I miss them too, a lot. They were one of those groups who I really connected with back then. I love this track too. It is imaginative, clever, and lyrically brilliant.
I love this group, brings back so many memories for me. One of my favourite all time groups. This is one of my favourite tracks by them [alongside 'Two Princes']. Some people say 'Cleopatra's Cat' 'bombed', I disagree. I found it artistic, imaginative, and the lyrics were great, and still are. The Spin Doctors should have got more recognition then they did.
I remember well...this was the first single after their smash first album, and it obviously stunk and dragged a pretty decent follow-up down with it. Absolutely godawful lyrics. The dangers of too much weed, if you ask me...
I remember the spin doctors back when grunge was king, unfortunately they got drowned out by bands like Nirvana, STP & Pearl Jam, all good bands but the Spin Doctors were worthy of recognition big time but fell just short uder the radar, more than they should have. This afternoon I met Athoy, the guitarist that took Eric's place, nice guy was a pleasant to speak with him.
@amin1950 soo true! i love the spins', they are under rated and under known. i tell everyone to check them out. whoever and whenever they hear them they dig it hard lol. i always listen to them when im blazin. " if you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything"..... peace:)
Hey, this is great! I never saw the official music video for this song, and notice that it is filmed at the actual Temple of Dendur, which is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Yes, folks, transferred there (it would have been under water after the Aswan High Dam on the Nile would have flooded the site).
Anyway, it's a cool video of Spin Doctors at their height. I miss these guys, they jammed.
I heard this song for the first time on the radio last night but I didnt know who sang it. I said to myself though no way a band today could make music like this so I knew it had to be an old band. BAM Spin Doctors :)
i got this song in my head out of nowhere yesterday and had to see the video again dont think ive seen this since it came out! good memories, right on
The only thing about this that I can notice is how big the singer's head is

Another very underrated band with a lot of talent, why do good musicians seem to get shafted?

I also think Erik Shenkman was a very underrated guitarist. His solo stuff was good, he put them out about 2yrs after the SDs broke up.
