this behavior from Rev. Cavaness. Having known the personalities of the area for decades, the Urshan's were and are a class act. Rev. R.W. Cavaness-a far cry from his father-has hurt many ministers and, apparently, church members with continued deceitfulness.

I was thrilled to see his eulogy-perhaps he made amends with the Urshans. If only other ministers and youth from his church were afforded the same words of kindnesss, maybe healing could occur.

this appearance was all a political move aimed at "crashing" into the elite of the upci while at the same time preaching and talking about them across the US. Sad as it is ethics went out the door in pentecost years ago.

Anyone who has been around the AMF or ACI knows that their meetings are nothing more than a UPC bashing party, and for the life of me I can't figure out why the ring leader would come and speak and honor a person who this good man of God and many others have bashed in the past..... I guess there's a couple of different conclusions I've came to.

Either the AMF has ran out of friends or maybe their finally seeing the light..... Just maybe there'll be some UPC saints in heaven!!!

Evidently you haven't been to the same meetings that I have been to and I have been to most for about the last twenty years...I also have most of the tapes or cd's, would you like to hear them? There is not much UPC bashing...there may be strong comments about the system, (maybe 5 minutes or so of statements) saying that it is not the body of Christ-it is a man made structure. Oh, and by the way you are bashing the AMF on you tube! Do two wrongs make a right?
